Chapter 004- Escape

"Father," Rogue uttered, acknowledging the company that arrived.

She realized the man behind the door was his father.

"Are you alright, Rogue?"

Ivanna heard the man, Mr Quinn inquiring.

"Yes. Is there a problem?" Rogue asked.

Ivanna could tell he knew what was wrong. His voice was too calm.

"Not quite. Mr Pierlot's daughter, Ivanna, went missing an hour before you left. Your phone was switched off so I thought you might have been kidnapped, or worse and I… nevermind. I'm glad you're safe."

Ivanna's eyes dilated.

"I haven't seen her since you introduced her and her brother to me. I hope she's found soon, but I'm sure she isn't missing.." Rogue said to his father.

"I know, I just thought I should check on you, to make sure you're okay. This country is crammed with dangerous people, and I hope you stay away from them." Mr Quinn advised.

Ivanna found it weird that he didn't even invite his father inside his house. She was surprised at how calmly he spoke while lying to his father.

"I never keep bad company, father."

Mr Quinn smiled. After some time he left.

The tape around her mouth was then peeled off.

"You're a big-time liar. Don't keep bad company, huh?" As she said, she eyed the two men in the room.

Rogue chuckled darkly. "I didn't lie, vanilla, I don't keep bad company. I'm the bad company."

He walked past her and headed for the stairs. He reached a point and stopped. "Don't end her yet, make sure everything is clear. And Merton, delete the footage from the party."

"Already did," Merton answered.

"Good." Then he climbed up.

Ivanna was released after a few minutes. She had bashed her head hard on the ground. Shit, that hurts.

She was taken to another room, different from the one she had been kept in earlier. It was darker and further into the house. Her hand was not tied, thank goodness.

She quickly stopped the men before they left.

"Can't you both see what he's doing? This is a crime. He can't just bring a girl to his house and have her locked up. If you let me go now, I'll make sure you both are spared after I put that bastard in jail." She tried to get them to help her escape.

"We can't help, Miss, sorry." The man Ivanna recognized as Merton said.

"He's bad, sick in the head. A psychopath. Are you both really gonna watch him kill a woman?"

She noticed a flicker of something in the other man, while Merton laughed. "He sure is sick in the head, Miss, but he has his reasons. And he's a good Man." Merton defended.

"There's nothing good about him, I bet his parents know how psychotic he was and sent him abroad at a young age."

Both men shared a look and hope filled her heart. She didn't know about Merton, but Silas seemed conflicted.

As they left the room, she sigh and closes her eyes. She couldn't fall asleep. She didn't want to.

A few hours passed, then she heard a soft knock on the door. Guessing her ears were deceiving her, she disregarded it. But the knock came again and she became alert. The door was locked from the outside.

She then heard the colliding of keys, a lock opening chime, and finally, the door unfurled.

Outside the door stood Silas.

"Let's go, we don't have time." He didn't wait for her to understand his words as he turned around, walking away.

Ivanna ran after him with quietness. She understood his words. He's trying to help her.

They sneaked out of the house through the back door, everywhere was quiet and dead. Dark.

Ivanna found this odd. A man as bad as Rogue would never leave his house unguarded, even if it's a late hour.

But all that reasoning flew off her head as she sighted the gate. She was just lengths away from freedom. She shut her eyes slightly, breathing in the cold air. It felt wonderful.

They were a few seconds away from the gate, when the compound that had been dark suddenly became filled with flashes.

Two men held a gun pointing it at them, and Rogue had an amused smirk dancing on his lips. His back was resting on a car.

"I know anyone in your position would grab any chance of escape, but the position you're in is a hell hole, vanilla, there are practically no chances of escape, well except death." He was ambling towards them. He had a gun in his right hand, while the other remained tucked in his pants.

Merton also walked forward. "Jeez, Man, helping her escape was a shitty move." He ran his tongue down his lower lip with amusement.

"I won't have him do to her what he did to my sister," Silas said with hatred lacing his tone.

"That?" Merton asked with dissatisfaction. "That was a misunderstanding, Rogue did nothing. He actually-"

"Don't defend him, Merton, we both know you're here because he blackmailed you." Silas cut in.

The atmosphere was getting tense. She could feel the emitting rage from Rogue. He is just inches away from her.

"What is wrong with you?" A man she didn't recognize asked, clearly, he was annoyed at Silas.

Rogue's jaw ticked and he looked at her, their eyes locked. She noticed him raising his hand, but her eyes couldn't move from his, he locked hers with his.

He cocked his gun and she became alert. He raised the gun and…

Boom!

She shut her eyes and waited for the pain, but nothing. Her eyes slowly opened and found a pool of blood near her. It wasn't hers, but Silas'.

She gasped as saw him dead on the ground. His eyes were broadly empty.

She quickly looked up at Rogue and met his face blank.

"Take care of the mess, compensate his family," Rogue instructed and grabbed her hands. He pulled her with him back to the Mansion.

Something was telling her she had touched his tail. Even though he practically had none. He just killed a man and his face was still emotionless.

Just how did she mess with this guy?
