Chapter 1

The atmosphere in the royal Court was intense as the officials squirmed slightly in their seats.

Infront of them sat the werewolf king, a stormy expression on his face, not speaking.

Kim Namjoon, the King's elder brother and confidante shared a concerned look with Min Yoongi, the commander of the werewolf army.

'So you are telling me,' a deep baritone, almost husky and yet so intimidating voice drawled out,' that even after I explicitly set the law that no wolf is to have any form of contact with humans, except in cases of mating, a wolf foolishly decided to join the human army? And you all, the supposed to be smartest people in my kingdom, my court, didn't have any idea about this for five years?'

The silence that followed was deadly. No one making a sound in the fear of upsetting the king, who already has a very fearsome reputation. One wrong word and your body may lose its connection with its head.

King Taehyung was frightening. And deadly.

The glare the king sent towards all the court officials chilled them to their bones. Kim Taehyung was anything but forgiving. He was known to be cruel. He was known to be vicious.

And such a breach, where a werewolf was cahooting with the humans without their knowledge was not small, in hindsight, it could very much turn into the reason for a full blown war.

'Do you know what will happen if this information reached the humans first? The treaty will break and werewolves will be slaughtered. War will start. What is the use of having you all here if you cannot be useful?'

The hall thundered as the king growled. His anger was very much evident by the pheromones that were released, making all the werewolves in court submit in fear.

'Which clan does he belong to?'

Yoongi was the one who stepped forward," the Lee Clan your highness"

The king let out a menacing laugh, the hall thundering with the echos.

"The Lee clan. The only clan that thinks they are better than the royal family. Pathetic. Commander Yoongi, send for Alpha Lee and his beta. What else do we know of this werewolf who is apparently brave enough to disobey my order?"

Namjoon shrugged as he stepped forward. He was perhaps the only one who wasn't afraid of the werewolf king, mainly because the man sitting on the throne was the same kid whose diapers he had helped change.

"We don't have much information about him. Only his name and age. His subgender isn't clear as he went to the human side before he presented."

Taehyung hummed, curiosity burning bright. No omega or beta was foolish enough to disobey his command. Neither were they strong enough to actually survive in the military for 5 years. The werewolf in question must definitely be an Alpha, most probably a pure blood since they were known to be hot headed.

"What is his name?", Taehyung asked.

"Jeon Jungkook. 26 years old"

For some unknown reason, that name made Taehyung's stomach queasy.

Jeon Jungkook.

Had he heard it before? Taehyung wasn't sure. The name sounded familiar, so familiar.

"Does he have any family? Anything that we can use to compel him to give himself up to our army?"

Taehyung didn't want to send his soldiers into the human territory because it wasn't safe. Also if the humans, those in higher positions get even a whiff of this, they might use it as an excuse to break the treaty.

That was a risk Taehyung did not want to take.

Why bring forth harm on his people? Even though the werewolf community had the means to protect themselves, Taehyung still didn't want to bring forth a war which will take so many lives.

His first priority was making sure his people were safe.

And that included the soldiers.

"He was apparently adopted. His adopted parents are alive and he has two step siblings", Yoongi muttered, waiting patiently for his orders.

Taehyung sighed. He hated to bring the rebel wolf's family into this but he didn't really have a choice. It was either this or send his soldiers to retrieve the young Alpha.

"Bring his parents and his siblings here. Get them to communicate with the rebel wolf and ask him to come here in exchange for his family's safety. Make the threat sound reasonable"

Taehyung stood up after he gave the orders. His head was pounding due to the added stress.

"Court dismissed", with a flick of his hand, he dismissed the officials, while making his way towards his younger siblings room.

On days like this, all Taehyung wanted was to enjoy the warmth of his beloved siblings, his family.
