After a few days of marching, we arrived at the largest citadel we had seen so far. The amount of dark power felt was incredible.

We fought the enemy troops for days. Their numbers seemed to be infinite, as more kept coming. But after so many battles, our teamwork was better. Our casualties were now minimal, although the darkness was still strong.

When we finally made it to the giant dark being in the middle of the city, we felt its power.

"Ugh..."

I felt its darkness devour the minds of my brothers and sisters.

#They are your enemies, they have betrayed you, destroy them before they kill you!

-I have been betrayed. Impossible.

I thought with great pain.

#Look at them, they turn to finish you. Attack, attack, or you will be slain. Free them from the shadow that torments them. Only death can free them.

-Only death can save them. Then... I will kill them.

I stopped hesitating and saw by my side my sister Erina. Who, since that time, accompanies me in every battle, my faithful companion. Now I saw in her how the darkness radiated from her being. Her eyes, now dark were staring at me.

"Forgive me Erina, I will not allow you to be controlled. Let me kill you and release your spirit from the darkness."

The enemy's citadel was huge, and even bigger was the gigantic being that stood in the middle of it. Its size surpassed the clouds and in the dim light of the lava that ran through the lower streets of the citadel, its great shadow could be made out.

We fought their armies for days, but in the end we won.

-That was harder than I thought.

Their numbers were huge, but they were nothing against us.

"Be vigilant, little one. The darkness that stands at the center of this world is the greatest and most powerful. Remember, don't lose sight of the target and don't hesitate. We are in this together, so trust."

Said the "little dragon" standing next to me. His words brought me out of my thoughts.

"I can feel its power from here. But I'm sure we will win."

I soon heard a chuckle.

"What do you think is so funny, little dragon?"

He turns to meet my eyes, and after a few moments, he speaks.

"That is barely his presence, a glimpse of his full power. Don't trust the enemy, little one. Even less so when you don't know what awaits you. When you see his corpse at your feet, only then will you be sure of victory."

"Can't you be a little more positive, I'm sure we'll win."

"And we will win, of that there is no doubt. I just want to warn you."

I nodded at his words and after a moment, we all started marching towards the giant enemy in front.

"I will only repeat it once more, but do not doubt, do not fear, trust that we will win and fight with all your being. I know you can resist."

"If you know, why do you keep warning me...I think the one who should trust and not fear or doubt, is you, little dragon."

I watched as his eyes looked at me and then widened a little. He seemed to think for a moment and smiled at me.

He just tousled my hair for a moment and laughed, though he didn't answer me.

"Then I'm right, your silence speaks volumes, little dragon."

"Don't worry about it, I have more experience than you dealing with them, little one. Concentrate and this victory will be ours."

He said to me with his strange smile and then kept walking.

A short time later, we arrived. After walking through the labyrinthine elevated streets of these pyramidal constructions.

But what we felt as soon as we arrived was their enormous power attacking our minds.

I defended myself with all my might against the darkness that was rushing in eager to consume me and flood my being in the shadows. I could even hear his voice.

#Don't be afraid, little one. Let yourself be embraced by the shadow. You will be more powerful than you have ever been.

-I will not allow you to control me.

I resisted with my magic the great pressure exerted by the great power of the dark being in front of us.

# Why do you resist, I seek no harm. Accept me and your power will be unimaginable. Accept me and I will show you a path filled with glory.

The pressure was increasing, but I could also feel the influence of the darkness losing its effect on me.

-I do not want your promises, I do not want your help. I can be powerful on my own and forge my own path. I don't want your false glory, so stay away from me, shadow.

They were fighting the darkness, but they could do no more. I saw how they were barely resisting.

I continued to look all over the place, until I found what I was looking for. The little dragon was fighting against the dark being. Although it was giving its all, I could see that it was barely holding it back.

#*Sigh*, I don't think you understand, little one. Stop getting your hopes up, he's never been your ally. He's just another fool resisting his fate, just like you... You know that, don't you, I can see that you do... *laugh*, he showed you what he is.

As I watched the little dragon fight with all his might, I wondered.

I listened to the enemy's words, but I never heard the little dragon say anything. All he did was fight and fight.

"Will you betray them too, just like you left the elementals in my hands, heh-heh-heh. I felt all their anger and pain that day, and I felt your hatred too. It was all so funny. They thought we were the enemy, when you were always the one who watched their backs."

Again I focused with all my strength on defending myself from this attack.

-I told you I don't care. Your power is strong but it is not what I seek. In the end, I know that my victory is inevitable!

With all my strength, I began to conjure a spell that I knew could help me in this situation.

-It's annoying to hear someone telling you what to do. So, if you can't fight, just shut up!

It didn't take me long to prepare and use my spell.

Exchanges of large attacks sounded in the distance, but that explosion was from me. I had hit "Y'Shaarj's" body with a huge fireball.

#You think you can resist, little one. Your power is insignificant.

I moved a little closer to the battle going on in front of me.

"I see you're in trouble, little dragon."

After another exchange of blows, he retreated in my direction and with a big smile he said.

"So you were able to resist, little one."

Even though I was struggling with everything I could, I responded.

"This is easy, they just know how to talk."

Soon he started laughing and gradually increased his intensity.

"What's so funny?"

"Sorry, sorry. It's so funny you say that, because it's true, they only know how to talk, don't you think so, "Bro."

Suddenly he stopped looking at me and started talking in the direction of the giant being.

"So she's the one you'll stab in the back. She's strong, I like your gift, brother."

I turned my gaze back to the little dragon and asked.

"Are you two brothers?"

"No, it's just that this thing calls me that for some reason."

I watched as he sighed for a moment and then looked at me.

Suddenly he was interrupted by the enemy.

"He's another one of mine. The least of them all and the dumbest *laugh*"

At that moment I understood what I had seen. What the little dragon had shown me that day.

-He's one of them?

-Shut up, you make me tired already with your words.

"How can you use the light if you are like them?"

I asked with much curiosity.

"Because I have a target."

He points to my head.

"And I have hope."

I point to my heart.

"Do you understand, they just talk, but..."

Suddenly he was interrupted by a huge attack that sent him flying. Seeing this, I quickly moved away and prepared a shield.

"Heh-heh-heh, that little shield won't do any good against me."

"Well, I see if they can do more than just talk."

"Heh-heh-heh, I like your sense of humor."

Then a big dark spell hit my shield, which barely held up.

But soon a large mountain rose up, standing between me and the attack, at the same time a white lightning bolt struck the enemy's body.

"Arrgh!"

For the first time, a cry of pain escaped from his mouth.

"What disrespect for the rules of communication."

Standing next to me again, he said.

"You must resist, Helya. We will win, that's for sure."

The mountain that had served as a shield was destroyed in one blow.

"Tell me something, little dragon, how does it end what you were telling me?"

With a big smile, he saw me and then flew up into the sky, though I heard his voice loud and clear.

"Do not doubt. For where there is darkness."

Then it began to glow brightly and soon came swiftly down.

"There is light!"

I nodded in understanding.

-I just have to hope.

Ignoring everything else and trusting the little dragon to keep the enemy busy, I sank into deep contemplation, for something in me told me I had to. After a while I could feel a little light shining inside me.

-A light...

A white light, like that of the little dragon, was illuminating my being very deeply. Curious, I approached the source of that light, and as soon as I touched it, I felt my mind clear once again.

-This is what I was to look for.

As soon as I opened my eyes, the light radiated from me. I felt the connection to this new magic and when I looked up excitedly, searching for the little dragon, I saw something incredible....

The little dragon was no longer so small and seemed to get bigger quickly. I saw it approaching me and I questioned what was happening, so I turned my gaze towards the gigantic enemy, and it was standing perfectly still, looking up.

I looked up and I could see a hand even bigger than my enemy. It seemed to me that it was slowly descending, but I knew it was not. Understanding suddenly came to me.

Everything was happening so fast, but at the same time so slow... And before I could do anything at the astonishment of the sight, I felt a figure grab me and fly quickly in another direction.

Author's note: I apologize for the slow updates lately. I've been a bit busy and have had a block, though not on creativity, but on how to put it together. I've had some ideas come and go, and I'm constantly thinking about how I'm going to implement them. Tomorrow I hope to have all day to respond to everyone. There are some comments that I have not answered, but I have them all pending for the deserved response. I value all the time, doubts and complaints you give me.
