Chapter 3: Relief from a Burden

『Aiden's POV』

I immersed myself in this exercise while enjoying my father's company. "First sit on the ground in a comfortable position. Then you concentrate on your breathing and take deep breaths with your nose until your lungs feel full. Afterward you breathe as slow as you can with your mouth out." He said and waited until I could do this subconsciously.

Almost 20 minutes later, he gave me a new instruction.

"Now you continue but focus on your senses. Try to feel the wind on your skin, to smell all the different fragrances of nature, to hear everything in your surroundings. Forget tasting because smelling is tasting in a sense." he said with a calming tone. 'This is a fun exercise, but I wonder if there is more to it. As calming me shouldn't be such a hassle.' I thought while meditating.

"Seeing will be the hardest to do while multi-tasking your other senses, we will get there eventually. We are going to do this every day, half an hour long. But don't exercise without my permission." He warns me, he reasoned that I shouldn't try to be higher than I am supposed to be. "The goal is you, being able to focus on nothing but just doing. Don't fear failure as it is already hard to focus on more than one sense while breathing accordingly." He smiled at me.

We walked back to our new house, it's modest since we don't plan on gaining attention or spending too much money.

"Boy, you need to join school soon." He suddenly told me. 'Una mentioned it to me once on my 4th Birthday. She said, that I need social interactions as well as general experience about life. Probably she feels responsible based on, me mostly sticking with her at home. "Yeah, you are right. I do need to join a school asap. I don't make much use of my free time, other than learning something about tailoring, some basic knowledge, or I just listened to some stories." I told him honestly, with the hope that he will teach me new things and to find new hobbies. His response was just a wide-eyed face, he didn't answer as we were already on the doorstep.

After our little conversation, we ate potato soup with bread and some meat together. "Thank you, Alex, for bringing us meat. It's too expensive currently and you hunting for us spares us a lot of time and money." Una said, with a big smile. I glanced at our plates and noticed that I got the most meat. She must have been thinking, that I didn't get enough meat these weeks and her knowing dad must mean we will soon be able to do light exercise, thanks to both her and in the end also dad.

After eating all of us, did some stretching and started jogging at a tempo, which was appropriate for a six- years old child, with no endurance training whatsoever.
