Chapter 1Prologue

Hard to believe that this kind of MMORPG was kinda popular, it only offered three classes to the player which were the most common ones.

The warrior, archer, and mages…

There's no assassin or anything like that, there's also no class upgrade when you hit a certain level. This certainly is bad for the game but surprisingly enough it still had a huge fanbase of players despite all of that.

That game was called Code Saga. A typical MMORPG that offers players a lot of things besides character classes.

"Hey, Ren? Have you tried out the new game… it's super fun."

"What's the game called?"

"Code Saga, it's free on Uteam. A lot of players are playing it now. I think you would like it as it's the kind of game you like to play."

"Are you playing that game, Shin?"

"Heck yeah! That's why I'm telling you about it…"

"I will check it out when I get home."

"Nice! Remember the game name is Code Saga." Shin reminded Ren again.

Ren could see that his friend Shin wanted him to play that game. Well, it's kinda obvious as Ren was the only friend that Shin ever had. Both of them were introverted loners that love games and anime.

As Ren was back from school, he remembers what Shin told him earlier. About a game that he wanted Ren to test out. That was a game called Code Saga.

Ren was reluctant as before he even installed that game on his pc, he checked the review of the game on Utube. Found out that the game has a horrible classes system for their character, as Ren would prefer to play as someone who could use sword and magic simultaneously.

Yet the game didn't offer that at all which kinda made Ren disappointed a lot.

But because of his friend, Ren had no other choice but to play it and test it out first as the reviewer couldn't be trusted that much nowadays.

It takes Ren a couple of hours to download the game as it was quite big, 65GB.

After waiting that long, the download was finally completed and Ren could finally play the game Shin recommended to him.

Upon launching the game-

'Welcome to Code Saga!' A female voice.

After that, Ren was greeted by the character creation menu which was his favorite. Usually, it takes him a lot of time to create his perfect character…

Like always, Ren's character creation, he almost opted to build a rather good-looking man with an excellent physique. Someone very confident in themselves.

As that was the ideal person that Ren always wanted to be in real life but didn't dare to do so.

Ren finally completed the character creation as he went with a character that has blonde hair… grey eyes. Someone who Ren wouldn't become in real life at all.

'I had a dream, it was you… the hero that would save the world. The Destined Hero'

Ren never heard these phrases at all, as he watches the gameplay of Code Saga several times while waiting for the game to finish downloading. It's weird but Ren just thought that as an update… something that had been added to improve the game intro.

Just as suspected, the game resumes as normal…

It's the time to choose the classes for the character, which the game was notorious for at the moment. As the game only provided the three basic classes.

-Warrior-

-Archer-

-Mage-

Ren was about to choose a warrior but he knew that Shin probably had picked it already. Knowing that… Ren then decided to choose other classes, a class that would enable him to support Shin in the game.

With that, Ren chooses the Mage Class.

He was rather surprised when he clicked on the Mage Class, as it seems like there's a type of mages people could pick… but like the Character Classes, it wasn't that many of an option at all. It only provides three types of mages.

-Priest- (Light Magic)

-Wizard- (Elemental Magic)

-Warlock- (Dark Magic)

Because Ren had already set up his mind to play as a supporting character. There's only one type of mage that he needed to play. So it wasn't that hard for Ren to choose this matter at all.

As with a priest-type skillset, Ren would be able to heal and buff up Shin when they fight a boss or some strong monsters in the game.

He then locks on with the Priest type…

The female voice then explains the lore of the world and how it was on the brink of destruction. That's why she had to summon a hero from another world to save it.

'Our world Saga was in trouble as the light nearly faded as the dark began to conquer all of it. We need one brave hero from the other world, that's you-'

[INPUT NAME]

Ren gives it a thought as it's the most important thing besides the character creation. Picking a lame name would be very bad because usually renaming characters would cost real money and it's wasteful to use the money for that purpose only.

It took a couple of minutes for Ren but finally, he decided on a name. Which was his name…

[Ren Shizumu]

The female narrator resumes…

'... Ren Shizumu. You're the hero that the World of Saga needed right now. With the remaining of my power, I summon thee onto the world of Saga. You're the only one that could save the world...'

[ARE YOU SURE ABOUT YOUR CHOICE]

-YES- -NO-

With everything completed, Ren can't wait to start the game and experience what it's had to offer. Would it be worse than the other MMORPG game that he had played before or better?

He then moves his mouse cursor onto the yes and clicks on it.

….

...

An unknown voice then suddenly shouted at Ren.

"Hey-"

"Hey, wake up! You're going to be late, you do know that the high priest doesn't like people that are late."

Ren quickly opened his eyes and realized that something was different, he wasn't in his room anymore and what was worse was there's someone that he didn't know standing in front of him at the moment.

He was confused about what had happened…

"Now you see?" she shouted in a mix of annoyance and disappointment. "You can't outsmart Scrients! They're the most intelligent beings across the two realms." "You're right," I muttered, averting my gaze with a heavy sigh. "I made a mistake. I was too arrogant to think that a mere human like me could fool them." —BOOM!! "Heik! Wh-What was that?" "Hmm? I'm not sure. Maybe you should go and ask the most intelligent beings across the two realms. Oh wait, you can't. I killed them all.” ______ My name is Samael Kaizer Theosbane. On the last day of high school, I got into a fight with a kid I used to bully. It was a stupid, pointless scuffle, and in the middle of it, I tripped and hit my head on a rock. That’s when the memories came flooding in - the memories of another life, of a different world. Suddenly, everything made a twisted kind of sense. I realized two things. First, I was in a game I used to play in my past life. Second, I was a villain. A villain! Not the cool and mysterious kind, either. No, my destiny was to be manipulated and die a dog's death! I was the worst type of cliché: an ungrateful, privileged, insufferable young master. The sort you'd find in those poorly written fantasy stories. The kind everyone hates — a snobby brat from a powerful noble family who thinks he owns the world just because he was born with a silver spoon lodged in his mouth. You know the type. The one the hero beats to a pulp to prove his worth. Yeah, I was that guy. And the hero? The hero was the kid I’d been bullying all this time. The same one I got into a fight with. He was the supposed savior of this damned world. A world teetering on the edge of destruction, beset by wars, calamities, and a grim future that only I knew. And at the end of it all, the final antagonist of the game, the undefeatable boss… the Spirit King, was waiting. But could I even make it to the end? Could I conquer a game where defeat was the only certainty? A game that was now my reality! “Ah, fuck it.” I had no idea if I could, but I sure as hell was going to try. Extorting extras, manipulating main characters, twisting the story to my advantage, stealing the hero’s cheat items, killing villains before they could become threats - nothing was beneath me. Would the main characters be affected? Who cares! Would the story change? Even better! All I cared about was me—my survival, my life, my choices. “I will live this life with no regrets.” …But as I soon discovered, fate was not easily changed. And the price of altering one's destiny was steep. ========== Discord Server: https://discord.gg/VjFQtDUaTR
