If it hadn't been a life-or-death situation, I never would have acted that way. 

Regardless of whether it was Maya's decision or my plea, she did help me when I was in trouble.

I pulled out a health potion and a mana potion, handing them to Maya. 

She hesitated but eventually accepted them.

Her lack of trust stung. 

How could she look at me with such disgust and doubt because of a single mistake?

I pushed those feelings aside and drank a mana potion myself.
