After absorbing the massive cosmic energy from Grandmaster, Clark not only significantly increased his strength but also instantly restored his physical fitness to its peak.
When he used the energy of the Space Gem to return to the battleground on Sakaar, the battle had reached a stalemate.
In just a moment, more than ten thousand security troops had gathered from all sides, encircling the weak, pitiful, and helpless A-Tier master Daisy Johnson, launching a brutal assault on her.
Our kind-hearted Daisy, even now, couldn't bear to kill these hostile alien lives and instead was left in a sorry state by the ordinary Sakaar soldiers, who were like ants to her.
Fortunately, Daisy was not fighting alone. At her side, she now had two allies.
One was Thor, and the other was also Thor.
It was Thor Odinson and Beta Ray Bill, who, amidst the chaos, found the remote control for the neurotoxin electric shock device. They removed the painful electric therapy device, each grabbed their hammers, joined Daisy, and collectively defended against the powerful enemies.
These two Thors were not as merciful as Daisy. Their hammers whirled and twirled, and with each strike, scores of enemies were obliterated.
Thor, as Odin's son, naturally had a more impressive weapon. Any thunderbolt from Mjolnir killed no less than 80 enemies. Beta Ray Bill's Stormbreaker was slightly less effective, with a minimum of 40 enemies scattered per strike.
Big hammer eighty, small hammer forty!
Compared to them, Daisy's gentle approach meant her shockwaves were less lethal. However, the enemies knocked down by her waves lost the ability to move or resist and were easily dispatched by the thunderous strikes of the two hammers, leaving them with no energy to even flee.
Seeing this, Daisy could only console herself that these people weren't killed by her hands. Whether their transition from barely surviving to certain death was due to her was not something she had to consider while surrounded by enemies.
Seeing that the trio was not in danger, but unlikely to end the battle soon, Clark hesitated but decided not to intervene. Instead, he turned and entered the collapsed Champion Building.
Daisy needed to gain experience, and with two Thors to protect her, Clark didn't need to worry about her safety. It was a good opportunity to take a look around Grandmaster's lair.
Sakaar had plenty of black technology items, a perfect chance to see if there were any suitable spoils of war to take along.
Grandmaster's wealth was surely no less than his brother the Collector's. The Collector loved to collect, while Grandmaster was solely interested in combat. Hence, in Grandmaster's possession, there weren't as many miscellaneous items. Instead, there were over a hundred billion credits, numerous high-tech items, and some precious treasures.
However, the types of treasures collected by Grandmaster and the Collector differed.
The Collector collected for the sake of collecting, not caring whether an item had practical value, only that it was rare.
Even a "treasure" without any practical use, as long as it was unique, was among his favorite collectibles.
Grandmaster's collection, on the other hand, was more about practicality. Clark found several black technology spaceships and weapons in his residence, along with very practical rare materials like Vibranium, Uru metal, Star Cores, and some special minerals and energy cells with unknown uses.
Clark, of course, took all these items, packing them into three black technology spaceships. He then shrank them to the size of figurines using Pym Particles and stored them in his personal space.
Done!
After searching Grandmaster's residence for over an hour and confirming there was nothing else worth taking, Clark walked out of the main door, only to find the battle outside nearing a deadlock.
In short, all of Grandmaster's loyal troops had perished in the initial battle. The remaining soldiers, whose loyalty to Grandmaster was limited, were reluctant to fight to the death. So, they encircled the trio from a distance without engaging.
However, out of fear of Grandmaster's long-established tyranny, they dared not let them go, merely dragging out the situation, waiting to see how things would develop.
"Um..." Seeing this, Clark first attracted everyone's attention, then leisurely said, "I forgot to tell you when I came back. Actually, Grandmaster is already dead by my hand. Do you still want to keep fighting for him?"
"What!" The leader of Grandmaster's troops could hardly believe his ears, "You killed Grandmaster? Are you insane? Do you know how revered his status is in the universe? You're just..."
"What do I care about his status?" Clark snorted disdainfully, "Anyone who dares to scheme against me deserves death. There might be people in the universe who fear his status, but I'm not one of them. And I doubt anyone would risk their lives over his status to trouble me."
He swept his gaze mockingly over the crowd, then disdainfully said, "In fact, even you, Grandmaster's subordinates, aren't willing to die for him. How much less those unrelated to him?"
"Do you believe that even those cosmic powers who once acknowledged Grandmaster's position would rather chat and laugh with me than avenge that idiot?"
Seeing Daisy and the Thors were exhausted, Clark smiled slightly, "Enough talk. Now, I give you two choices. Continue opposing me and die by my Power Stone, or let us leave peacefully."
The leading commander remained silent, but another commander quietly retreated, making their choice clear through their actions.
Their own lives were more important than Grandmaster's noble status.
Or perhaps, without Grandmaster's oppression, their future might be better?
After signaling Daisy and the two Thors, Clark activated the Space Gem, returning them to Earth.
Witnessing this, the Sakaar military leaders exchanged glances, relieved to have survived the ordeal.
As for Grandmaster?
They would surely keep him as a revered goal throughout their lives, vowing vengeance only in words.
Clark then let Daisy settle the two Thors at the Avengers' base and once again used the Space Gem, teleporting to the Void.
Upon seeing Clark again, the Collector, Taneleer Tivan, widened his eyes in surprise, "Mr. Clark, I don't know if it's an illusion, but I feel a familiar energy from you. It's a very intimate feeling that makes one want to get closer."
Clark smiled and didn't hide anything, "I heard you collected Surtur's crown, right? That was actually a spoils of war my nephew Thor got after defeating Surtur. However, he was ambushed and captured, and the crown became the possession of the captors."
"The cosmic thief sold the crown to you but sold my nephew Thor to Grandmaster. When I went to Sakaar to retrieve him, Grandmaster was extremely troublesome and even tried to ambush me without honor. You know my temperament, so now, his power is mine."
Hearing Clark admit to killing his own brother, the Collector, after a moment of surprise, enthusiastically approved, "Well done!"
Then, without waiting for Clark to respond, he took out Surtur's crown and said, "Since this item is your nephew's spoils of war, it's not right for me
to keep it. It should be returned to its rightful owner."
Seeing the Collector's genuine manner, Clark waved his hand, "No, I always talk reason. You bought it from the cosmic thief, so it's rightfully yours. However, this item is of great use to me. I won't take advantage of you. Let's make a trade. How about that?"
The Collector's eyes lit up, "What are you offering, Mr. Clark?"
"This..." As Clark spoke, he waved his hand, and a dark, floating throne, seemingly made of special minerals, appeared before the Collector, "Although it looks ordinary, this throne was originally Thanos's, a symbol of his status. I took it with me when I destroyed Sanctuary II."
Pausing briefly, Clark continued, "I'm willing to exchange this for Surtur's crown. What do you think?"
