“Yep. I love happy endings. A few weeks ago, I was a cynic. Now I’m a sap. Go ahead, call him.”
Julien, it’s me. I know.Richard waited a minute then heard some noise.
“Is the elevator on its way up?”
“Yeah, I think it is.” Richard paced the carpet.
“Don’t you dare hang up on me,” Julio squeaked.
Richard got huffy. “I promised I wouldn’t.”
“Make him show you his wolf and make him get the rest of them out of bed. Why should you let them sleep in? I didn’t.”
“I hear the elevator door.” A note of panic crept into Richard’s voice. “What do I do?”
“Let him take the lead and don’t you dare hang up.”
Julien stood at the door of his room shaking. “May I come in?”
Richard nodded and sat down on the down-stuffed, loose-pillowed loveseat.
Julien sat next to him. “Mon ange, how did you figure it out?”
Richard chuckled. “With Colin’s book and a little push from my friend.”
“You’re not angry?” Julien asked tentatively.
