Ricky's POV
I had a hard time focusing in school. Just constantly thinking about what I saw in the mirror.
As soon as I got home, I headed straight to my room, locked the door, and looked into the mirror. "Uh...... hey? Is there like some sort of ghost or something in here?" I can't believe I'm really doing this.
"Um .... listen. Sorry to bother you or anything, but I just need to know if I've gone crazy or something."
"You're not crazy!" I heard a girl's voice say.
"Ok. If I'm not crazy then what, where, and who are you?"
Suddenly, a girl walked up behind my reflection. I could feel her touch my reflection's shoulder as she walked in front of it.
"I'm Nova Lyetta. I'm just a girl who is trapped inside this mirror, and have been for so long."
"Oh. How?"
"My aunt was a witch, and to protect me, she put me into this mirror. Unfortunately I had to watch her be hung and burned on a crucifix by her husband, my father."
"Oh, um, I'm sorry."
"Oh, there's no need. My father would have killed me too, the same way in fact, and I've learned to cope."
"How does the mirror thing work?"
"I can only explore the mirrored room, and any attached rooms that have the door open. Like your bathroom. I can also touch, pick up, and move things within the room. Which can also have the affect on your room on your side of the mirror."
"Wow."
"Oh, and sorry for eating your breakfast after you left." She said with a sincere look. It was kind of cute.
"Oh, I don't mind. You can do that all you want. I'm fat, so I don't eat breakfast."
She looked at me like I just stole the last piece of candy. "You take that back!" She said, as she grabbed my reflection by chin, which then pulled me closer to the mirror. She looked so intense it scared me. "Alright! Alright! I take it back!" She let go, and I almost lost balance. "Ricky. I saw the things that you wrote about yourself. And just so we're clear, people who think that about you are the stupid ones. Not you."
"I don't think I remember telling you my name."
"That's because you didn't. I heard your mother say it."
"Oh."
"Ricky! Come to the kitchen!" My mom yelled.
"I'll be back."
"Alright, you better!" Nova said with a chuckle. And I couldn't help but to watch her as I walked out of the room.
