World of dreams VR

Hello, my name is Jack and I welcome you to the story of my life.

It is a story of how I founded my legendary guild [The everlasting inferno] and how I met many foes and even more allies. But thats all later in the story and not for now, so be patient and let me start from the beginning.

I still remember the day like it was yesterday, the year 2126 on the 2nd day of April, a day like every other you might think but this old man can tell you the thing that happened then. It was exactly sixty years and three days back...

"Is it really morning already?" Jack asked himself as he sat up in bed after snoozing his alarm "Feels like I barely slept. Should probably stop reading Webnovels so late into the night."

Jack was a good looking 23 year old guy with pitch black and sometimes seemingly dark purple hair, that stood in contrast to his vibrant lime green eyes and paired with an overall pretty face he was pleasing to the eye. He could be a model if he wished to... if it wasnt for his extreme social anxiety when interacting with people.

He grew up as an orphan soon realizing he only had himself early in life so as soon as he could he he wanted to get out of the orphanage at a young age. He was a kid he had to attend school where he learned about his interest for science, technology and video games. He worked some odd jobs every now and then earning himself enought money to build his first ever invention: A little robot made for collecting dirty clothes on the ground! Well it was based on a cheap vaccum robot but a smaller robotics company liked his idea and copied it without any legal problems as he forgot to get a patent for it. Yeah I know pretty stupid.

But he didnt spiral into a mental breakdown instead he chose to stick to programming first making a few bucks over cheap mobile games wich were low quality but highly addicting, so perfect to get a bit of cash through in game purchases and a useless amount of ads. As he got better and better he got more and more jobs, first from small companies who needed someone affordable but with a certain level of quality, to some bigger tech firms who outsourced some coding to make it through tasks in the time frame asked of them.

He earned quite a good amount of money with that and is currently relying on a few company shares he got to keep him fed and with a roof over his head while using some saved money to buy himself things he enjoys.

Following his normal routine he lays back down to continue sleeping as he remembers somthing that would change his life, even if he didnt know yet. Today was the release of World of Dreams, a new VRMMORPG hyped to the max by your trusty gaming sites and the public after the teaser was released.

He instantly jumps up and hurries into the bathroom of his small apartment consisting of a bedroom, a bathroom, a living room that doubles as the kitchen and a room used for technology related matters. After getting through a quick a shower he puts on pants and a hoodie, grabs his phone, plugs his headphones in and looks at the clock 6:40 with a 15 minute walk to the local electronics store he should be good even if somthing unexpected happens.

Walking down the familiar streets of the city with his hood up and Nerdcore playing in his ears, he makes his way to the store. With nothing out of the ordinary happening on his way he arrives at the store a few minutes early, even so a line of four people had already formed three of wich, all guys, where unfamiliar and the last being the only girl there he only recalls from the few times he goes out to buy more energy drinks and instand noodles after his storage was deepleted when working long into the night not having the energy to cook fresh anymore.

'Nice no need do conversation' he thought while queing up. At exactly 7:00 am the dors get opened and they all walk in one after another, heading straight to the new Full-Dive VR helmets released by Dreamy Night inc. and the only ones capable of playin World of dreams. Not because its the only full dive helmet or somthing like that tho, but because Dreamy Night inc. wanted to get full profit off the helmets the game was said to be there magnum opus after all.

After paying he hurries home turning the fifteen minute walk into one of ten out of excitement. He goes to the tech room sits on his comfy high quality gaming chair unpacks the helmet throwing the packaging into a corner plugging in all needed cables instantly booting up the game by saying the magic words
