14 The End of Forth Rite City

(Author's Note: Released a little early, because I wanted to write the end of the city taking chapters.)

"Oh? Why is that?" Treech asked with interest.

He had been watching DeathTones mana and health levels in his HUD for a while now. His mana was basically empty and his health was also low. So he was curious about his plan. He could take a few guesses about it. Perhaps he had access to an item like the [Shooting Star] ring that he used, which could temporarily put him on even ground with him. But even then, Treech had a few backup plans in case of this very scenario.

'The only thing I can't fully predict in my plan, are the effects of any World-class items. But these were designed to be the Jokers of Yggdrasil. They change the game entirely.' Treech said in his mind.

In fact, Treech had a slight sliver of hope all this time that a World-class item might make its appearance. That was why he had slight anticipation and waiting for DeathTones to finish what he had prepared. He was cautious, but he also needed to be confident. He would see exactly what the enemy had planned for him now.

DeathTone's smile curled in arrogance, despite him losing so one-sidedly moments ago and his HP and MP being low, he was enjoying this moment.

"Haha, do it." He spoke to both Treech and DinnerPlate with the [Message] spell.

...

Dinnerplate stood in the center of the 11 magic circles as the skill activated. It prompted him to select a wish from the list of options provided and to utter the command words to finish the spell.

Dinnerplate sacrificed 10% of his experience and he saw a random list of 3 wishes he could ask for. But none of them was a dispelling wish for greater creatures.

'Damn it, damn it... damn it!'

Dinnerplate continued to sacrifice his experience over and over. He increased the amount to gain access to more wish options in his list. The way the spell worked was the more common wishes would appear first and the more rare wishes would appear less often. But you could sacrifice any amount of experience you wanted so that the wish options in the list would increase.

Inside the mechanics of the spell, it categorized wishes into two categories: Minor Wishes and Major Wishes. Minor wishes had a chance to appear more frequently and they had the highest chance to be accepted, but they were only small modifications or things to the world. Whereas Major Wishes could change even the magic system if it succeeded, it was needless to say these wishes rarely come true.

Finally, after Dinnerplate had sacrificed over 11 levels, it end up with over a hundred options on the wish list. He saw the wish options for dispelling Primordial beings of great power. Without hesitation, he selected it and spoke out the command word, ignoring the pain in his heart for losing a third of his total level in cost.

"I wish to dispel the summoning of all primordial elementals nearby."

"[Super Tier Spell: Wish Upon A Star]"

The spell circles hummed and pulsed as the spell finally activated.

...

Treech glanced over as he heard the low hum coming from the wall of the city on the opposite side, nearest his Primordial Living Lands. He cast [Fly] on himself to quickly watch from a good vantage point and decide his course of action. DeathTones couldn't do anything to him right now as he was completely spent. He looked across the battlefield of undead and plants and saw the telltale and familiar signs of a Super Tier Spell being cast.

'Oh. That's not as bad as I expected.' Treech thought.

He expected the worst-case scenario of some unknown World Item holder appearing from a guild base and doing something completely unexpected. In such a case he would simply withdraw and attack in a few days because he had already eliminated the NPC defender army of the city.

The Primordial Living Lands had already destroyed one of the magic defensive towers and they had been attacking another one since a few moments ago. It would only be about another five minutes for the remaining two towers to be taken down, leaving the city vulnerable to any high-tier magic attacks.

The Super Tier Spell circle flashed and then... it shattered.

Treech floated there for a few moments to process what happened. He guessed the spell failed? He could see the man who cast the spell panicking. He turned to look back down at DeathTones.

DeathTones also had a look of disbelief on his face.

"Wha..t?" He collapsed to his knees as he felt his last bit of hope leaving him. He began to process how much his guild was about to lose from all this and he felt completely defeated. He looked up at Treech as he floated down to him. He smiled bitterly.

"What was the plan... if it would have worked?" Treech asked. He felt slightly bad for him, not as if that would stop him from victory, but he wished he could have fought the man with his full wit and plans to come to fruition. So he genuinely wanted to know.

"We were planning to dispel your summons. But I guess the [Wish Upon A Star] spell is not all-powerful as we hoped." DeathTones said as he shook his head.

"Obviously there are limits. But I am confused, would a spell caster make such a mistake?"

"No, it was the [Shooting Star] ring. I contacted a man who had one." DeathTones answered.

Treech almost couldn't hold back a laugh. He giggled a bit before hiding it with a cough.

"*Cough, ah yes, and did you get his name? The guy, who had the ring" Treech asked.

"His name was Dinnerplate."

"Hahahahaha that's such a great ending! Hahaha," Treech started laughing loudly when he realized that the same fools that robbed him tried to use his own ring against him. But the spell failed for them, probably due to trying to grant a Major Wish, thus they probably deleveled themselves down with the stolen item.

"Karmas a bitch." Treech smiled.

"Alright, I need to end this now. Thank you for telling me that, Pfftt hahaha"

Treech then finished him off. DeathTones was confused about why he seemed to have known about Dinnerplate, but he didn't get the chance to ask about it. His body burst into specs of light and he left some items dropped on the ground. He ignored the message saying he was penalized for killing another player and flew over to Forth Rite city. The final magic defense tower had been destroyed by the time he got there, his plant forces had also surrounded the city and his 3 towering Primordial Living Lands stood, awaiting orders.

He noticed the 3 respectless bastard players trying to hurry inside of the city wall. He could just barely make out DinnerPlates level being 19 while the other 2 were in their 30s. He started giggling again, just seeing that.

"Now, time to get my earnings."

Treech then cast the spell he had prepared to completely wipe out the remaining inhabitance of Forth Rite city. He doubted a monster player could just 'take over' a city. He read on the forums that humanoid and demi-human players didn't have access to the territory expansion quests that heteromorphic players did. He would probably have to act as a full-on monster and destroy the city to gain any rewards, just like how he had wiped out the goblins earlier.

He chanted his spell with no resistance from the city below, he hovered high in the air and his mana was consumed for the 10th Tier Spell [Comet Impact].

"[Twin Maximize Magic: Comet Impact]" He shouted as the Astromancer spell circles pulsed.

Shortly after, the sky darkened as two speeding comets flew down towards the city. They had aurora-like trials of light mixed in with the comet dust as it came closer and closer to the city. The second comet was much smaller and it followed behind the first one, like a tail. Light blue crystal ice fell off them, mixed with the fire entering the atmosphere, making a beautiful contrast of fire and ice descending. The players in the city watched from inside the city, as the comets collided with them, obliterating the city and everyone in it.

"Wish I could have done that from the start." Treech habitually rubbed his branches. Suddenly, he heard a system announcement that he had never heard before. It was sent out to all the players in Yggdrasil.

========***++++***========

Congratulations to Player [Treech] for completing a World Achievement.

Achievement level: Grand

Name: One Man Army

Description:

Destroy a city, and take/clear multiple territories, by yourself within a day.

========***++++***========

Treech was a bit happy that his hard work was recognized by the Yggdrasil AI, and also this was the first time he had heard of the World Achievement system.

========***++++***========

Congratulations to Player [Treech] for being awarded for your Achievement.

World-Class Item: [Conqueror's Merit]

Note: Yggdrasil and the developer team support such outstanding achievements.

Go forth strongly players!

Now, Treech was really stunned. He did not expect to get a World-class item just like that. And also... the system announced it to everyone all at once too. He sighed and smiled bitterly. At least this way he could have some fun challengers if people covet his rewards. Finally, Treech got one final message sent to his HUD directly from the achievement. Thankfully, this one was private and not broadcast to all the 9 realms.

========***++++***========

Congratulations to Player [Treech] for being awarded for your Achievement.

He took a glance at the message before closing its tab. He would choose that reward later. First, he needed to see the effects of his World Class item. He went into his inventory and selected a small black orb item that was [Conquest's Merit]. He pulled it out and held it in his hand. It looked like a snowglobe, but it was made of obsidian and there was nothing visible inside it.

========***++++***========

[Conquest's Merit]

[Item Tier]: World Item

[Use/Description]: A dynamically changing table of figurines. It has its effects change in real-time. The user can use it to look through the terrain, all forms of invisibility (Other than world-class items), and see the basic stats information of units present on figurines on the table. The table mimics the surroundings within 450 miles of its location and 25 miles into the earth and sky onto the board.

[Comments]:

The item only belongs to the victor. When the holder is defeated, its ownership will pass to the winner.

Gifted to Treech from the Yggdrasil AI for single-handedly taking down a city and multiple territories in under 3 hours. An event that proved he deserved his position as the number 1 player.

Treech read the description and felt immense excitement. Isn't this the perfect World item for general and command class players? The potential for scouting things alone would make dungeon exploration extremely easy. He flew down to the ground and activated the black globe. It sprung out and transformed into a black obsidian table with rough edges. Then the table began to transform and shift as the landscapes and colors became apparent. He saw the swamp forests, the redwood trees in the distance, and the ruins of the city next to him all represented on the table below him. He even saw a figurine of himself looking over the table on the board.

'Trippy.' Treech shook his head and recalled the item back into its black globe form.

He then spent the next half an hour picking up all the dropped items around the destroyed city and crater of the comet's impact. He only had a short time left before the other members of the 3 guilds were able to leave the [Labyrinth of Khiss]. And he expected them to be hot on his heels with the information that he possessed a World-Class Item released. He finally gave up looting all the items as he had hit the time limit he set for himself: about 15 minutes before the guilds could leave the dungeon.

"Time to go see if that kid learned something." Treech dispelled his summons, including the Primordial Living Lands, and flew off towards the redwood trees in the distance, where he had first summoned the Living Lands.

(Author's Note: Alright, well we wrapped up everything and the MC got a great reward. I was allowed to give him this since the lore said Ainz Oowl Gown got the [Throne of Kings] for doing a great achievement. So here's the MC's achievement.)

(Author's Note: I added my Pat reon if you feel like donating a few dollars. Then that's great. https://www.pat reon.com/foxspy?fan_landing=true)
