Lynn smiled against his shoulder, not even caring when he got sand on his lips. There was no one like Anderson anywhere else in the world, and he would never stop being grateful their paths had crossed.
"All that said, I'm going to burn if I don't put on sunscreen, and neither of us wants me looking like a lobster on the big day. Not all of us have your stupid, sun-loving skin. Which isn't fair given you're pastier than me, fish face."
"Squid face," Lynn replied haughtily. "I'm not a fish."
"Whatever, it's all seafood. Let me go so I can grease up."
Lynn leered, but let him go, pulled himself a bit further into the surf so his tentacles wouldn't dry out.
Anderson returned a few minutes later, sat down next to him, smiling when he was promptly re-entangled, and settled heavily against Lynn's side. "What time does your sister and her boyfriend get here?"
