Change

"Mia, Mia, wake up," Inaya shook Mia, but she lay still. "Mia," Inaya kept calling. She put her dress back on and tried ti dress Mia. But still Mia did not wake up.

"Oh my god, oh my god," Inaya checked Mia's pulses and began to cry. "Oh god, oh dear god, Mia," Inaya began to cry.

"Oh you are awake, I thought you are dead too. I came to tell you that, because of the peculiar procedure done on you, you will not be able conceive a child or give birth again," the woman who conducted the deed came out and said. "The other one is dead I guess then. She hasn't woken up yet," she said heartlessly and left.

"How could you? How could you? Stop, what did you do to her?" Inaya questioned. "Both of you were aware of this. She knew she is in danger, yet she chose this. It has happened. It was expected. Now take her body and leave. We don't want to go through the trouble of burials. We don't have enough space to dispose waste, forget people," she spoke and left.

Inaya did not know what to do. "Mia wake up, wake up. Please wake up," she sat crying. Her heart began to beat faster than ever. Anxiety kicked in. The word burial triggered everything in her. Inaya's hand began to shiver. She took her bag and also Mia's. She only had a little money left with her, but Mia appeared to have plenty.

She looked at Mia. "Please forgive me," she said again and again and bowed. Soon Inaya stood up.

"I don't have the strength to do this," she cried and she turned away. "Forgive me, forgive me for leaving like this," she kept saying and she ran out of the building.

Inaya was in extreme pain. She could not move faster and her bleeding began once again. Still Inaya tried running. She wanted to escape. She did not want to go back to the pub. She did not want to live in this down town. She wanted to leave, to live in a different palce, better place. Inaya did not hesitate but hailed a cab. She wiped her legs and thighs, trying to look neat. She wiped her face, and tried not to cry, shaking out of terror. She touched her belly and tried to feel glad that she is no longer pregnant.

Inaya looked at the driver. "Drop me off at the bus stop," she said.

"Ok ma'am," he nodded and drove away. As the taxi moved further and further away from the town, she began to feel glad. She was aware how everyone at the pub would not even be aware of Mia's or her disappearance. And Inaya decided to utilise that chance to start fresh.

"It's ok. It's ok. Nothing happened. It's not your mistake. Why should you be scared? It was her fault to have been careless. Don't feel guilty for what happened. You are just trying to survive on your own and you always hated the pub and the kind of work done there." Inaya told herself to face the truth and reality.

"Ma'am, we gave reached the bus hub," driver informed. Inaya came back to her senses. She paid the driver and stepped out. Luckily she found few shops nearby selling clothes.

Inaya walked in and brought few cheap tops and couple of pants, trousers, and a Jean. She also got some undergarments and a shoe. She got a backpack, packed it all, paid the amount and walked into the bus stop. She decided to head to the city far away from this town.

Within half an hour, Inaya boarded the bus to live a better life. She still wasn't aware of her magical powers. It kept getting stronger and stronger.

Sitting for too long began to ache her abdomen and hips again. The bleeding had stopped, but the pain was unbearable. Inaya kept sweating and looked so pale. She got herself some fruits and some buns. It wasn't enough for her body.

There was 12 hours of journey left to reach the S city. Inaya decided to get some sleep.

There wad no one sitting next to her so she was able to lie down properly though curled up.

The bus passed through the mountains, plains, and rivers, and everything had a lively appearance. They spread the joy to those who enjoyed and observed nature. Inaya considered it to be the new hope. Her question was still unanswered though. "How did I reach this place, by falling into the river?"

Inaya after getting some sleep, sat watching outside the window, sipping a carton of pomegranate juice which she learned is healthy. She calculated the money she had and the money in card which belonged to Mia where money gets deposited by the old man every week to keep Mia under control. Inaya decides to use it till she gets a new job.

Inaya takes a deep breath. 'I hope the changes are in my favour. Let me stand on my own feet, and live well, dear god,' she prayed. Because she did not know what else to ask for.

Inaya the next day, around evening, stepped out of the bus. It looked like it's about to rain. "Hey, can you tell me where I can find a rest room?" Inaya asked a young lady about to get into a cab.

"Find a sauna, it's safer," the lady suggested and left.

"Sauna? What's a Sauna? Where is that?" She asked herself but a little loudly.

"Looking for the Sauna? Cross the road and take left, you will find an orange board written Sauna, walk in, register yourself, and you may use it." An old man guided her. Inaya felt happy to see good people and not the rich old men who do nothing but abuse substances and people.

"Thank you, thank you so much ajhusshi," Inaya said and waited to cross the road.
