The princess day

It was a bright sunny day in the kingdom of Wemba, princess Jewel was beautifully dressed in a purple and white dress with her silver crown on her head and a silver shoe to match. It was her 18th birthday, She had grown so much and looked exactly like her mother but then only difference is that she is younger. As she walked down the stairs to meet her family, all the palace maids, guards and all the invitees were already gathered at the palace main court with her parents and sang praises of her and wished her happy birthday.

"Her comes the princess of Wemba!

The treasure of king Kumaya!!

Mummy's pride!!!

Our sunshine!!!

The true daughter of her parents!!!

The most beautiful girl in Wemba!!!".

Princess Jewel was so happy to hear all the praises been showered on her and she began to catwalk for them. They all laugh and she went to sit on her chair. The birthday party was done in the palace main court which is close to the gate. Poems were sang for the princess,Wemba cultural dance preformed, then different kinds of foods and drinks were served to all that were present.

After the entertainment as the princess was

about to receive gifts,

a shout was heard from the main gate of the palace.Who could it be? And why is the person shouting like that at the entrance to the palace and on a day like that? The King told one of the guard's that are with him to go and check who is shouting and what the person wants. The guard went out immediately and headed to the gate. As he was getting closer to the gate,he couldn't hear the voice clearer and could pick the words the stranger

"May the princess day be blessed!

May she live long on earth!!

May she enjoy good health!!

May her parents live long too to enjoy the fruit of their labour!!

May her parents allow her to follow her destiny in life!!!

I may be a drunk,but l know what I am saying!!! "

I have come to wish the princess well because it is her day,so l want to enter the palace to see her and her parents.

What is your name? Asked one of the guards at the gate. My name is Amana. Where are you from and how did you know that today is the princess's birthday? The guard's asked again. I'm from the next kingdom-Malu. As for how l knew about the princess day,l can not tell you now. All l want is to be allowed in to see the princess and her family.

No you can't be allowed in the palace just like that shouted another guard. You will interrupt the party, besides you are dirty and not properly dressed, the same guard added. You are not even invited shouted the guard that was sent by the king to see who was shouting at the gate. Guards why are we even polite to this drunk, let us take him out of here he is wasting our time. Then he moved towards the drunk and pushed him, saying go away you drunk and let us have peace here. The drunk then said to himself as he staggered - Oh Amana the grate you have suffered, see how you are being addressed, chai chai chai!!!. He walked few steps backwards, then few steps forward and stopped. He took his bottle of wine from his dirty looking bag, opened it and took two sips, then closed it back. While putting it back in his bag, he said " if not because of some problems one has faced, I know who I am better than". Then he began to shout some more.....

"May the princess day be blessed!

May she live long non earth!!

May her parents live long too to enjoy the fruit of their labour !!!

May her parents allow her follow her destinyin life too!!!

I may be a drunk but I know what I am saying. I have come to wish the princess well because it is her day,so I want to enter the palace to see her and her parents".

"Shut up and go back to where you came from!!!" Yelled the guard sent by the king to check who was shouting. He wanted to scare and send the drunk away so he can quickly go back to give the king feedback even though he felt the drunk was a nobody.

"Hey Amana or whatever you call yourself, go away from here this minute before i tell these guards here to beat you up" He yelled again this time with a frown on his face with anger in his voice but Amana would not hear of it, instead of getting sacred and intimidated by the look on the guard's face he began to shout even the more. Before anyone could blink he reached for his bag and brought out his whistle and started blowing and shouting again and again.

"Father said the princess, the noise at the gate is becoming too much and everybody at the party is getting worried. I do not want my party to be spoilt".

The king sent another guard to check what was happening at the gate. This time the king told him to bring whoever it was with him into the palace, but he should be checked thoroughly to ensure he doesn't have any weapon or charm with him. The guard rushed to the gate, before he reached the gate, the other guards there were already pushing the drunk away.

"Stop!!!" he said as he reached the gate.

"Let him come to me"

They allowed the drunk to meet the guard as requested. Before he could even open his mouth, the drunk started introducing himself...

"I am Amana from Malu, I want to go into the palace" he demanded.

"It is ok, what do you have in your pocket and bag?" The guard asked as he drew him closer and searched very well. When he was done searching him, he told him to follow him. Two other guards joined them while the rest remained at the gate.
