Suspicious

After some time, it was noon and Austin needed to go to the company's branch at this moment so to not be late despite being late already.

Yasaka and Kunou felt little sad for his departure but he assured them that if there was a chance in the future, they might meet again, leaving both with beautiful smiles on their faces.

During the whole stroll, Yasaka was holding his hand and rubbing it slowly making Austin think that this woman was in a need for a husband quickly or else, something dangerous might happen. He, a dragon, if provoked may do things that are out of his control. His lust could reach the roof in just a matter of seconds.

But he didn't know that that husband she was in need for, was already in front of her the whole time, but let's keep it for another time as there are things far more important that this.

After bidding farewell to the two, he walked to the company's branch where he would supervise and help in the serum making process. But to the mind, a serum that could reverse the process where the organs of the body are dead due to the cancer spreading is highly impossible, this is just a fantasy.

We are not in Resident Evil or something to make a serum that could grant immortality or create Captain America.

This is what the human mind would think, but to Austin, his world is no longer normal like before but filled with many supernatural beings including gods themselves, heck he may see Odin wandering in a bar or a brothel near here, after all, that old man was a huge pervert like a certain protagonist who liked breasts and asses.

That means that there could be new elements in the nature that have supernatural effects like healing or recovery magic. And if he used his dragonian mind and knowledge he obtained from the library in his mind along with his power over creation, he could certainly make it with 100% success in a very short span of time. Just with a snap of his fingers and it's done.

But Austin didn't like that, in his whole life, he would try his best to overcome the problem in front of him with his own strength, although his dragon powers are considered a part of him but it is too easy for him to believe, he could use it to protect his loved ones or kill his enemies, but to help him in dealing with that he loved from the bottom of his heart is a big no to him.

He would do it as a human with his normal human mind although it was enhanced further due to his dragon heart pumping mana to all his organs making them more powerful, more efficient and more effective but that was out of his control. Only his dragon powers won't be used.

So he won't depend on his dragonic powers, just like he always does.

Few minutes later, Austin arrived at the entrance of the company and walked to the guards who were standing in front of it before showing his ID card that had his name and profession on it. One of the guards looked at the ID card and nodded at Austin before bowing respectively.

"We greet sir Austin Anderson Moore, the Chief of the scientists."

Austin only nodded before walking inside without any further words. He didn't glance at anything else and just walked to the elevator that would lead to the main lab where the development of the serum would be in progress.

The elevator reached the 5th floor of the building and Austin walked out until he reached a door with a small board a top of it saying "Lab" glowing in blue.

Austin didn't hesitate and opened it before walking inside. Here, before you go to the actual lap, you have to be sterilized before wearing a lab coat because there are some materials in the lab that are kept well besides they can't be handled without being clean like how doctors sterilize themselves before doing an operation to prevent the patient from being polluted or catch any disease.

Austin did the sterilization process before wearing a lab coat, then took out a glasses he used to wear whenever he was going to work on something inside his lab or the company's lab and wore it, although he doesn't need to but it was like a habit to him and you know, habits never die.

After that being done, Austin walked to the actual lab. Once opening the door, all those who were working stopped at what they were doing and looked at who walked inside to see a blonde golden haired man with a very handsome features wearing a lab coat and glasses. They all looked at the ID card that was hanging around his neck that had his name and profession on it and they immediately stood up and bowed respectively to Austin.

"Welcome to our humble lab, Chief of the Scientists."

He nodded "Go back to your work, don't mine me."

They nodded and went back to their work without any additional word. His words after all were the law here in the this lab.

They were all notified of Austin's arrival by the higher-ups yesterday so they weren't that surprised. They also prepared a private lab for him at another place in the main lab.

"Sir, please this way." A man walked to him wearing a lab coat as well with a nameplate on it, the name was "Homoura Toji", he was the head of this team of scientists.

Austin nodded at him and walked with him as he led him to the private lab where he would work. Walking inside, everything was there, from a glassy board and white board pens, to computers and other tools he could use. In this lab, he would adjust the formula of the serum and form the correct one that could lead to the actual serum they were working on.

Sitting on his chair, Austin looked at the multiple papers in front of him, they had many strange symbols, numbers, characters, formulas that he understood with just a glance. But there was one paper that grabbed his attention. The paper was sticking out of a pile of papers. But when he was about to grab it, a hand moved like flash and took away it immediately.

Austin looked at the Homoura Toji with questioning gaze wanting to know why he did that.

"This was a paper of mine sir, not related to the formula of the serum currently in development. You could consider it just some writings to spend my time whenever I was free hehe." He laughed awkwardly while hiding the paper behind his back. Beads of sweat formed on his forehead as he saw Austin still looking at him with cold gaze filled with suspicion. It sent shivers down his spine as if some great being was looking at him, a being beyond his comprehension. It made him quite afraid to be honest.

Few seconds flew by like that until Austin sighed and said "Then go for now, I don't want anyone to bother me as long as I'm working here."

"Yes sir, immediately." The man hurriedly said with a hint of relief in his voice before walking out and closing the door behind him.

But Austin didn't take his eyes from the door where Homoura Toji left.

"That paper....." He muttered before going back to the pile of papers and started arranging them before his hands stopped and rested on the papers.

'Hope he doesn't make it.'

He thought before resuming his work again of arranging the papers in front of him to know where he needs to start from.

And then time passed slowly in the lab.
