[Royalty Arc 03]: The Act Begins

Lance was engaged in a heated argument with 007, who felt that Lance's negativity and sabotage had wasted a candidate, that 007 had researched for a long time.

007 felt wronged and said, ["When you were working in the company, you were obviously very active."]

Lance replied, ["Because it's my own company, I don't know who will benefit after you complete this task."]

007 pleaded, ["After the task is completed, the host can get certain soul coins."]

To this, Lance replied casually, ["I don't like working for others."]

007 couldn't help but tease, ["The host wants to be a system?"]

Before Lance could respond, the servant's shrill voice from outside announced, "The King is here."

Lance quickly got up, while 007 kept nagging in his ears, ["He actually came here!"]

Lance nonchalantly commented, ["Obviously, you still need to add a brain to your systematic function."]

King Alexander seldom visited other consorts in the castle grounds, but there were two reasons for his visit this day.

First, he had a quarrel with First Consort Jace and wanted to make him jealous. Second, he wanted to help First Consort Jace regain his position.

Lance guessed that King Alexander would come for these reasons. He had been preparing for this day, focusing on the task.

First Consort Jace might appear innocent on the surface, but Lance knew he was jealous and narrow-minded. He had even implied to the King that Lancelot, another consort, disrespected his authority.

Lance lowered his head and rolled his eyes, as 007's voice chimed in at the perfect moment:

[The target has appeared – King Alexander. Achieving 100% progress will reward you with 100 soul coins. Please don't be passive and sabotage your work.]

King Alexander entered Lance's castle, and Lance followed him into the bedroom.

When King Alexander heard footsteps behind him, he turned around to scold Lance, but before he could speak, Lance addressed him respectfully, "Your Majesty."

King Alexander looked at him, hesitated, and decided not to scold him after seeing the anticipation in Lance's eyes.

Instead, he asked, "Did you go to greet the First Consort these days?"

Lance explained with a slightly trembling voice, "I have not been feeling well."

King Alexander inquired further, "Have you been unwell for a month?"

Lance's eyes dimmed, and he replied, "I understand, Your Majesty. I will visit the First Consort tomorrow."

King Alexander warned him, "Don't think that if I let you take control of the castle grounds, you can ignore the First Consort."

Lance assured him, "I never thought of doing that."

King Alexander sneered, "You mean I wronged you?"

Lance lowered his body and kept quiet letting the King continue.

"I don't want to see you bumping into the First Consort again, it's not like I can't replace you and let someone else manage this harem."

Lance didn't want more tasks and responsibilities, but having the power in the palace could be convenient.

He couldn't afford to lose it yet, as he needed to complete the task and attack King Alexander.

After contemplating for a moment, Lance decided to show his vulnerability.

He lowered his head, his voice trembling as he spoke, "I understand that I, as your consort, will not go against the First Consort again. Please, Your Majesty, calm yourself."

His body trembled slightly, and his snow-white neck was exposed. Under King Alexander 's scrutinising gaze, it seemed delicate, as though it might break if squeezed.

Observing him for so long, 007 felt a pang of distress and offered support, "[Lance, dont be scared..]"

Lance replied, ["Don't speak, I'm not very skilled at acting. I need to concentrate."]

007: ["No, I think you're very good at acting." '_']

King Alexander stared at Lance for a while and walked out, saying, "Duke Arthur will come to the castle in three days, and you will organise the royal banquet."

Lance stood up straight and said behind him, "Don't worry, Your Majesty."

He will handle it with utmost care.

A family dinner was a great opportunity. Lance didn't expect to let King Alexader let the De Vere family go by seducing King Alexander.

However, Lance flipped through the memory given by Lancelot at will and found the information of Duke Arthur from the corner.

Duke Arthur is the half-brother of King Alexander. He was sent out of the palace as a child and was raised by his mother.

After growing up, he joined the army and earned many military exploits. Before his death, the late king named him Duke of Eboracum and granted him a residence in Eboracum forever.

Duke Arthur was going to visit in three days, and King Alexander wanted Lance to organise the royal banquet.

As Lance thought about his plans, he discovered that Duke Arthur was an interesting figure. He had fiefdom, military power, and no romantic interests. King Alexander probably wanted to get rid of him.

The memory provided by Lancelot revealed that Duke Arthur had never entered the main city since his appointment as Duke.

Lance thought, "If you're told to go hell, you go to hell, isn't that stupid?"

007 suggested that he seduce King Alexander, but Lance knew that strategizing was not about seducing people, and he needed time to observe and plan. He couldn't rush into action.

Lance reassured 007, saying, ["You're too eager. Strategy is not about instant attacks. I need to watch and wait."]

007 responded, ["Alright."]

It understood that Lance didn't intend to passively sabotage the task, so it decided to patiently observe.

Lance then shared, ["I've come up with an excellent idea to complete the task. Dont worry."]
