Echoes
Layton was moving through the nothingness, trying to reach the shadow plane when the sound emerged. The heavenly tune seemed to fix all matter and life around. Numerous laws and hidden rules were stirred by the chord. Layton tried to stir his will, but he still couldn't move. Time seemed to forcefully stop; even his spiritual power and will couldn't extend any more than it had been exerted a nanosecond ago before the chord resounded. Layton didn't have any time to panic, as almost instantaneously, a vast light that seemed to emerge from all corners of the plane engulfed him.
