Six uniformed servants of the Wang Family, all standing at 1.8 meters tall, carried the brass coffin on their shoulders, their expressions solemn like an honor guard, as they ascended the steps to the Wang family villa.
A red flag draped over the brass coffin, fluttering and clanging in the wind—a sight reminiscent of a state leader's funeral, such was the grandeur of the scene that could've unfolded with but a few reporters present.
The coffin was gently placed in the living room of the villa, which had already been arranged as a mourning hall.
An elderly man dressed in a Tang suit stood in front of the coffin in grief, supported by two middle-aged men. With his silver hair and deep wrinkles, he commanded awe and respect, and everyone acted according to the expressions on his face.
"Open the coffin, let me see my grandson one last time," the elder said in sorrow.
