Dom soon found Lucius outside the Town Centre, chatting with the Hoplite Homer who was stood with him.
"Happy with what you have found?" Lucius asked Dom inquisitively.
"I am." Dom replied, "Come, we have lots to do!"
Lucius bid farewell to Homer, who saluted and headed off towards the Warriors Hall to rest. Lucius then followed Dom who paced his way in the direction of the flatlands.
"Tell me then, what have you received?" Lucius asked. Interested to see what they could develop to help grow Riverside successfully.
"We have quite a good haul, which should allow us to complete our primary Town Centre upgrade after completion. We firstly have a new Warriors Hall to place, it is a much lower grade but additional units are always helpful. We have a random building spawn and an upgrade Token." Dom started. "But the reason I am heading in this direction, is that we also have a low grade Animal Husbandry to spawn."
"An Animal Husbandry?" Lucius replied, "That's fantastic, I wonder what animal it will be!"
"Tell me where you want to place it, and we will soon find out!" Dom commented with a grin.
Lucius soon pointed out a location near the farm's they were planting, It was a large open section of flatlands that had yet to have been touched by the farmers.
"Here would be great." Lucius commented, "We have decided to have the Rice Paddy Fields here close to the River, and our grain crops in this direction. We are hoping to source seeds for more luxurious foods soon."
"I agree, but Rice and Grain are both a strong stable start for us." Dom replied. Lucius nodded his head in agreement as Dom prepared to use his Animal Husbandry Cube. Dom looked around to make sure that this was definitely the best space before making his move.
"System, please place Animal Husbandry here." Dom requested.
[Spawning Animal Husbandry]
Soon the ground started to shake gently in front of them both, Lucius looking on in apprehension to what they would receive.
[Rolling for Animal....Animal selected]
Soon a large silver wooden barn appeared, with two large wooden doors that would open outwards. Above the wooden doors was an image of a muscular Bull with large horns on the sides of its head. The doors to the barn swung open, showing that the inside held lots of pens for animals to sleep, and was layered thick with Hay Bales.
"This is a low level Animal Husbandry?" Dom and Lucius both exclaimed.
"Show Stats." Dom asked.
[Animal Husbandry of Riverside
Building Grade - S
Spawn rate - 4 Animals per day (Can be upgraded with Village growth)
Spawn Type - Bovine
The Animal Husbandry is the spawn point for the selected animal within the town, it will give an ample environment and housing for the creature that will spawn in it. Animals spawned within the husbandry can spawn their own kind through natural means.]
"S Grade?" Dom exclaimed, "I was expecting D Grade."
[Due to Riversides S Class, rerolled buildings will also reroll their levels to be in line with the Town Centre. As usual, rolls of spawns may be lower than the grade of building, but their spawn rates will be within line of the building class.]
"That's great news!" Dom exclaimed, thinking he should always reroll in future if possible. "If the D Grade was only 2 spawns, why is the S grade only 4?"
[Spawn rate depends on building grade and Spawn Type. As a Bovine is a much larger animal than a Wild Boar, the spawn rate will obviously be lower. A D grade Bovine Spawn would be one every 2 days, rather than 4 every day.]
"We have cows!" Lucius exclaimed, interrupting Dom's discussion with Game Support.
"I thought we had Bovine?" Dom replied.
"Bovine is the species!" Lucius replied seriously, his knowledge in all things farming showing. "Cows are the ladies who have had a baby, Bulls are the strong ones that are fully intact, Ox are those that are male but not fully intact."
"So these are Cows?" Dom asked, looking inside to see there were 2 Brown Cows and 2 Calves inside.
"Yes they are Cows." Lucius replied seriously. "And those are their calves!"
"I thought so." Dom replied, "They look like Cows."
"That's because they are Cows." Lucius replied, "How many should I expect?"
"4 a day." Dom replied.
"That is a lot, if we can get some Ox, we can use them to transport goods and help prepare the fields!" Lucius replied, "With these we could get Milk and eventually things such as Cheese!"
"You seem excited?" Dom asked.
"This is amazing news, we have another source of food and meat." Lucius commented, "But better than that, they can help us till the fields and paddies. I'll need to get the shepherds and Benjamin and the other farmers together. Give me two minutes."
Lucius suddenly skipped off in excitement towards one of the fields where some farmers were manually planting seeds in to the ground. Whilst Lucius talked with them, Dom looked at the cute Calves and suddenly felt very relaxed, he'd have to ask Kai for some farming advice.
Lucius soon returned with a couple of farmers, who he directed to the Barn and gave some instructions.
"We need to build a large outer fence." Lucius commented to Dom as the farmers left and headed inside the barn. "The flatlands are too large and we could easily loose them, they could also easily wander in to the crops we are planting and eat them."
"Just another thing for Lars and Wang Shu to add to their list." Dom replied, "maybe I rushed ahead too quickly by placing a new building."
"Probably, but we want to grow quickly to beat any competition in the area." Lucius replied, "What ever decisions are made, there will be both positive and negative consequences. We have plenty of resources within the Animal Husbandry to keep them fed for a while, so we have time. When we head back, I'll also need to speak with the daughters of Lars, to see if they can make us some tools that we can strap to Ox. We can also upgrade some of the handcarts in to full carts."
"We need more people." Dom lamented.
"Yes we do." Lucius replied, "Let's head to the Warriors Hall to place the new one, then we can work out our long term plans. Who knows, we may get warriors that also want to be farmers when they aren't training and working."
They both left the Animal Husbandry in the safe hands of the farmers that Lucius had grabbed, and walked off towards the Warriors Hall and Heroes Hall that were only a couple of minutes away. They soon arrived at the area that was quite quiet. With only Tomyris sleeping on a nearby chaise lounge outside the Heroes Hall that she had pulled from inside, her feet up in the air resting on it.
"Is that my chaise lounge?" Lucius exclaimed in shock.
"It does look like it." Dom replied with a grin.
Should I wake her up then?" Lucius asked Dom, who was looking at Tomyris with jealousy, also tired from the long day they had had so far. His body ached from the walk to the Gluttonous Chief's Village and back, and the short battle they had when they were there.
"Let's leave her asleep." Dom replied, "Maybe we can give her a surprise with a new Warriors Hall next door!"
Lucius smiled and directed Dom towards the Hoplite Warriors Hall. They decided to place the new Warriors Hall beside the current one, between current hall and the nearby Silver Forest.
"Place the Warriors Hall here." Dom commanded.
Soon the ground shook, as a single story building appeared that was similar in size to the current Warriors Hall. It was of the same silver wood from the forest like the other buildings that were nearby. Similar to the other Warriors Hall it had a large archway above the double door and a gathering area in front.
"View Stats" He asked Game Support.
[Warriors Hall of Riverside 2
Hall Grade - S
Hall Level - 1
Spawn rate - 5 Warriors a day (can be upgraded with Village growth)
Spawn Level - up to grade S, type dependent
Spawn Type - To be decided - Please Roll]
"Success!" Dom exclaimed in excitement. "Another grade S Building. 5 units a day."
"That's great news." Lucius replied, "We will need to increase our civilian growth to catch up!"
"Game Support please roll for Warrior Hall!" Dom asked.
[Please choose an initial category Ranged, Attacker or Defender]
Dom had to make a decision again, part of him felt like asking Lucius, but this was his game and he needed to make some of his own decisions. He still didn't feel that a Defender would be the ideal choice, Riverside was growing well and with the additional military units, they may soon be able to leave a detachment behind. They also had their own Riverside guards of Duncan and Paul, that could potentially have some of their own internal growth, being able to have a day role in Riverside and a defender role when needed.
The choice was now between Ranged or Attackers. Ranged would be very helpful, especially if they got some good archers or crossbowmen. Choosing ranged units that could attack from a distance would be great for small attacks like earlier. If they had archers they could have potentially picked off the enemy units without having to engage. He would definitely need some ranged units soon.
The other choice was Attackers. He currently had his Hoplite units, which were strong and efficient in taking out the enemy in front of them. The downside of them however was that they were weak on the flanks. If they came up against an actual enemy unit with some tactics, they could easily be exposed. He ideally needed to find a way to protect their weakness so that he could use them to the maximum of their potential.
"Attacker." Dom replied.
[Choice Complete, Roll Commencing.....]
