When Ye Roulan got home everyone had gone to bed except for Ye Xiying and Feng Xiao. She bade them goodnight and was about to go to her room when Feng Xiao called her "Roulan".Ye Roulan turned abruptly " Yes, stepmother". Anytime her father wasn't around she addressed her as stepmother. "Can you spare a minute?" Feng Xiao asked " of course".

Then they went into the study room. "What is it you want to say?" Roulan asked." Roulan dear," Feng Xiao said in her sweetest voice. "Roulan, you want to become an actress don't you? Do you have a company to sign you on?" she asked looking at Roulan earnestly. "No, stepmother" Roulan replied. Feng Xiao secretly smiled. 'This will be my chance to cast my net'. "Alright then, why don't you join Glorious entertainment".

Roulan smiled. She now knew where the conversation was heading. Obviously, Feng Xiao wanted her under her wings. Glorious entertainment belonged to her and Ye xiying was an artiste under them.

'You obviously can't wait, Feng Xiao' Roulan thought. "Thanks for your concern stepmother, but my friend has arranged a manager for me". Roulan savoured the sour expression on Feng Xiao's face." No problem then if you still decide to come it is still open". "Thank you for your concern" Roulan said and left the study room. "Damn it!" Feng Xiao cursed.

After Roulan left, Ye xiying came in "Mother, what did she say?" she asked. "We have to look for other ways, Xiying". That one sentence made Xiying realise their plan had failed.
