Chapter 1

☆GRAND MARKET OF EDEN☆

"STOP! THEIF!" the Nephilim jeweler cried giving chase to a young dark haired Eon boy.

The Nephilim were stronger then the Eon people. Faster. Since the blessings of the Gods had passed even the weakest of the them were too much for the Eon. But this boy had become a nuisance. He seemed to be playing a game with the wind.

"SOMEONE STOP HIM!"

"AFTER HIM." A group of Imperial Guards joined the hunt.

The boy expertly made his way through the market, avoiding stalls and people alike. Losing them seemed easy enough. One more turn and he'd be...

A guard stood in his path. He towered over him like a mountain.

Kyo had made sure to remember all the Imperial Guards of Eden and there was no mistaking that blade. The Serpent, a giant two-handed scimitar embroidered in jewels. It was General Sied, the man who had enslaved his people.

"Someone has been busy. Haven't you boy?"

A cheap grin covered his face. To the Nephilim the Eon were weak. Meant to serve beneath their feet. And at the top of their ranks stood General Sied.

He turned to run but it was too late.

A giant palm thundered pass Kyo's face missing him by inches. Though he was big Sied was as fast as the snake that he was. To escape Kyo would have to think smart.

But before he could even react the hand came again with even more force. As if instinct Kyo volted using the force of the swing. He flipped onto an arch way stumbling from the massive amount of energy.

'This is only a portion of his power.'

"You won't escape."

The Serpent soared through the air at an incredible speed. The Archway was shattered beneath his feet, sending him to the other side as it fell blocking the path.

☆ALLEYS OF EDEN☆

Kyo got back to his feet as quickly as possible. He knew that with Sied's power there was no chance of survival. Escape was his only option.

He sprinted through the allies as fast as he could. A few guards turned to attempt a chase but they were far too slow.

'Who was this Eon boy?'

It was sunset by the time he escaped. The city guard was now on high alert and if he were to make it home, now would be his chance.

He slowly emerged from his hiding place, senses sharper than ever. There seem to be no one around.

' The alleys were always so lively toward night.' he shook off the thought.

If he were to leave NOW was his chance.

He made his was down the corridor as quickly as possible. He had heard stories of what they did in the dungeons beneath the castle. Agonizing stories. Ones he did not want to find out first hand.

Monsterous howls roared around him.

"Wolves."

A dagger appeared in his hand.

The legends had said no one in Xion could use magic after the God War but Kyo had felt a connection to the shadows for as long as he could remember. And they had protected him.

(Sence) was the first skill that he learned. The ability to feel some sort of energy from all creatures.

(Blades of the Abyss) was the second. One that he had resently learned. Summon the infinite blades of the dark void.

He had been able to summon almost any weapon but all where uneasy for him. All but the daggers.

"They're here."

Bright red eyes seemed to glow from the shadows. Teeth as sharp as razors bared for all to see. The alpha was a bit bigger than the others resembling a hell hound from the gates of Tartarus.

In the blink of an eye a wolf was on him, then another.

Blood ran the alleyway as the wolves fell to the floor. The fight had been easy but he knew the apha wouldn't be as eager to die.

It stepped forward as if challenging him to single combat.

He through his blade but it was easily caught in the beasts fangs.

He quickly resummoned his blade to his hand preparing to battle.

A whistle screeched through the now night sky. The smaller wolves retreated as he continued to lock eyes with the alpha. This was no ordinary wolf, he could tell.

And as quickly as they appear they were gone.

☆SAMUEL'S PAWNSHOP☆

The flames of the shop lanterns dance in the hollow wind. The night was lifeless for the first time. The moon was full tonight. Full moons were when the shadows were the strongest.

He stepped through the snow blossom wood door frame. Two mercenaries stood sentry at the front of the shop. They were twins, Nina and Nila, daughters of the Imperial Advisor Nelle.

"You stirred up alot of noise today haven't you Mr. Kyo?" Samuel spoke gracefully.

Samuel was the only son of General Sied. Like his father they shared a sadistic outlook on the world. Eon meant nothing and the Nephilim were to inherit Xion. But Samuel seen profit in results.

"Samuel."

" I take it you having something for me."

Kyo pulled a necklace from his pouch. The jewels glimmered in the night light. It was hypnotic. Spell binding even. He had spent the morning stealing it and he had hoped it was worth it.

Samuel's eyes glimmered with excitement for just a moment before returning to his calculative moniker.

"It seems to be authentic. I can give you 400 gold pieces for it." Samuel hagled.

"We both know this is worth 5000 in the market."

"It's also stolen. Do you think I didn't hear about your run in with my father? There's probably a bigger price on your head."

Nina and Nila place their hands on the hilts of their swords, ready to attack at Samuel's order.

Kyo could sense an increase in aggressive energy. He knew he could probably take the twins, but if he killed Samuel the entire Imperial Dominion would be after him.

Kyo's eyes began to glow white.

Samuel felt an unfamiliar presence rush past him like a gust of wind in the Darkness. This cold darkness cut him to the bone filling him with both fear and anger. He began to suffer.

The torches on the wall went out on their own.

Nina began to draw her blade but Samuel's frantic voice stopped her.

"Fine! I will give you 2000 and nothing more."

The darkness in him cleared and his vision began to return.

Kyo's eyes returned to their natural color. And the flames in the room grew again...

"Nice doing business with you."
