Chapter 3 - Playing in the streets and hills

Third person POV

 As they both grew up together, they learned new things like magic with the help of books and scrolls. In Kazaki's house, they learned how to use basic magic pretty fast, and thanks to Kazaki's father, they learned how to wield swords, and they began to sneak out every night to hunt monsters. 

Kazaki: "On your left, Roel!" As Kazaki shoots arrows

Roel: "Got it! Great Wind Slash!" The Great Wind Slash pretty much whipped out the monster.

Kazaki: "That was cool, Roel, Hey, check this out. It's the gemstones of the goblin warriors. There's 2 of them."

Roel: "What are gemstones again?"

Kazaki, looking disappointed, says, "I told you like 5 times. You were sleeping, weren't you? You see, gemstones of monsters hold skills. It is random, so if we use the gemstone, we get 3 random skills, like this." Kazaki uses his feet to destroy the gemstone and he gains Dash, Heavy Slash, and Heavy Stomp."See? Now, it's your turn to get your skills from this necromancer gemstone."

Roel did so and used his feet to destroy the said gemstone. Eventually, he gains Undead Summon, Undead Control, and Necromance Transformation.

Roel: "Wow! These skills are so awesome."

He then tried to use one of the skills, and he ended up summoning 2 Undead creatures.

He and Kazaki got terrified.

Roel: "Ah! Quickly, destroy it!"

Kazaki then used Heavy Slash to destroy the 2 Undead creatures, and they dissipated into nothing.

Roel sighed in relief. "Thanks, man, sorry about that."

Kazaki: "It's okay. It's really cool you did that."

Roel: "Aww, thanks."

After that, both of them went home after realizing that the moon was in the middle of the night.

After they sneak back into the house and on the way to their room, they got stopped by Kazaki's Older sister

Reina: "Both of you, where were you both?"

Kazaki: "Um, we went out for a walk after dinner, right, Roel?"

Roel: "Yeah, we did, Kazaki." Roel chuckles nervously.

Reina: "Then why did you two take your weapons with you?"

Kazaki: "Uh, it's because we…"

Reina: "You guys were fighting monsters?

Kazaki: "Totally for self-defense yea..."

Roel was silent at this point.

Reina: "Looks like I have a new story to tell mom and dad about."

Kazaki: "You would not dare because I know something myself."

Reina, sweating, nervously says, "No, you don't!" 

Kazaki: "Remember? Last night, you and that…"

Reina put her finger on Kazaki's mouth saying, "Oh, little brother. my nice little brother, my best brother in the whole world, I think it's time you for to sleep."

As she dragged Kazaki to his room, Kazaki told Roel, "Mission done, you have nothing to worry about. See ya in the morning"

Watching my friend being dragged by Reina, Roel gave a slight smile, before heading to his room for the night.

He was assured that Kazaki would be fine.

 The next morning, Kazaki and Roel are at the table. Kazaki's mother is cooking porridge for breakfast. Kaz just came back from chopping some wood. Reina became a bit nice to Kazaki and Roel, making the two a bit nervous. They don't know what will happen if Reina tells Kazaki's parents about what they did last night. Then, once they all ate up, Kazaki and Roel remained silent while eating their porridge. As Reina collected their dishes and said, "If you want anything else, you call me anytime." As she smiles cutely after that, Kazaki and Roel become uncomfortable around her so they leave the house and go on the hills to research some herbs.

Roel: "Why are we collecting herbs. I thought we were gonna have some action!"

Kazaki: "Herbs are also important, they can heal and give buffs to us during battle, so we must learn about them. Like this one, this is a moon flower. It helps us to see in the darkness."

As they collected herbs and learned about them, they didn't know that they had gained the skills Sense and Herbalist.

Roel: "Wait, what is this?" He realized that he gained those skills.

Now he knows what kind of herbs he comes across. 

Kazaki: "Let's collect some of these so we can see in the darkness."

Roel nodded, and they both collected the said herbs.

After that, they went on to collect other herbs nearby.

They eventually found a different herb called Nerve Herb.

Kazaki now knows what kind of herbs he comes across thanks to Sense and Herbalist.

Kazaki: "This one is called the Nerve Herb. This one increases our strength during battle."

Roel: "Sounds like an advantage to us."

Kazaki then nodded. "Let's get some."

They collected some of that herb so they could use it for battle.

They then put the herbs in their knapsack.

 Later after that, both of them went to the streets for a walk. At this hour, the streets are a bit busy with business activity. Sellers advertised their products and commodities constantly to passers-by while those who sold food tried to get their attention. Both of them went through a busy market street, but they weren't planning to buy anything. They were planning to sell those rare herbs in a guild for quick money, but little did they know something was waiting for them as they moved through the streets, they heard a voice,

Aife: "Give that back!"

Boy 1: "Ha! You'll never get it, loser!"

Aife tried to get it back but failed.

Upon seeing that, Kazaki suddenly had a flashback of him getting bullied. So, he said to Roel, "Let's stop them." Roel agreed, and they both went to the scene and intervened.

Kazaki: "Hey! What are you doing to her?"

Roel: "Yeah, give that thing back! We saw that!"

But the boy tried to man up and push both boys off.

Aife was holding her anger but didn't release it because she didn't want to cause any trouble. 

And so, the boy throws the necklace, but Kazaki catches it.

Aife is about to beat the boy and his friend, but Roel holds her.

Kazaki then used Identification to find out more about Aife, only to find out that she was a girl, and the necklace was holding her anger and making her relax. But when Kazaki snapped out of it, he saw that Roel was holding her by her chest, so he got behind him and said, "She is a girl" 

There was a moment of silence.

As Roel let her go, she turned around and snatched the necklace from Kazaki's hand, before slapping the shit out of Roel.

Roel: "Hey! Ouch!"

As Kazaki watches in horror standing on the side, he thinks, "Damn, she is something else."
