"Is it Chuck?" Alicia asked, her voice shaking and her heart racing.
Louis, looking at the man's underwater-disfigured face, whispered, "No, it's someone else."
"Why did you block my view then?"
"You would have nightmares. Best not to see."
"No, let me look. Don't lie." Alicia tried to pull his hand away, using all her strength.
Worried she might hurt herself, Louis had to let go.
Alicia stumbled to the man's body, looking closely at his face. She checked for a whole three minutes to make sure it wasn't Chuck. She sighed quietly in relief, bowed her head, joined her hands, and said quietly to the man, "Sorry to disturb you."
Other people who had lost someone came rushing, hoping to see if it was their family member.
So, from afternoon till evening, three or four bodies were pulled up. Everyone was scared, fearing it was someone they loved.
