''Not again that room. Maybe because I was thinking about it? Never mind, now is too late. Should I get that book?''
Li Na already copied the book so she slowly brought the two books back and took one that had the name of Meng Empire. She sighed and looked around. Should she write a message?
''I will borrow this book for a while as I am interested where you come from. I gave you the two precious books back. As thanks for letting me borrow, I will leave a plate with sweets for you. Enjoy it. By the way, the gate is opening only on the day of a full moon. Thank you one more time.''
The paper she wrote was a special paper she made a few days ago. Dry flowers surrounded whole paper and a beautiful frame for the letter was made. Luckily Li Na had somewhat good writing style for her age and a steady hand so the letters were pretty with that background.
Reading the book Li Na became more and more confused. It seems they are not living in the same world. Looking at the map of their country and the coastal line she was sure it was not the same continent or even the same planet.
There was an old story that before continents split up there was one large continent on Earth. What if in their reality the continent never split up? Anyway, reading about all the wondrous things inside that world, she became quite intrigued.
Suddenly a noise could be heard from the other room and she heard panicked calls from servants so she left the book there and rushed out. Seeing people running around her aunt, she pressed her lips. She should have asked about the ingredients. It seems that the book is worthless in her world. She needs those things. And she needs it now.
The doctor came and gave her aunt an IV drip and she knew she couldn't do anything as they all practically told her to leave the room. Still feeling that strange energy, she rushed down to the library, locked the door and concentrated.
What she saw would be funny if she was not in a hurry. The young man stood there munching on the cookies with a blissful expression and looked at her in astonishment.
''It's an emergency. I have only a bit of energy left. I need your help. Only in your world is a medicine called 'New Breath'. Can you bring me the ingredients or the potion itself? Someone is on the brink of death and only that potion can help her. Please.''
The young man nodded. ''I have that thing. Can you wait for a few minutes, please? I need to run to my room.''
He could see her pale face and knew she was overusing her powers. He was in just two steps outside the reading room and quickly jumped over a few walls like they didn't really exist much, grabbed the potion and was already near the room when he called her calling.
''It's closing, I can't keep it open!''
He jumped inside the room and literally threw the potion toward the opening that became visibly smaller and luckily it passed through it, just in the last moment making him sigh in relief.
''What was that about?''
Wang Weisheng rushed towards him and saw him sweating profusely.
''What happened?''
''That child used her powers to open the gate. As she is just little child she can't open it for a long time. She asked me to give her 'New Breath'' for someone in her world so I did.''
''Child, we bought that potion for so much money, as an insurance, in case you were on the brink of death. A new war is coming. Those clans on the west are unruly again.''
Wang Weiming sighed. He knew that they bought that medicine for him, but somehow he knew that it was important to help that child.
''Grandfather, you know that moment when you have felt some things must be done at a certain moment. I know I made the right decision.''
Looking at his grandson a feeling of pride rose in his heart and grew immeasurably. He patted his head.
''We are soldiers that protect lives, not only take them. You are right. Sometimes we should just make the choice.''
Wang Weiming went inside and came out with a letter and a big plate filled with sweets.
''Sweets and a letter, how interesting. Every full moon? Maybe next full moon...''
But, his grandfather saw Wang Weiming shaking his head.
''She looked exhausted. I can check it, but I fear she won't be able to open the gate for a while. If we need to go to war again I will leave a message for her. And no one is to touch it until one of us is back.''
''Your mother and grandmother might chat with her.''
He looked at the cookies. They look like dry sweets that can last for a long time. If he puts it in his bag... Suddenly all cookies were gone and his grandfather rose his eyebrows.
''Seriously? Not letting me even taste one of them?''
Wang Weiming took one of the cookies out, broke half of it and gave it to his perplexed grandfather that just shook his head. Half is better than none anyway. But after tasting it he was frozen stiff. He actually was not a fan of sweets, but this thing was slightly bittersweet and gave him a feeling of wanting more.
Looking at his own empty hand he blinked at his grandson's side bag and narrowed his eyes.
''One, give me one more.''
''No way, old man.'' He stepped back and shook his head.
''Old man? No respect at all. I am your grandfather. Have some respect and give me one more!''
Wang Weiming saw him trying to snatch his bag and escaped far away.
''Mine!''
''You little bugger. Let me just catch you. I will take them all.''
''Dream on!''
Lee Meili and Song Luli stood in mid of the yard and saw two shadows running here and there, while heavy curses were resounding through the whole estate.
''Why are they arguing about sweets?''
Lee Meili suddenly clapped her hands. ''That child! She must have sent again sweets and that old man tested it. They must taste so amazing.''
Suddenly a huffing man stood in front of her and pointed at the young man, that sat calmly on a nearby wall.
''That little dragon welp gave me to taste something so delicious, that I have a feeling I need to get it again. Ask him to give it to you two as well...''
Lee Meili knocked his head with her fan suddenly.
''Right. So you could beg us for it. Do you think we are that easy? Let him have sweets. Now explain what really happened. Is it that child again?''
Looking at his suddenly serious face she knew she was right.
