Chapter 4:You didn't forget my name

"Excuse me sir" Bimbo called out in a sultry voice but it seems Jerkface was lost in thoughts.

 "Miss Morris is here already!" she snapped, rudely calling out his attention. Jerkface jerked out of his dazed state and stared straight at bimbo.

"Leave us" he demanded. She was about to leave when he added "and Kara?" Bimbo immediately turned back with a smile 

"You're fired" he said in a calm way that screamed deadly.

 I blinked rapidly and turned back to see bimbo with a horrified look.

"Two options. You leave peacefully or I call security". He spoke picking up his office phone in a casual manner that didn't seem like he was laying a threat.

 Less than I could blink my eyes open, bimbo was out the door.

Wow.

"Have a seat" he motioned me over after the door was shut and I willed myself to play nice. It didn't sound like an order after all.

 I waited for him to say something but he was just staring which made me feel uncomfortable. What??? Is this some other side of him??? Creepy and annoying? What a combination.

"Uhm can we like get down to business?" This made him snap out of his head but before he could respond, a knock came through his door.

"Come in". He snapped, irritated.

"Chills bro, it's just your favorite brother" I scrunch my face in confusion. Why did that person's voice sound so familiar?

"Well it's not like I have options seeing as you're my only brother". Mason no Jerkface spoke trying to sound annoyed but I knew he was anything but. The soft look on his face proved otherwise.

 I didn't have siblings, same as Liv, Candice and Vanny but I've seen Mia and her siblings bicker and act like they'd kill each other but it's all love with them and they would do anything for each other. That look was what Jerkface was spotting now.

The other guy chuckled "Hello brother"

"Hey kiddo" Jerkface replied with a smirk 

"I'm just gonna let it slide today" The voice grumbled and for the first time I saw a real smile from Jerkface not a smirk and he actually looks good with it. You don't need a genius to tell you he loves his brother a lot.

Their bickering actually put a smile on my face and I guess Jerkface noticed because he cleared his throat and blessed me with his usual Stone cold expression.

"Uhm Ty, meet___

"Riele?" The voice interrupted and I quickly turned back to the person wondering how he knew my name.

 Upon close inspection and a lot of hard work put in my head into remembering him I finally got it.

"Hi Tyler " I said a little uncomfortable and He smiled in response.

"You didn't forget my name?".

"Was I supposed to?" His smile grew bigger after my reply.

"Uhm am I missing something?" Almost forgot that jerkface was here.

"Not really, you remember the girl I told you about?" Tyler asked

"Uhm clumsy grocery girl?" Jerkface asked with a smirk.

'clumsy grocery girl? Lovely name' 

my subconscious mocked and I rolled my eyes telling her to shut the hell up. I looked up wondering why the conversation between them stopped but was surprised to find them looking at me weirdly. I came to the conclusion that I probably didn't shut my subconscious up in my head as I thought. 

"Oh forgive me, carry on," I said with an embarrassed smile. I rather them carry on and keep talking as if I wasn't at the same place with them rather than be stared at the way they were staring right now.

"Uhm... O...Kayyyy" Tyler said continuing his explanation but I felt uncomfortable because Jerkface kept staring.

"So yeah she's the girl". Tyler completed

"Really? This annoying lady?". Jerkface asked facepalming, looking disappointed at his brother. 

"Now what's that supposed to mean". I felt insulted.

"I...uhm Riele please forgive my brother, he tends to joke a lot". At Tyler's last word, Jerkface raised an eyebrow at him putting out the point he wasn't joking.

Even with that I still looked up at Tyler and smiled appreciatively. I won't let his idiot brother get under my skin today. 

"It's all good," I replied.

Tyler smiled "so if you don't mind me asking, what are you here for?"

"I have a contract with this company," I replied.

"How come I didn't know about a new contract in the company?. You always tell me everything new going on" Tyler turned to his brother with an accusatory stare.

"But I did, she's the CEO of Morris construction that I told you about". Tyler turned back to me looking shocked but then it was replaced with realization.

"Wow, it's no wonder". 

"No wonder what?" I looked at him.

"That day, I thought You looked exactly like USA's top ex model Christina Morris".

 I laughed and replied "yeah I get that a lot".

 My mother was an ex model now turned fashion designer. People tend to say I look a whole lot like her.

"Okay now that's done, can we carry on with the presentation" 

welcome Jerkface everyone!

"Mind if I stay brother?" Tyler asked.

"Yes actually___

"Okay thanks" Tyler interrupted his brother plopping down on the seat next to me. I couldn't help but let a small giggle slip out of me on seeing jerkface's expression. He gave me a death glare and I silenced myself laughing internally instead.

"Carry on" he demanded and I swallowed my snarky remark on how he ordered me. 

Like I said, this is for my father.

 Two hours later I found myself asking why people couldn't read minds. Here I was, still seated with Jerkface and Tyler after my presentation and they were yet to say anything. 

 I put a lot of work into this presentation and I really deserve an approval if I do say so myself, I mean I'm way too good to be lost honestly.

 As the CEO of the best construction company in the whole of the United States ,I am known for the best and only the best so I'm not bragging but if he lets me go, he's not going to find anyone better in constructing their newest hotel here in New York. 

"Wow". I was brought out of my thoughts by Tyler's voice.

"That's a really nice project plan you have for our new hotel". He smiled looking at me then turned to his brother "right brother?". I smiled at him and turned to his brother.

MASON'S POV

 They were both staring at me for my opinion and honestly Tyler was absolutely right. She nailed it and has a very brilliant idea.

 I wonder if this was what she tried to air the last time I was in her company, because I sure as hell heard nothing. I am never in the best of moods on Mondays, coupled with the fact the meeting was an impromptu one.

 She's really good and I know she knows this but the fact still remains that I am the one who has the final say here and she knows this too. I've heard a lot about their company in the media and lots more, which brings me to the question of how I didn't know her before now?. Had she been hiding from the cameras?

 Indeed she does look like her mother, more beautiful if I'm being truthful to myself. There's this something about her that I can't quite place my fingers on. I'm a very calculative person and her facial expression wavers sometimes and I catch her lost in thoughts too, it doesn't take a genius to know something made her this way. She must have probably been a boring sweet angel before this whole dramatic hard exterior she was now putting up, which I didn't buy. I didn't know what she was like before this but I like this challenging front she's showcasing. I found her very intriguing and interesting.

 So I came to a conclusion.

"Yes it's really great and I accept it". She looked surprised at my approval and I couldn't blame her. Guess I'm full of surprises. 

 Right from when she entered the office today, I already wanted to accept the deal, she spiked up some questions in my head, nothing sexual though ,just genuine curiosity. I could hear my subconscious snigger and I knew why. Okay fine I was first of all entranced by her beauty today. How come I didn't notice this on the first day?.

"Thank you, so when do we start the construction" I know she's trying to act like my decision didn't make her feel good but by the smile that almost slipped from her lips, I knew she was really happy and that made me smirk internally. 

 She was a case I was now willing to study and like every other one that has claimed tough I knew I'd crack the puzzle and win the prize.

 It was all games to me as usual.

"How about next Monday ". She seemed irritated by the word Monday and I smiled. Guess I'm not the only one who hates that day. 

"Yeah, sure no problem" she tried smiling politely but failed miserably.

Man, she hated my guts.

"Sweet. This means I'll be seeing you around Riele?". Tyler spoke up sounding like a teenager who saw his crush and it sounded fucking annoying. I even forgot he was still here. 

"Don't you have work to do at Richards' interiors". I asked, rolling my eyes. I love my brother but he can be unbearable sometimes.

"Nope, not at all" and just then a knock came through .

"Come in"

 Faye my other P.A came in walking like she was on a fucking runway and I laughed silently at Riele's eyebrow almost cutting through her hairline as she raised them.

"What is it Faye?"

"There's an invitation for the Richards family from the Owner of Lush modeling agency for the welcoming party of their two newest top models, Candice Livingston and Vanessa Hathaway" she spoke enthusiastically and I knew it's because all girls fangirl over these two models and I don't blame them, they're quite the sight. I know them from every beauty magazine and they're constantly talked about every chance celebrity news got.

I turned my eyes over to where Riele sat and watched as a small smile crept up on her face. Must be great seeing all your friends succeed . 

 Who doesn't know about the "star besties" as the internet puts it. I know each and every one of them and how they look, well except Riele which I only just found out about on Monday but I've never cared honestly. All beauty with brains, it's nice to know women nowadays are really hard working .

"Thank you, just leave it there" I pointed to a corner on my desk.

"Wow that means you're going, right Riele? I mean since y'all are best of friends" Tyler asked hopefully and I knew what he was aiming for which explains why I did what I did next.

"Would you like to go with me as my plus one?" Not necessarily my plus one since she'd have her own invite but I said it already. All heads snapped to me with surprise. Except Tyler who looked like he'd murder me.

"Ummm....I ...." 

I quickly interrupted her " look it's just for business sake. The paparazzi would go haywire hearing of the deal between us and it would be good for both of our companies." I clarified and it was the truth. The media would go crazy and they'll finally have pictures of her anyways. I could watch the wheels rolling in her head and I didn't miss the fear that crossed her features before she hid it.

"Sure why not" she finally replied but still sounded unsure.

 Well I wasn't expecting it to have been that easy convincing her but I guess she probably knows she couldn't hide forever from the world. 

"Cool I'd pick you up by 8?".

"I think I'll leave now". Riele spoke up. I noted she didn't give an answer to my question but ignored it nevertheless.

"I'll walk you out" Tyler jumped in giving me one last death glare and I looked anywhere but him.

"Sure, no problem" she told him, smiling. I stood up and shook her hands briefly to confirm the deal then they both left. I sat back down and smirked.
