As Clark arrived at the New York Sanctum, the last barrier between Earth and other dimensions had already been breached by a traitor from within.
With the barrier broken, Dormammu, unable to contain himself any longer, burst through the spatial rift between the two realms. Above the Pearl of the Orient, he opened a gateway linking the material plane of Earth with the Dark Dimension.
Suddenly, a massive black vortex appeared in the night sky, like a gaping maw from the abyss, threatening to swallow the beautiful city and the entire Earth.
The area around the magic sanctum became the epicenter of destruction as buildings collapsed under the impact of the Dark Dimension, resulting in countless casualties.
Winter... ahem, darkness had arrived!
As a catastrophe seemed inevitable...
Suddenly!
Everything around abruptly stopped—pedestrians running in panic, people belatedly going about their business, collapsing buildings, speeding cars, splashing water—everything seemed to freeze in time.
All was silent.
At that moment, a tall and handsome figure appeared on the street, outside the area enveloped by the dark space.
This handsome man was cloaked in a bright red cape, with gems embodying infinite power embedded on each shoulder—one of them shimmering with a green light.
Although he had already mastered the powers of the Power, Space, and Reality Stones, in this situation, the Time Stone seemed a more convenient tool to tackle the crisis.
Suddenly sensing a presence, Clark looked straight ahead and saw three dark disciples emerging from the dark space, the leader among them radiating a powerful magical aura.
Upon seeing Clark, the leader smirked, "Clark Lee, you're too late."
"No!" Clark responded with a light smile. "I'm just in time."
As he spoke, without any noticeable movement, three beams of purple destructive energy shot out from him, aimed directly at the three dark disciples.
Clark had no time or interest in small talk with these minions of Dormammu.
They didn't deserve it.
As the destructive energy swept over them, two of the dark disciples were obliterated before they could even scream.
+999 impression points from Caius!
Unexpectedly, Caius did not perish under Clark's casual strike. However, it wasn't due to his own power or even the dark forces he wielded. It was Dormammu himself who intervened to block Clark's lethal energy.
As Clark's inadvertent attack was thwarted, Caius was immediately dragged by an invisible force of dark energy back into the dark space.
Dormammu personally saved Caius's life—did this mean he was particularly important to him?
With this question in mind, Clark stepped forward and entered the space gateway to the Dark Dimension.
Dealing with Caius, a potential threat, was important, but resolving the immediate crisis of Dormammu was crucial.
The spatial gateway linking the Dark Dimension and Earth was already prepared by Dormammu, who had coveted Earth for many years. The gateway, large enough to accommodate beings of peak universal power, was ready for use as soon as the magic sanctums were destroyed, allowing him to descend and fulfill his ambition to devour Earth.
Inside the gateway, everything was based on darkness, with other colors accentuating it to form unique spheres resembling miniature planets, giving the entire channel an eerie and bizarre appearance.
The dense and aggressive dark energy in the area attempted to infiltrate Clark's body as soon as he entered, but such minor corruption was easily repelled by his divine power before it could even reach him.
Taking another step forward, Clark found himself standing on a relatively stable "planet."
Directly in front of him, a massive black skull appeared, its eyes alone larger than Clark himself, exuding a mesmerizing and fearsome power.
Looking at the enormous skull before him, Clark couldn't help but smirk playfully, "Dormammu, I've come to end you!"
"You're here to die!" Dormammu roared, lifting a hand larger than the Hulkbuster armor to strike down at Clark.
Clark, seeing this, simply raised his hand upward, his immense divine power manifesting as a giant palm that met Dormammu's with a precise counter.
"Boom!"
The clash of multiversal-level powers was like a celestial collision. The fierce energy radiated outward from the point of contact, annihilating everything in its path except for the "planet" under Clark's feet.
Failing to land a hit, Dormammu's eyes widened in shock and disbelief, "You miserable thief, you've grown this powerful?"
Clark scoffed, "You ugly freak."
Dormammu, enraged, retorted, "You despicable thief!"
As if a being that devoured planets and life could call anyone else a thief!
But of course, Clark wasn't about to argue ethics with him, simply responding, "Ugly freak!"
+99999 impression points from Dormammu!
Dormammu, unable to take it anymore, bellowed, "Can't
you say anything else?"
"Your face looks like Thanos's chin."
+99999 impression points from Dormammu!
As a multiversal entity, Dormammu was well aware of other powerful beings across the multiverse, including Thanos, favored by Lady Death. But knowing this only fueled his rage.
Because even in Dormammu's eyes, Thanos's chin was grotesquely ugly.
And here was this infuriating human daring to compare him to that ugly chin! Dormammu was nearly driven mad, "Don't you dare mention that chin again!"
Clark, ever accommodating, replied, "Okay, ugly freak!"
"Argh! You're driving me insane!"
For Dormammu, who had been a dominant multiversal force for eons, accustomed to unquestioned authority in the Dark Dimension, encountering Clark's infuriating style was unprecedented.
Amidst his roars, Dormammu opened his mouth wide, a white beam of energy shooting towards Clark.
Clearly, Dormammu had been driven mad by Clark's psychological tactics, engaging in combat without fully assessing his opponent in this special space, using an attack that could not be retracted.
Wasn't this asking for trouble?
Clark merely drew a circle in the air with his finger, deploying a space magic he hadn't used in ages. Instantly, two portals appeared in this unique space.
One end of the portal opened in front of him, while the other end was set by Clark right in front of Dormammu.
What happened next was quite amusing.
Dormammu's beam of white energy, passing through the portal, was redirected by the spatial abilities straight back to its own exit—right into his own face!
"Bang!"
Under the impact of the powerful magical energy, even Dormammu, a being as formidable as he was, couldn't help but have a hole blasted through his head.
Fortunately for him, as a multiversal entity, his life form was no longer ordinary, devoid of any "vital" points.
Otherwise, that blow alone would have been fatal.
Yet even so, Dormammu was thoroughly shaken by his own energy, clearly injured on the spot.
However, such wounds were not serious for Dormammu, roughly equivalent to Thanos getting his face scratched by Tony. Once the energy beam vanished, Dormammu's appearance and energy immediately returned to normal, and he launched a series of magical attacks at Clark.
Now significantly empowered, Clark was unfazed. With a thought, he expanded to match Dormammu's size and engaged the Dark Dimension overlord in hand-to-hand combat.
Two multiversal entities clashing wildly, the stray energy from their battle alone sufficient to reduce any sub-celestial being to ashes.
If an onlooker were to witness this scene, they would be astounded.
Because here was Dormammu, an established multiversal force, being thoroughly outmatched by Clark, a newbie to the multiversal scene.
Pressed to the ground, they grappled fiercely!
In the Marvel Universe, where cultivation wasn't a thing, an ancient being getting thrashed by a newly emerged mutant was common.
But for someone like Clark, with clearly less experience and power level than his opponent, to turn the tables was exceedingly rare.
