The Time Starts Now!
"Master is missing! The master is missing!" A servant yelled in panic as she runs through the hallway of the palace. Theodore, whose sipping his coffee suddenly spits it upon hearing his master is missing… again. As the guardian of the heiress of the kingdom, she's been a pain on his head because she doesn't act like a princess at all! She's a brat.
"That brat!" Theodore growled. As her guardian, he searches for her as well. Searching at the entire palace surely exhausts him to death. He takes a break and got shocked when that brat----master showed up in a portal.
Morpheus was smiling from ear to ear as she sniffs the flowers she's been holding not until she felt Theodore's presence. She gulped and tried to hide the flower on her back but it was too late as Theodore just looking at her, waiting for an explanation.
"T-Theo! L-Let me explain!" Morpheus said.
"Why do you have that?" Theodore asked angrily while pointing at the pendant on Morpheus's neck. "That is forbidden to be possessed by someone!" Theodore tried to take the pendant away from Morpheus's neck and surrender it to the elders but Morpheus swatted his hands away. "Give it to me!" Theodore said now annoyed.
"Hear me out first, Theo!" Morpheus said and Theodore stopped waiting for Morpheus to speak up.
"I have a husband.." Morpheus said as she warily looks at Theodore. "and he knows everything.."
"What?!" Theodore asked unsure of what he heard.
"He's from the mortal world"
"Stop joking around Morpheus! This is not the right time for kidding around. You're late from your training" He said as he grabbed Morpheus's elbow to walk hurriedly but Morpheus pushed Theodore slightly and look at him seriously.
"I'm not joking anymore Theo… and… we are having a baby," she said and tenderly touch her stomach.
Those words make Theodore wanted to faint. He looks at her once more to catch her if she's lying but she was not. He snatched the pendant on Morpheus's neck and glared at her.
"Give it back to me!" Morpheus yelled.
"Are you out of your mind? You are going to take over the throne and yet you just throw it away like nothing? Did you think of your people?" Theodore said trying to knock some sense on her but she just cried and shook her head.
"But… I don't want that throne and you know that, Theo. Please… Help me… I need to come back for Castiel" Morpheus begged wiping her unstoppable tears.
"No, stop this shit now Morpheus. This time I won't consider you. I will give this back to the elders and you must start studying how to lead Liberum.. you need to think about how to take out that mortal's child in you... please Morpheus, just this once, listen to me" Theodore said making Morpheus angry at him.
"I just can't kill my child! Are you hearing yourself, Theodore?!"
"And you can't just leave Liberum behind. You have the responsibility and you know that. Please think wisely Princess Morpheus Francis Hart." Theodore said bowing before taking one last glance at her. "Focus on Liberum and forget about them. Liberum is your true home"
Those words remain on Morpheus's mind but she just can't leave Castiel and kill her child, her mortal husband, and her unborn child. Theodore surrender the pendant to the elder's care and got scolded for not watching the Princess close. Theodore didn't mention the husband and child because if ever the elders knew about it, Morpheus will get a punishment that can ruin her reputation and the elders might kill the said husband and he doesn't want Morpheus to get angry at him more. On the other hand, Morpheus didn't give up on her new family, she's just looking for a great opportunity to sneak in to steal the pendant once again in the Mortuary. She sneaks in and takes the pendant once again to travel in the mortal world but little did she know, Theodore just waiting for her, watching him before following her in the mortal world. The pendant takes him into an average house. He hid at the back of the tree once she saw Morpheus knocked on the door and a man opens it for her. Theodore looks away when the man kissed Morpheus and got hurt by what he saw. She's smiling so brightly at him and the way the man looks at him with so much love in his eyes makes him feel small and insecure at himself.
"Theo?" She called. Theodore walk in their direction and Morpheus widened her eyes once she saw him walking in their direction. She immediately shielded his husband away from Theodore as Castiel warily looks at him. "What are you doing here?" she speaks once again.
"I am the one who should be asking, Morpheus" Theodore said and glared at her.
"What's happening, Morpheus?" Castiel whispered and touch her shoulder gently caressing it to calm her down. He gazed at Theodore and their eyes met.
"We need to go home" Theodore said in a monotonous voice.
"I am not coming back" Morpheus said and held Castiel's hand who smiled at him as she did the same.
"Don't be a brat and come with me now Morpheus.." He said as he losing his patience with her now.
"You are just my guardian Theodore, you should not order me around" Morpheus said. Theodore's eyes twitched at what he heard. He felt hurt by what she says but he doesn't show it.
He and Morpheus grew up together. They spent their 382 years of living together and as a potential guardian, he willingly took it because of Morpheus, because of wanting to spend more of his life with her.
"Yes. I'm just YOUR guardian but this is not all about me. This is all because of Liberum, our future! Don't be a selfish kid like just your throwing a lollipop! Your decision might affect the entire kingdom!"
"Yeah, maybe I'm selfish then what you call yourself? The Liberum? They asking me for the future that I never wanted but they keep pushing me on that. I don't want that power, that throne, or anybody else. I just want a normal life and spend it with people that I love and here he is, so if this what you call being selfish, then I will gladly take that greed than to be a lifeless puppet" Morpheus said. Theodore was taken aback by her sudden outburst and no word came to his mouth but he spits some word that breaks his heart.
"Then choose… Liberum or him?" Even if he knows the answer, he still asked. He thought that maybe there's a chance that Morpheus will change her mind and unfortunately he's wrong.
"I wanted to be free, Theodore" She said and squeeze his partner's hand and bitterly smile at him.
