Aiden stopped from my touch as if his mind became clear again because the veil of anger had fallen down, so he looked at me: his amber eyes were so bright and so passionate. But I didn't even have time to catch whether it was real or not because he immediately looked away from me at that guy, put him down, and leaned closer to him.
"Get out with all your company. Now." Aiden whispered in the offender's ear, then pushed him away in the direction of his company, and turned to me.
Those were the only words I heard, but I definitely saw how that guy was trembling from head to toe and ran away as quickly as possible to his company, so they started gathering their things. I moved my eyes from them to Aiden's and noticed his eyes were the same color I saw before: blue and one eye with a brown mixture.
"Are you okay?" He took my chin with his hands, and it made me melt because of their warmth. I never felt such warm hands on my skin before, so I enjoyed it a little, still able to notice he can't control his emotions when he was worried about me. It can only prove the theory in my head that maybe he was the reason I saw those dreams.
"Yup," I said and suddenly hugged him. It didn't take him even a moment to hug me back and put his head at mine because he was taller. "Thanks" I whispered, and it made him flinch. I felt it with my whole body, so I hugged him a little tighter, then let him go and straightened up as if nothing had happened, "Now I'm ready to go back to work because there's no more danger."
"You are welcome," he said and turned around, then went to the bar counter while I went to the table where the three girls were sitting and waiting for me. I smiled at them, trying to be as friendly as possible and to pretend nothing really had happened just a few seconds ago. However, from their voices and facial expressions, I understood they definitely saw the head of the city and this nightclub, Aiden, protecting me from strangers and even hugging me. They're not going to be easy on me. I knew it.
"Good evening. I'm your waiter, Letty. Are you ready to make an order?"
They looked at me from head to toe a few times, before one of them finally answered.
"Any bottle of good champagne and a mix of fruits, please. And hurry up…" Said the blonde-haired woman and showed me her sharp teeth as if it was some kind of local greeting. I nodded and went straight to the bar counter when I suddenly noticed a moon badge on Rick's chest near his barman badge with his name. "Any bottle of champagne, three glasses, and a mix of fruits as soon as possible…"
"They asked to hurry up?" Rich caught my spoiled mood, then took a bottle of champagne out of the bar counter as if he knew they would like it, opened it, and filled in the glasses. Then put some cork back into the bottle, put everything on the tray, then held it to me.
"Yeah," I forced a smile to appear on my lips, and took the tray, waiting for any information about the fruits.
"Fruits in two minutes," he said both to me and to the small window near his bar counter, where I saw some eyes watching us. I quickly looked at Aiden typing something on his phone near the counter and went to that table to not make anyone wait.
"Here is your order. Fruits in two minutes" I said as formally as possible while putting the bottle and glasses on the table and leaving them, hearing not even a single "thank you" from their side.
"So rude," I rolled my eyes and Rick chuckled.
"Typical behavior from their side," he took the tray from me, put it under the bar counter, and looked at Aiden. He seemed to be very busy, but Rick decided to bother him, "Wanna something, boss?"
"Whiskey to my office, please," Aiden left some money on the counter and went upstairs straight to his office. I saw how he put a phone near his ear and started talking with someone, entering his office.
"He's paying money in his own nightclub?" I asked when the black wall turned to its place, leaving no chance for Aiden to hear my question.
"Yeah. Rule number one of this city. Even if you're in charge, pay, and the money you paid will go for the city's needs." Rick said as if he was repeating that rule every day and night, then took the bottle of Scotch Whiskey out of the counter, filled a glass, and gave it to me. "Just knock the wall."
"And fruits?" I asked, pointing to the big plate of fruits standing not far away from us on the bar counter, near the same small window leading to the kitchen, where Rick ordered this plate. I noticed all the fruits were put in some strict order where all the colors mixed, leaving drool inside my mouth.
"Catherine will deliver," he said and rang a bell. I nodded and without waiting any more minutes, went upstairs straight to Aiden's office, then stopped near the wall, knocked, and when it opened I came in. Aiden hasn't paid any attention to me, talking on his phone.
"They offended my woman, so my behavior is quite normal. We can talk about it later… Yeah, there will be a moonflower camp this year too, but I'd like us to participate in it…"
{He's talking about me! But with whom? Also, I don't know which camp he was talking about. Moreover, the name of the camp sounded too strange but pretty familiar to me. By the way, why does Aiden call me "his woman"?}
Before Aiden turned around and noticed me, I heard his last words that threw me even into deeper bewilderment.
"I waited for so long, I can't let everything ruin it just now. I won't let her leave me again, even if it wasn't her intention…"
"Your whiskey, Aiden," I said when I saw he was looking at me, feeling my cheeks blush. I tried to hide my embarrassment and stepped further into his office, put his glass of whiskey on his table, and stepped a bit away.
"Wait here," he opened a balcony and went out to end his conversation. I couldn't hear him talking there, so I started looking over his office, which I wasn't able to look over earlier, and noticed a photo in a frame standing on his table with its back to me. When I was about to take that photo in my hands, Aiden came back to the room, so I immediately took my hand back and turned red from head to toe.
"Do you want anything more?" I asked, still blushing, and hid my hands behind my back.
"No, thanks." He took the photo I didn't have time to see in his one hand, took the glass of whiskey in his other hand, drank the whiskey to the last droplet, looking at that photo. Then hid it in one of the drawers on his table, and looked up at me. His eyes were so warm inside and cold outside that I can explain this only because he was trying hard to hide his warmth from me with his cold, but he couldn't. I blushed again, and it made his eyes light up brighter with warm feelings. Then, he went around his table and stood in front of me. I put my head up to look at him because he was taller.
"I have some… more questions?"
"A bit later…" He said, looking at the watch on his left wrist, went to the wall, knocked at it, so the wall moved aside, and I saw the staircase leading downstairs. I sighed and followed him to the bar, where he put his empty glass.
"Repeat," he commanded, and Rick quickly filled his glass with the same whiskey.
"Is there anything new?" I looked at Rick, and he pointed to the table.
"There's some liquid spilled on the floor. Can you mop it up?"
"Sure!"
"The Mop is in the kitchen!" Rick pointed to the door near the staircase leading to Aiden's office, and I went straight there to grab that mop when I heard Aiden's voice.
"Where's the cleaning lady?"
"She's cleaning the WC. Someone threw up…" Rick replied, and I lost their conversation when I entered the kitchen.
"Hello! I need a mop. Can you guys borrow me please?" I asked and smiled friendly. The kitchen was very big and comfortable, not taking into consideration it was a nightclub. There was a lot of different professional stuff here.
The kitchen staff looked at me.
"A new waitress everyone's talking about?" asked some girl with dark black hair put in a sloppy bun.
"I'm just studying," I blushed.
They giggled all at once and one of the girls gave me the mop.
"Turn it back, please, after you finish…" She smiled friendly at me and turned back to making a few portions of salad.
"Sure!" I left the kitchen and went back to Rick. I noticed Aiden sitting at the table with indigo light in the company of two men. They had full glasses of whiskey with some snacks. They were busy talking, maybe even about the recent events that happened here. Perhaps they were discussing something much more important, however, I somehow felt they were talking about me and probably because of the words I heard Aiden say in his office. He seems to dislike those guys, one of whom offended me, and it could be he called his friends here to help him solve the mystery.
However, why I'm so sure the world is spinning around me? Possibly his friends came here just to have some fun…
That's the last one for today. See you tomorrow! I hope you enjoy it!
