New Building Here, New Building There

Dom soon headed upstairs to his room alone, tired from a long day at the Auction and then the large amount of talking until late in the evening with some of his Heroes. He had assumed Meritamen would have joined him as she had been persistent recently, however she was busy dealing with the housing of Chanda and the other nine concubines that had been purchased, not wanting them too close to Dom and potentially being competition for her. Dom had tried to be clear that he was drawing a line between reality and the game, but it wasn't really possible to explain to that to Meritamen and his other Leaders.

He quickly undressed and fell asleep, face down on his pillow. In the night, nothing awoke him, be that when Meritamen sneaked in to the room to plant a kiss upon his head, or when she had returned before he awoke to remove his dirty toga and replace it with a clean one for the following day.

The light soon shone through the window and awoke Dom from his sleep, causing him to roll and groan as he slowly sat up in his bed. He climbed out and quickly got changed in to his clean toga that was laid out for him, before strapping his sword to his waist and heading down stairs towards the Great Hall. He passed through the empty floor below, where Tomoe and Meritamen had their rooms, before going down the stairs that took him to the ground floor below.

In the Great Hall, there was the usual hustle and bustle, with people making food and distributing it around Riverside, whilst Lucius sat and waited for Dom as he did most mornings on one of the long tables.

"Good Morning Lord Lazarus!" Lucius said warmly as he ate some fruit that was on a plater in front of him. Dom felt that when ever he saw Lucius, he was either rushing around or sat here eating.

"Good Morning Lucius!" Dom replied as he headed over and took some food from Lucius's plater.

"A busy day ahead." Lucius stated as he stood up and motioned towards the main doors. "You haven't missed anything exiting as you slept."

"Just a little bit of a busy day." Dom replied with a laugh, "Five new buildings, five upgrade tokens, three Special Villager spawns, a Hero spawner, an Elite Unit spawner and some materials."

"Just one or two things then." Lucius laughed, "Crassus is busy at the Market, whilst Shang Yang, Meritamen and Xun Yu are dealing with the daily spawns. Where do you want to start?"

"Let's do the five buildings, then the upgrades, then the spawns and see where we are." Dom stated, planning out the day ahead. He was grateful that he knew what three of the buildings were, so at least he could put them in the right direction. "After that I'll take a horse up to Subutai and see how the preparations are going."

"I think it is best that I take the Mine for later." Lucius stated, "I think we have a good location at the base of the mountain near the other Mine that we have built. I am hoping we have found a deposit for some rare materials, potentially iron, but I will need the Blacksmiths to confirm."

"That's great news!" Dom exclaimed as they left the Great Hall and were welcomed by the warm air of Riverside. "The Barracks we can spawn near the other one, giving us additional much needed accommodation for the excess Warriors. We can then place the new Warriors Hall beside the Legionaries Warrior Hall."

"Then should we spawn the two random ones first?" Lucius said, wanting some excitement first before they hit the other tasks.

"Yes, lets do that!" Dom said, "Where should we use the first one?"

"We need a bit of everything." Lucius stated as they stood outside the Town Centre on the tiled floor next to the small pond that had been formed on a recent upgrade.

"With the influx of skilled workers from Crassus, maybe we should aim for the manufacturing side of Riverside first." Dom said whilst thinking through their key civilian needs. They needed more variety of manufacturers, as well as entertainment, culture and agricultural buildings. Military was also a big thing that needed further growth, but with the Barracks and the new Warriors Hall they already had new building types for that.

"To the Manufacturing district it is then." Lucius said as he headed towards the manufacturing district where the Brewery, Blacksmiths, Pottery and part of the Lumber Camp were placed. They were quickly flanked by some of the guards, and the citizens around watched Dom and Lucius proudly as they headed north.

"System, please use a Green Cube." Dom announced as they reached the manufacturing district.

[Rolling for Random Building.....Building Selected.....Wood Workshop]

Beside the Lumber Camp that was already extended with a variety of tools to help support the processing the trees cut from the Silver Forest, a large wooden warehouse appeared, made from the silver wood as the majority of Riverside.

"Show Stats." Dom asked, happy to see that it was a useful manufacturing building that could have big impacts for Riverside's growth.

Necessary skilled workers will be needed to maximise the efficiency of the building.]

"Can someone please go and get Lars the Head Lumberjack and his daughter Aase the Carpenter." Dom ordered his guards.

They didn't have far to go as both father and daughter were currently at the Lumber Camp discussing production and distribution between the Shipyard that Himilco the shipwright was in charge off and Wang Shu's teams of builders who were concentrating on Watch Towers and Houses.

"Good Morning Lord Lazarus and Mayor Lucius." Lars said warmly as he and his daughter arrived at the Wood Workshop where Dom and Lucius were waiting for them.

"Nice to see you Lars." Dom replied, "Welcome to the new Wood Workshop of Riverside. I am hoping that you and your daughter can manage it."

"Let's see what's inside!" Lars said excitedly as he opened the door, with Dom, Lucius and Aase following him inside.

Inside there was a large open space to the left where some raw materials were currently stocked up neatly, a mixture of the different tree types that Riverside had access to currently. The other side was filled with wooden work benches and a large variety of hand tools that were placed at the sides on racks, similar to the Blacksmiths.

"It's a nice workshop!" Lars said happily, "Aase, look at all of those tools!"

"Yes I can see them." Aase replied evenly, "I'm happy we have this, but with this, the shipyard and all of the construction, we are struggling to keep up with the wood needed as it is."

"Would an upgrade to the Lumber Camp help?" Dom asked.

"It would of course, but an increase in labour is the most important thing." Lars replied dejectedly, "all able bodies are either constructing, farming or chopping already."

"We would love to have the Warriors help, but we are on a war footing." Lucius added, "Once that ends, I am sure they would much rather help here."

"I understand, we will get there!" Lars replied.

"System, use a Wooden Token to upgrade the Lumber Camp." Dom ordered whilst they spoke.

There was a shake outside and Lars gave Dom a knowing look having remember the last time the Lord had caused chaos in his workplace. He headed outside to have a look whilst Dom looked at the stats.

Decreases Wood cutting time by 325% due to tools and equipment available. Allows for easier training of other Lumberjacks, and wood related trades. Increased quality of tools allows for more complex Lumber Camp related activities.]

"Some good bonuses." Dom commented as he read the stats, an increase in wood cutting time would have a huge help for Lars, but the easier training for all wood related trades could benefit the Wood Workshop and the Shipyard as well.

They quickly bid farewell to Lars and Aase, who continued to argue over what resource's were distributed where, and headed back towards the Town.

"Where should we use the final random Green Cube?"

"I wanted to use it in the manufacturing district again." Dom replied, "I think it's key that we continue to branch out what we are creating, but with the market we can buy in a lot of new things and as Lars said, we are in a stage where we need raw materials and housing, so I don't want to take away from the resource he has available."

"Then Culture and Commerce are our next key things." Lucius replied as he thought things through himself, "It may be worthwhile asking Sostratus to speak with the different trades people we have. He could potentially work with our current workshops and the other trades people to create schematics for different workshops."

"That's a great idea!" Dom replied as he thought about it, they had the Weaver Alejandro and his family. "If we get Alejandro to have a look at the Pottery, Wood Workshop and Blacksmiths, he may be able to come up with his own building with Sostratus."

"I'll speak with them both later." Lucius agreed as they headed through to the commercial district.

As they walked through the district, they upgraded the Clinic, which the Doctors Hua Tou and Phoebe were both very happy about. The Clinic grew in size, including a room dedicated to surgery and a larger ward for people to rest in who were recovering. Dom felt that the Clinic had turned in to a small hospital rather than a local doctors, but he was grateful for that.

They also upgraded the bathhouse, which also grew in size and included some private rooms and a steam room. Dom knew that Crassus would be very happy with that as he had complained a lot recently about how crowded the bathhouse had gotten. With more clean citizens and the upgraded Clinic, Dom hoped that illness wouldn't be something he had to worry about in Riverside.

As they reached the Tavern, Dom decided to use the Green Cube.

"System, use the Green Cube." Dom requested.

[Rolling for Random Building.....Building Selected.....Gambling House]

A tall and wide, two floored wooden building appeared in front of them, it had a pointed roof and looked a little like a stunted pagoda from Ancient China. Dangling from the four corners of the roof were glowing red paper lanterns that were lit from candles inside them. The wood that made the building was silver, however the roof was a shimmering red that reflected the sun and stood out clearly in it's surroundings.

"A Gambling House?" Dom gasped, as he caught Lucius's eye who also seemed shocked at the building choice, "System, show stats!"

Lucius looked at Dom and shrugged his shoulders as he headed up the couple of steps at the entranceway to the Gambling House and pushed the door open.

"Lord Lazarus, come and see this!" Dom heard Lucius yell from inside.
