World War Nether (Midnights)

Walter, a young teen, relocated to Europe with family. Just under a year in the UK with his new girlfriend, Nicole, things go relatively smoothly until the course of their lives completely changed in a direction no one saw coming. They wake up in a mythological nightmare, saturated with mystery on every side. It was a place that was completely infested with every type of mythological beast, a place full of magic, a place full of imposters, a place without sun or moonlight, a place ravaged by an ongoing war, and no one was who they claimed to be. Walter gets caught up in the heat of the conflict, and somehow, HE IS THE CAUSE OF THE WAR THAT BEGAN 7 YEARS BEFORE HIS ARRIVAL. “How could this be? Who am I? Why is everyone after me?” Walter wondered, as he was being tossed around by different groups that all struggled to keep him in their custody. In less than a week of his arrival, he becomes the most wanted man in the whole dimension. Wanted by man, spirit and beast. Walter began considering what path to follow as those words, ‘The meaning of life is that it stops, and we only understand death after it has placed its hands on a loved one.’ rang through Walter's head. “Can I really get a second chance to relive?” At the end of his rope, Walter comes to the conclusion that it is man's innate nature to be evil, seeing that even in death, humans are still at war. But in the face of despair, Walter finds a reason to fight back!

Please save my sister

"Commander! Long time no see." Jason said, walking away from Walter, "I heard you're doing a great job in kissing the King's ass. I can tell that you've been enjoying it." He said, still wielding his twin swords.

"You arrogant bastard. You speak like you were able to make it on your own. Just take a good look at yourself." Jade said, walking towards Jason after unveiling his long, bladed, metallic chain. "I certainly need to cut your loose tongue for disrespecting me."

"We both know you're not getting out of here alive. I will kill everyone who has caused me the loss of my men. Thankfully, Nariah is no longer in my way."

The commander swung his chain directly at Jason who swatted it aside with one of his swords. The sound of their metallic clash echoed through the air sending vibrations that were felt by the surroundings.

After some unsuccessful attempts made by the commander, Jason tried to run closer, but immediately jumped backwards because a small part of his face was slashed by the commander's swirling chain.

The commander had skillfully begun swinging his deadly weapon in wide, circular whorls. Any further step would completely cut Jason.

Jade kept leaping back as the commander moved forward with his chain, slicing through the air like a cobra as it whistled on every swing.

Jason was on his toes, he had no projectiles on him and so wasn't sure of what to do, but being the skilled fighter he was, he had something to pull off. Jason began running towards the commander, but after 2 steps, he jumped into the air, and turned himself invisible.

Jade kept on swinging his chain, but faster than previously. As he kept swinging it, he couldn't feel Jason's presence anymore, but he was at bay. Right then, he felt an arrow coming his direction from behind, he swiftly blocked it with his chain, cutting it into pieces, but when he turned around, Jason's blade was thrown and it found its mark on the commander's shoulder, dislocating his shoulder joint, forcing him drop his chain.

Right then, Jason quickly ran towards the commander, attempting to stab him. On reaching closer, Jade skillfully evaded the blade and used his hidden dagger to slash one of Jason's eyes. The 2 men got severely injured. Jason lost an eye, while Jade could barely move his left hand.

"Ahhh!" He yelled, retreating into the woods. This was the second time He had ever been scared in a 1v1 combat. The first scar that ran across his face was caused by Nariah.

"Thank Goodness, my Prince. That was a really close one. Let's return to…Prince?" Jade called on realizing that the Prince was not there, and had fled.

"My Prince! My Prince!" He began yelling, calling out to Walter.

Walter was injured, but he still took Adeola. Every step was a struggle for him with Adeola on his back. She was still unconscious and feverish.

Walter ran like an injured soldier from the war, until he finally got to the edge. He turned and scanned through, searching for the manatees.

"There they are!" he yelled on seeing 3 very large manatees, tied to a tree. After all the weird things he had seen, he wasn't shocked by how large these manatees were. Surprisingly, they were friendly, just like puppies.

He rushed and released 2 of them into the sea so no one would follow after them. After he had released them, he ran to Adeola, carried her feverish body, and gently placed her on third manatee before he mounted on it himself.

He then stroked the manatees lightly, and somehow, it knew where to go, and began sailing away. Just when it was a few feet away, Jade ran to their direction while holding his dislocated arm. He stared as the Prince rode away from him once again.

"I will not fail my Lord again." He said to himself, bringing out his whistle and blowing it loudly.

Walter heard the sound of the whistle and prompted the manatees to move faster, "giddy-up! giddy-up!" He said as they sped off.

Back at the camouflage, all the houses and trees were burnt down. The whole place was up in smoke and most of the soldiers were either killed or captured. Mother was also surrounded by soldiers of Nether. Frances tried her best to protect her mother, killing as many soldiers as came close to them, but when the silver warriors arrived, it was turned on its head.

The silver soldiers apprehended them both on the Queen of Nether's command.

"Rebecca, Rebecca." The Queen of Nether called Mother, "my runaway partner. So this is where you have been all these years."

"Why won't you just leave me alone? We are no longer bringing people here. Let us be."

"Dear Rebecca, even though we do miss you, we primarily didn't come for you, but you won't be a bad addition. Where is the Prince?"

"Is that why you killed the whole village? Because of Walter? Was killing us off really necessary?"

"I'm allergic to showing mercy to traitors. Now answer, where is the Prince?" The Queen said, placing her sword on her neck. Pressing into it lightly, causing it to bleed slightly."

"Leave my mother alone, you bastards! I will kill you all with my bare hands!" Frances spat. She was furious and tried her very best to break free, but she couldn't.

"I swear to God, I will kill you if you lay another finger on my mother." Her body was shaking in hot rage.

"This little bird has a sharp mouth." the Queen said while walking towards her.

"Please let her be." Rebecca pleaded to the Queen. "Take me but let her be."

But the Queen ignored her plea, and kept advancing towards her. On getting to her, she held Frances by the hair and raised her head high, exposing her neck before looking at the Queen. She placed her blade on Frances' neck and said, "I will not ask again. Where is the Prince?"

"Your Highness, I swear to you, we don't know where he is. He ran off just before we got attacked. I am not lying." On hearing that, the Queen let go of her hair and walked towards Rebecca.

On getting to her, she stabbed Rebecca in her chest and pressed it hard till it came out of the other side.

"Motheeeeeeeerrr!" Frances screamed as she watched the horror of Mother crumpling to the ground with blood coming out of her mouth.

"Mother, no!" she cried as tears flowed from her eyes.

On struggling to escape, the Queen signaled one of her warriors, prompting him to strike Frances brutally, causing her to lose consciousness. Her vision quickly darkened as she fell to the ground. Her last vision was of Mother lying cold on the ground with a sword in her back.

Josephine watched from the corner in anguish as Frances and her mother lay motionless on the ground. Josephine waited for the perfect time to strike, knowing how powerful the silver warriors were.

I need to save Frances, she decided in her heart, regardless of the odds.

As the silver men raised the 2 bodies up, and turned their backs, Josephine sprinted towards them with her sickle placed to strike the one carrying Frances. Before she could reach them, someone from the shadows with superhuman speed in his legs and strength in his arms, wrapped one hand around Josephine and placed a piece of cloth on Josephine's nose. She struggled as she kicked and thrashed, but on inhalation of the cloth, she slowly became unconscious. As everywhere became hazy, she watched the silver men carry Frances away.
