8 Chapter 8
Ye Han woke up the next day and got ready, as he was going to meet someone important and wanted to look his best.
When he was ready, Gui Ling entered his room and handed him an Interspatial ring with 2 million and the list of all the businesses in the city that are close to shutting down due to por business.
Ye Han stored them and said to Gui Ling "Good job. You will get paid accordingly for this. Also, I will be busy from now, so I want you to be my personal cook. I spoke with father and he has instructed the family cook to teach you how to cook."
Ye Han ignored her thoughts, which were just curses directed at Ye Han, and left the room. He had to keep Gui Ling busy that day, so he arranged for this.
He then left the family and headed straight to the training grounds. He had asked Yang Xin to meet him that day, so she was waiting for him at the entrance of the training grounds.
When Ye Han arrived at the entrance of the training grounds, he found Yang Xin waiting for him, carrying her usual herb collecting basket. He walked up to her and said "Follow me, I need your help with something. You don't have to bring that herb basket though."
Yang Xin looked at Ye Han for a while and after thinking about all the dangers of denying him, she agreed. She quickly ran to her room and threw her basket in her room, returned back as soon as possible.
Ye Han then took her through the city and Yang Xin asked out of curiosity "Young master Ye Han, may I ask where you are taking me?" as they had crossed the main city and were headed to the outskirts of the city. She felt that Ye Han was planning something shady.
Ye Han, after reading her thoughts, said "Relax, if I want to do something to you, I don't even have to bring you here. The training grounds would be more than enough."
"Fair enough" she said and followed Ye Han silently. They were outside the city and in some forests. It didn't have any demons, as it is inside the city. Yang Xin was still curious as to where he was taking her, until she saw smoke rising up in the direction they are headed and asked "Young master Ye Han, is that where we are headed?" and Ye Han nodded.
She was confused as to whom he wanted to meet in the middle of nowhere. As they got closer to the smoke, They could see that it was coming out of a wooden house, which was barely holding itself up and looked like it would fly off with the wind.
Ye Han walked to the hut and knocked on the door. As he waited for a reply, he felt something strange. Ye Han could read the thoughts of anyone in 50 metre radius, that is the initial range. He could take it upto 200 metres in his previous life.
Still, he couldn't feel anyone except Yang Xin in a 50 metre radius. That was weird, as there was smoke coming out of the chimney, which meant there is still fire burning in the house.
Just as he was turning around to observe his surroundings, something came flying to him from his right and punched him in the jaw, sending him flying.
Ye Han crashed into a tree and screamed in pain. He fell down and that's when he saw who attacked him. There was a bird-like human flying above Yang Xin. It is the Divine Fire Roc (This demon spirit has various names, I went with the one that is short.) and he is a gold rank spiritualist.
"Where the f*ck is my bodyguard when I need him the most. Is he really a bodyguard or just a spy?" Ye Han said as he got up. The spiritualist looked at Ye Han and asked "What does the young master of the Snow Wind Family want with me?"
"That is one good way of welcoming someone." Ye Han said and the spiritualist said "I guess you need a good beating before you start talking." flying towards Ye Han.
Ye Han was also waiting for this. He held out his hand and used Black vortex, covering his hand with black flames. It pulled the spiritualist towards Ye Han, who wanted to move away from the pull, but couldn't, as he was already close to Ye Han.
With no way of escaping, he let Ye Han pull him closer and when he got closer, he went to punch Ye Han, but Ye Han's hands had already touched the spiritualist, who immediately lost connection with his soul realm and returned back to his usual self.
The spiritualist had grey hair and was old, with a wrinkled face and long moustache and beard. He had brown eyes.
He was shocked, but he still didn't stop his punch. which landed on Ye Han's face again. This time however, both Ye Han and the spiritualist were sent flying, with Ye Han's Balck vortex refusing to let the spiritualist go.
Ye Han crashed through two trees and was barely able to stand. He still threw the spiritualist on the ground and shouted "How do you like this bastard? Black hole"
Black flames spread from his feet and started pulling the spiritualist inside. Since the spiritualist was flat on his back on the ground, he couldn't escape.
If he was on his feet, he could have escaped by cutting his legs. This is something he observed after many trials. The black hole doesn't let anything escape until he himself uses liberation. He also has to use liberation immediately, as the gravity inside the black hole crushes everything.
Ye Han shouted "Why don't you attack me now old man? If you don't submit to me in 30 counts, you are going to become a ball of flesh and blood."
Ye Han expected the spiritualist to beg for his life, but he was embracing his death. He then turned to Yang Xin, who had no clue what was happening and didn't want to get involved in Ye Han's mess, and said "Yang Xin, this here is your grandfather, your only relative alive but now, he also wants to leave you and die. You are going to become a true orphan after this."
This made the old man open his eyes wide in shock and asked Ye Han "I thought you were here to kill me, but it looks like you want something from me. Release me, I will help you."
Ye Han obviously didn't believe the old man, because his thoughts were "Brat, you crossed the line by bringing my granddaughter into this. Don't blame me for being ruthless now."
Ye Han still undid his Balck hole and immediately when the old man got up to punch him, a hand caught his fist and Ye Han said "Took you long enough. I don't have strength to stay awake. I will take rest. Remember, I want both of them captured alive."
He then lost consciousness and the old man looked at the man holding his fist. He wasn't a fool to fight with a black-gold rank spiritualist. Ye Han's bodyguard finally makes an appearance at the end of the battle.
"I don't know if you are brave or stupid to attack him even knowing that he would have a bodyguard." the bodyguard said and the old man said "I released my killing intent long before he arrived at my house. Seeing that there was no reaction from you, I decided to attack."
"So, what are you going to do now? If you co-operate, it would be painless for both you and your granddaughter or else...." the bodyguard said and the old man turned to Yang Xin. He looked at her and then turned to him and said "Bring him to my house. We will wait for him to wake up."
The old man didn't want to drag Yang Xin into the mess and decided to co-operate. As for Yang Xin, she was completely shocked and confused as to what was happening.
They headed into the old house and waited till Ye Han, who was among the only ones who knew what was happening, to wake up. Yang Xin was thinking about what Ye Han said about the old man being his grandfather. She wanted to confirm it with the old man, but didn't know how to start the conversation, if he was her actual grandfather.
They waited for an hour, with an awkward silence in the house, until Ye Han slowly opened his eyes and woke up.
Ye Han looked at his bodyguard, who had purple hair, the usual color of anyone from the Snow Wind Family. He had beard, which wasn't long like the elders of the family. It was like that of an middle aged man who didn't shave his beard for a month.
The bodyguard said "Go on brat, I am waiting for you to thank me." and Ye Han raised an eyebrow when he heard that. Ye Han asked "Are you seriously asking me that after looking at the state I am in?"
"It isn't my fault. I was instructed not to interfere in any battle untill the enemy threatens your life or your cultivation." the bodyguard said and the old man who attacked Ye Han asked "Does that mean I can beat him up how much ever I want if I make sure he wouldn't die or loose his cultivation?"
Ye Han glared at him and said "Let me finish things with my bodyguard first. I will get to you later."
He then turned to the bodyguard and said "*sigh* Although you let me get beaten up, you still saved my life. So, how should I address you?" he asked his name in the end.
The bodyguard asked "Don't you know how to respect your elders?" which Ye Han completely ignored. The bodyguard said " I am Ye Ming, among the few black-gold rank of Snow Wind Family."
(Ye Ming is a character in the novel who was just mentioned by Ye Han. Ye Han of the novel said that he was the only elder who supported him and he died protecting Ye Han in the outside world.)
"Glad to meet you senior Ye Ming. Now, if you will excuse me, I have to play around with an old man who almost killed me." Ye Han said and turned to the old man who was sitting behind my bodyguard.
Ye Ming disappeared and Ye Han looked at the old man. Ye Han said "So, now that you are willing to talk, I am here with a deal that involves both of you. Wait, what should I call you first? Yang Fei or Ye Sha?"
The old man wasn't surprised by this and said "I already expected this when you told her that I am her grandfather. Call me Yang Fei, I don't have anything to do with that name Ye Sha. So what now, do you want me to tell you about the Sacred family or tell you the secret documents of the Snow Wind Family?"
"Before we get into the details of my deal, I shall first clear all the doubts Yang Xin has. She looks like a kid who got lost in a festival, not knowing what to do." Ye Han said and turned to Yang Xin.
He started explaining "Yang Xin, your actual name is Ye Xin and this here is your grandfather Ye Sha. He was the librarian of the main family and he comes from a branch family.
14 years ago, your grandfather had colluded with the Sacred family and sold them copies of cultivation techniques from the family. Our library has cultivation techniques other than the usual snow wind cultivation, which were collected by the family during the age of darkness.
Your father here, copied some techniques the Sacred family can use, modifying them a little to not get discovered by the Snow Wind Family. But in the end, my grandfather Ye Mo found him and expelled him from the family.
By then, he already had a granddaughter Ye Xin. Your parents fled the city and are hiding from Sacred family, who want to get rid of the connection with this crime."
Yang Fei clenched his fist and said "Hiding my ass. The Sacred family wanted to kill all of us to hide the connection to the crime. Since my son and my daughter-in-law were only silver rank spiritualist, they couldn't escape the attack like me.
I managed to escape from them and went back to the Snow Wind Family for help. Your father Ye Zong was the one who thought for a while and abolished my cultivation and promised to not let anyone know that Yang Xin is my granddaughter in exchange for not spreading the cultivation techniques I stole from the library.
Actually, it was Ye Zong's first wife who requested Ye Zong to let Yang Xin live. So, I gave her the family name of her mother and I am living far from her to keep her safe, until you brought her here." he glared at Ye Han at the end.
Yang Fei continued "You are the main focus of all the families in the city. Now that they have seen Yang Xin together with you, she is no longer safe. I know your intentions. You deliberately brought her here through the city so that someone would see both of you together and target her. With no one to ask for safety, you can use us as you like." in an angry tone, making Ye Han smile.
