Yet Another Ray With A System

Yet another victim of Ray Elliot, Emperor of a multiverse. He return to the time of his transmigration just after his death and killed the ROB but in another parallel multiverse to change his parallel self fate just for fun. His parallel self didn't take it too kindly though after all the abuse he have to face in the name of tutorial. He was thrown into a zombie infested world to be baptized by fire before starting his real multiverse transmigration. ——— I'm bad at making synopsis but that's the gist of it. (Disclaimer, My fic is trash. Don't read if dear reader dislike trash fics - Sincerely, Author.) ——— Upload is not yet confirm since I made this at the spur of moment. ——— Cover isn't mine, I just snag it from google. ——— Also, whenever I ask for a vote. I wouldn't care anymore after the next chapter released because the decision already been made and change according the the votes would be incredibly bothersome and time consuming. (Sorry if this sound rude but some people are voting after the decision are made and they might have expectations that their choice will be followed. I have to clarify this to prevent some of them getting angry I didn't follow the vote anymore.)

Chapter 113

(Info dump inbound.)

Let's see… These Job Class seem awfully similar to the YGGDRASIL Job Class in Overlord. To unlock the Job Class one needs to achieve the requirements. For example, swordsmen are wielding a sword and Demon Contractor that he unlocked recently is to enter a pact with Demon.

Basic Job Class like Swordsmen have 15 levels to upgrade while Advance Job Class like Demon Contractor only up to ten levels. Meanwhile the rarer or unique Job Classes only up to five levels. Also, while speaking of rare and unique Job Classes. Ray already had not one but two. Those Job Classes with ridiculously long names being Infinity Dragon God Summoner and Primordial Demon Lilith's Contractor.

Though, even if those classes are available to take, Ray still needs the lower branches of the Job Class before he could take the unique Job Classes.

The breakdown of the Infinity Dragon God Summoner Job Class being;

-(Mage[Basic]> Adept Mage[Advance] > Summoner[Basic] > Arch Summoner[Advance] > Dragon Summoner[Rare]) Total 55 Levels

-(Priest[Basic] > Dragon Devout[Special] > Dragon Priest[Advance]) Total 30 Levels

-(Dragon Summoner + Dragon Priest > Infinity Dragon God Summoner[Unique]) Total All 90 Levels

Just to achieve this one Unique class already took almost 70% of his availability levels for his Job Class.

Even though the amount of benefits it grants is proportionally great. This decision will affect his future as there's nothing as resetting levels like in game. Once he did it, there's no coming back. Not to mention his main way of combat is still by firearms and equipment from his SAS 4 system. His magic is still far from being dependable in battle, especially when most of his enemies now outlevelled him.

Firearms have stacking bonuses from his skills to still be usable in current battle but magic is next to useless as it only wastes his energy to cast but does next to no damage at all.

The Mage Job Class from the Unique Job Class can boost his magic damage output to be usable. But, why try to force his secondary method of attack to be usable when he can do the same to upgrade his firearm related Job Classes to boost his already strongest means of attack to even higher levels.

For that, he found one that basically covered his needs. A rare Job Class that covers his firearms and other weapons while also including leadership. The name of the Job Class is Warmaster. A very versatile Job Class that can be achieved through multiple ways and not restricted to a particular specific Job Class unlike the previous one and easy to unlock too. The requirement is basically to have once led an army. The number isn't specified but Ray did once which fulfilled the requirement.

The breakdown of the Warmaster Job Class is;

1- (Archer[Basic] > Marksman[Advance] ) + (Blacksmith[Basic] + Artificer [Basic] > Gunsmith[Advance]) > Gunner [Advance] (75 lvls)

2- Warrior[Basic]+Monk[Basic] > Martial Artist [Advance*]

2- Rogue[Basic]+Archer > Blade Dancer [Advance*]

2- (Warrior > Barbarian[Advance])+(Warrior > Gladiator[Advance]) > Juggernaut [Advance*]

2- Martial Artist + Blade Dancer + Juggernaut > Weapon Master [Advance] (100 lvls)

3- (Warrior > Knight[Advance]) + (Acolyte[Basic] > Scholar[Advance]) >Commander [Advance] (30 lvls)

4- Gunner + Weapon Master > Firearm Grand Master[Rare]

5- Firearm Grand Master + Commander > Warmaster[Special] (Total 230 Levels)

[Gunner]

-A upper branch of range weapon users that are adept in manufacturing firearms and using them in combat. A mix of combat and support Job Class from Artificer.

[Weapon Master]

-A master practitioner in martial arts discipline for a wide range of weaponry. Able to wield any weapon without limitation and mastery as if they had trained for their whole life with. Any martial skills that were once restricted by weapon type are now able to be used freely without limitation. Any weapon being wielded will perform better and less likely to be damaged.

(Basically a downgraded Eternal Arms Mastery with the limit being confined to weapons only. Means he cannot turn a fork into a deadly weapon but any 'weapon' will become deadly in his hand.)

[Firearm Grand Master]

-Retain all effects from Weapon Master. Only for 'Firearms', can be wielded with pinnacle mastery. None can be his/her rival other than another Grand Master.

[Commander]

-Despite the name, this Job Class is a support Job Class that focuses a lot on charisma and supporting skills. Even if the commander is nothing but a careless fool, with enough charisma he can convince his soldiers to die for him. The role of a commander is to lead his army in battle. To provide order during the chaos and find weaknesses in the enemies. A real commander will inspire the troops morale with his mere presence in the battlefields and even at the brink of destruction, the soldiers will fight to the last man as long as a commander is still leading the battle.

(Quite long but I stole the description from some wiki.)

[Warmaster of ???]

(If you don't know this is from 40K and the description is almost the same. Don't wanna waste more word count on info dump.)

Ray is basically sold on the Warmaster Job Class but his level is insufficient to obtain it immediately. Thus he only takes the Gunner and Commander Job Class. The Weapon Master Job Class he put aside for now.

———

Returning to his awareness, Ray closed the system screen and tried to feel the difference but was disappointed to find none.

"Something feels different… You become stronger… No. Your raw power becomes refined." Lilith, who stood next to Ray despite Lancelot's opposition, commented with a surprised look.

"No wonder the heroes get strong and grow in number very fast. The others need tens of years refining their raw strength, yet a hero can do it in a blink of an eye."

Ray can feel the very uncomfortable look from Lilith like a hungry wolf wanted to pounce on a piece of meat covered by a metal cage. The metal cage being the contract that protects Ray from Lilith.

Ignoring the look from Lilith, Ray returns to checking the new changes on his body while the damn elevator is doing its work.

Like he didn't expect the amount of time spent here would be this long. With teleportation and etcetera available to the Hub, he didn't expect the Elevator would need to work manually. He already spent 5 minutes staring into space.

Yes, space. Like actual space that exists outside of Earth. Filled with galaxies and stars. As if these layers are separated by light years. If his guess is true then he didn't find it weird why he can't contact the satellite. Ophis though, Ray has absolutely no idea how their link was blocked. Probably it's the Hub's doing. Only the Hub in Ray's opinion is a higher existence than Ophis or at least the creator of the Hub and its governing system.

Switching the thing he is testing, Ray grabs Arondight with hand.

Just like that, a small explosion of knowledge happened in his head. The knowledge of swordsmanship from his Warrior and Knight Job Class. Basic stances, swings, blocking, parrying to advance ones, all came to his body very naturally like he had trained his whole life when just an hour ago, his swordsmanship is as sloppy as an apprentice. The only reason he can fight with a sword is either a greatsword that allows him to use brute force or an extremely strong sword like Arondight.

Ray uses the available time in the Elevator, waiting to reach their destination, the Zeroth layer, to test his swordsmanship.

The skill he tests is a particular skill used to measure someone's swordsmanship proficiency, physical strength and his form. A single slash that produces multiple cuts. The higher the number, the greater the proficiency and the strength of the swordsman. While the smoothness of the cut will determine the perfection of the form. According to the knowledge inserted into his head.

The skill was said to be a trump cards of an exceptional Warrior-Captain. The skill is developed by him and carries him to fame as one of the strongest humans in the world.

Getting into stance feels as natural as breathing to him which feels very alien. Like his body moves before his head could register. Then he made a slash on the thin air and managed to produce 4 slashes. Not enough. He knew he could at least do a triple of the number he just did but the movement felt very strange to his body because it has muscle memories but not the muscle built for those actions. His muscles feel strained on multiple parts around his limbs.

"Hmn, what a curious sword skill." Lilith commented out of boredom when Ray ignored her earlier.

"Why would you say so?" Ray replied out of curiosity.

Lilith uses a blade which means she definitely is more skilled than Ray and has a better view on this topic than what his brain could ever comprehend and came out with.

"The skill isn't made for someone with great talent. A perfect skill for you to master since the talented swordsman could never master it without understanding its intent. It is made by and for talentless but stubborn and hard working swordsmen that are willing to spend more time practicing it."

"Only by training endlessly, perfecting the stance and form of this sword style can one master this skill and push it beyond." Lilith explained but Ray couldn't really wrap his head around her words which made her sighed.

"Let me show you the correct way to use this skill." Lilith backs away to a corner of the spacious Elevator platform and conjures a boulder.

She unsheathed her hidden blade before performing the similar sword skill with extreme speed and grace that Ray couldn't even see the blade's movement. He could only see the lines that slowly appeared after Lilith sheathed her blade and the boulder split by the numerous cuts that appeared on its surface.

"I hold myself back to your level to perform the skill. Guess how many slashes I did."

"12?" Ray guessed because he could only see a portion of the slashes.

"Wrong, my dear contractor. I did 36 slashes and that's with your level of strength." Lilith corrected with a smug smile behind her veil and the tone of a kindergarten teacher correcting her students.

"I feel generous today and I will grant you an opportunity to accept me as your instructor, free of charge." Lilith offered since this is beneficial to her goal.

"Don't overstep your boundaries, demon." Lancelot, who had enough of Lilith, found it hard to listen to Ray's order to not be hostile to one another.

Lancelot thinks Lilith cannot be trusted even with the magic contract. Feeling it's his duty to prevent this demon from swaying his lord, Lancelot must be prepared to intervene at any moment. After all, he had been with Ray long enough to know that Ray is easily swayed, especially in his vulnerable moments when none of those he can rely on is there to advise him.

Thankfully they are on the way to meeting Raynare. Raynare is the only one amongst Ray's wife that have a clear and strong grip on Ray to prevent him from straying down the wrong path. All he needs to do is to stall this demon and prevent her advance until they meet Raynare.

"Ray, a demon will not provide something for free. There must be trickery behind it." Lancelot successfully counters Lilith by placing a seed of doubt in Ray's mind to hesitate on accepting the demon's offer.

"Your words hurt me, knight. My intention is pure and it's true that I'm trying to offer him free instruction on swordsmanship. I genuinely wanted him to be stronger so he would have a higher chance battling the gods later." Lilith made a hurtful tone when replying but her veil masked her true face because she is strong enough to resist it.

Meanwhile Ray is still far from giving up. No, it's simply impossible to give up on Lilith. If he can bag her, he will have another being closest to Ophis in strength as his trump cards.

His Implant definitely wouldn't work because Lilith can resist it. But if he can find a way to make her be under his control, then it's wonderful. Ray thought while taking a glance at the Contract mark behind his right hand's palm.

Hopefully the Implant is a strong enough influence on Lilith to make her abandon her creator and listen to his order.

He didn't feel any guilt for doing this. Since Mammon definitely has something planned to double cross him. It's too suspicious for someone to just suddenly offer their full cooperation out of the blue without a purpose. Especially when it comes from Demon Prince that represents the Sin of Greed.

Sorry there is a mistake like missing paragraph on the latter part, my Google doc crashed and idk if the crash caused a problem. Hopefully none.
