Hyperion! Clark's mind instantly recalled information he had seen online in his previous life.
Marvel's Four Supermen: Sentry, Blue Marvel, Gladiator, and Hyperion!
Each of these four individuals possessed powers and styles similar to DC's Superman.
Hyperion, in particular, had the most complex background, appearing as either a hero or a villain in different universes, yet always with a history and abilities similar to Superman's.
Seems like this guy and Zemo are of the same race? Clark admitted his limited knowledge about such a character who had never even appeared in movies or TV shows.
He asked the prison warden for the guard who witnessed Hyperion breaking through the ceiling for details. It turned out the guard didn't see Hyperion's moment of eruption but saw him killing several prisoners before escaping his cell. Hyperion then encountered guards in the lobby.
It seemed he was still afraid of the guards, which is why he broke through seven floors in one go and fled.
After reviewing the surveillance footage, Clark finally understood what happened.
Hyperion didn't possess all his abilities from the start. He was even overpowered by several inmates, one of whom snatched a necklace from his neck, triggering Hyperion's sudden surge of power.
Seeing this, Clark immediately realized the necklace's significance. It might be like kryptonite, capable of suppressing Hyperion.
The warden then mentioned, "The one who stole Hyperion's necklace is Smith Gerard, a bully in this prison. I usually don't intervene in prisoners' affairs, but I never expected this to happen…"
Clark asked, "Where is this Smith now?"
The warden, looking embarrassed, replied, "He also escaped during the chaos Hyperion created and is currently untraceable."
Clark inspected the scene once more but found no clues about the necklace, which Smith apparently took with him while escaping.
This was indeed troublesome!
Planning to leave and strategize further, Clark was informed that Smith Gerard's body had been found, but the vital necklace was still missing.
Smith had hijacked a police car, escaping Clark's earlier search.
Upon discovery, all five prisoners in the car were dead.
Clark examined the bodies and found no external injuries. Even after probing with his energy, he detected no internal damage or signs of poisoning.
The prisoners' deaths were peaceful, as if they had simply fallen asleep.
Rubbing his temples, Clark said, "This is getting more complicated. Warden, do your job. Someone from the authorities will soon take over. I've already explained the situation to them. Just cooperate."
With that, Clark soared into the sky, heading towards New York.
Hyperion's emergence had indeed caught Clark off guard.
From what he knew, Hyperion's abilities had always been suppressed by the necklace, so much so that even he hadn't noticed.
In a sense, saying his powers had just awakened wasn't far-fetched.
If such power had just awakened and given time to develop and adapt, Clark felt dealing with an early arrival of Thanos might have been easier.
After all, with Thanos on Earth, he could seek help from the Ancient One or Odin.
But this suddenly emerged Hyperion, while not as destructive as Thanos, might not concern such powerful beings like Odin or the Ancient One.
What a headache! Wait a minute!
Clark suddenly remembered seeing the World Origin Will's projection in Tony's lab and receiving a random BGM lottery card. Deciding to use it for a change of mood, he drew...
"The Blissful Pure Land"
Level: 1 (Non-upgradable) Effect: Who does the Pure Land forgive? Target anyone within sight (regardless of their strength level). The music's chosen person will uncontrollably dance to it until the music ends. If attacked while dancing, they will regain freedom just before being hit.
Each use costs 100 million impression points.
Is this... meant for buying time to escape?
Still, seeing the words "regardless of strength level," Clark felt quite satisfied with the draw.
If he encounters an unbeatable enemy, he could force them to dance in place, buying strategic retreat time. Quite practical.
Returning to the Pym Lab, Clark prepared the ultimate serum for the Ancient One, then used a portal to Kamar-Taj.
It had been a year since he last saw the Ancient One.
Back then, she had internal injuries and asked for his help against Dormammu's sister, Omar, promising to send Mordo to Clark later. A year passed, and he hadn't seen Mordo.
Clark decided it was a good time to check on the Sorcerer Supreme and possibly learn something.
This time, Clark met the Ancient One directly in the courtyard. Compared to her previously injured state, she looked much better.
Clark smiled and approached, asking, "Have you forgotten something since our last meeting, Sorcerer Supreme?"
The Ancient One, knowing he referred to the spatial rift, calmly explained, "Due to sudden changes in a parallel universe, that rift didn't appear. Such occurrences are rare and likely caused by a disruption in the timeline of a parallel universe."
Clark was baffled but noted the significant information that timeline changes could affect the multiverse.
The Ancient One continued, "But what's meant to happen will happen. The spatial rift and Omar's invasion will still occur, just delayed. According to my calculations, your involvement in this battle will yield far better results than mine."
So, he still needed to fight Omar?
Clark was prepared since agreeing to fight a year ago.
Changing the subject, he presented an ultimate serum, explaining its benefits and potential for regenerating limbs and restoring sight.
However, the Ancient One firmly refused, stating it wouldn't cleanse her of dark energy or ease the pain of suppressing it.
Disappointed but understanding, Clark wondered if his only help would be in the upcoming battle against Omar.
Silence fell, with both enjoying the brief tranquility before the storm.
After an hour, the Ancient One sighed and broke the silence, "The inevitable has arrived, Clark. The upcoming battle holds both risks and opportunities. Are you truly ready?"
Clark's fighting spirit reignited, "I've been ready since a year ago!"
Seeing Clark's quick adaptability, the Ancient One smiled and opened a portal to a dazzling, dreamlike space.
On the other side of the portal, Clark felt intense light energy waves.
He knew this was the spatial rift the Ancient One spoke of, more wondrous than any material plane.
Without hesitation, he stepped through.
As the portal closed, Clark sensed a hateful dark energy entering the rift from somewhere ahead, powerful enough to push back the surrounding light energy. It was stronger than Hyperion's power he had just encountered!
Thankfully, the rift's own rules counteracted this, creating a balance point where the dark energy ceased its influx.
Then, the dark energy slowly condensed, taking the form of a stunning, green-haired woman.
The battle with Omar was about to begin.
