"There is a whole series for you, Amelia, even though it's much about the boy who lived, you are basically a side character with Susan," Aster said to her and forwarded the movies.
[Aster sent a movie set.]
"Have you watched them?" Amelia asked.
"Nope, but we can do it together after we pay a little visit to the Ministry." Aster smiled.
"Alright, but I can't go to the Ministry in these robes, they don't fit me anymore and I don't think I have something that will fit me right now." Amelia sighed.
"No sweat." Aster smiled and waved his hands and her robes changed into a beautiful outfit with a high neck sweater and blazers with trousers and an overcoat to finish with the heels. [pic here.]
Amelia looked no worse than a princess right now and Aster formed a pane of ice to let her use it as a mirror only to get a squeal of surprise from her as she did a turn to how the dress looked.
"They are gorgeous Aster, you really have great taste in fashion." Amelia praised as she fixed her hair in front of the ice mirror.
"Thank the Supernet for that, and besides they say that the feathers make the man and they did say that right." Aster nodded in satisfaction with his handiwork before switching his own outfit to match hers. [pic here.]
"Now let's leave for the ministry, and Aster, I know this is your first time doing an apparition, I will try and make it as comfortable as I can. Hold my hand and close your eyes." Amelia said as she extended her hand.
They vanished from there with a pop and Aster found himself inside a dark building with not-so-good lighting, that made the place look damp and gloomy. Seeing them enter through the VIP entrance many eyes followed them as they walked over to the inspection point.
"Name and purpose." the gruff guard spoke with a scrutinizing gaze on them both.
"Amelia Bones and yes I had a makeover, now return to your duties, Darwin." Amelia spoke with her no nonsense voice.
"Boss, is that really you? You look young, are you her daughter, well you look alike but wait, boss does not have a daughter. Who are you?" he drew his wand and pointed it at us and the other guard also followed suit.
"Darwin Brown, put your wand down this instance if you don't want me to post you at Azkaban for a year, and you too Wilson," Amelia growled.
"Yes, Boss!" They saluted. They could recognize that tone of voice and that strictness even if they go blind, there is no one other than 'her' who commands such mettle among the Auror force.
"This is Aster, he is my secretary. Remember his face and don't trouble him unless you love the cold." Amelia said as they walked towards the DMLE office.
Amelia opened the door to reveal a row of tables with wizards and witches toiling away with paperwork. Rufus Scrimgeour and Kingsley Shacklebolt manage the desk and field operatives respectively. Seeing them enter Shacklebolt, Scrimgeour, and others who had known Amelia from her younger years were shocked to an extent that the room filled with scribbling and stamping sounds fell silent as a grave.
"Attention everyone, like the half of you, have already guessed, I am Amelia Bones, despite the makeover and this is Aster Frost, my secretary. I strongly recommend that you don't annoy him no matter what family name or position you have unless you wish to be frozen into an ice cube." Amelia paused and waited to see the response.
Seeing that they were waiting for her to speak, she was pleased with the discipline of her department and continued, "good, now introduce yourself."
"Good evening ladies and gentlemen, my name is Aster Frost, the Lord of the Frozen Lands and Amelia's new secretary. Her makeover was my doing and I will not do it for any of you, me being here is because I want to be here and if any of you think you can handle me, remember that I can freeze your country three times over before Albus could say lemon drop. Hope we have a pleasant time together, savvy?" Aster said with a kind smile.
The whole DMLE was in turmoil, they had heard about the castle of ice and the frozen lands. But seeing the man behind that standing before them, they shuddered as his words echoed through their heads. A person on the level of or above Albus Dumbledore, the greatest wizard alive was no joke, and no matter his background, he was to be respected and feared.
But there was one thing that gave them the courage to stand in the same room as him, it was their boos who had gotten a makeover that was getting attention from both wizards and witches alike. They knew that Amelia Bones would not let them suffer injustice and keep him in check since he is working under her.
"Alright everyone get back to your posts, Scrimhgeour and Shacklebolt in my office," Amelia ordered the audience to disperse and get back to their jobs.
In Amelia's Office:
The two stalwart men stood before the table of their boss who had went back to her days of youth and beauty, she sat there in her chair and Aster was looking around her office. He used his powers to push aside the piles of paperwork and made a desk and chair for him and started gathering all of the paperwork in neat stacks beside his desk and started skimming through them.
The men were impressed by such a beautiful display of magic and were looking at him sort through the files. He was fast and efficient but the scowl on his face grew more and more till he looked at the two of them and Amelia before sighing.
"This is atrocious, things need to change in here. Kingsley, you in charge of the desk officers?" Aster asked. The man did not have words to speak and he could only manage a stiff nod.
"Good, bring me 10 desk officers, 3 rookies, and 3 with a minimum of 5 years of proper service with a good track record, then I want four senior officers that have a minimum of a decade in service and are responsible for higher posts. Get me the men in three minutes, run." Aster said with a frigid voice as his ice-blue eyes glowed in a warning.
"You Rufus, right?" Aster asked the man with a lion-like visage.
"Good, bring me the fieldwork budget records along with the one tasked with managing them along with the training budget and the Instructor in charge. You have six minutes to run." Aster ordered in his same icy voice.
Amelia looked on with interest as she wanted to see what Aster could accomplish and if it could set them right, he might as well be doing an enormous favor to her.
"Amelia, your department is a mess and we sort it tonight before the office hours end to start with a fresh setup tomorrow and have no time wasted.
Kingsley returned with 10 officers in tow and closed the door behind him to stand beside Amelia, his back straight as a spear.
"Good, now sort yourselves into pairs of a rookie and an experienced officer and the four seniors stand aside," Aster commanded and the officers scuttled around and settled down by his requirements.
"Now I want you pairs to work at sorting and labeling the files that come in into Grade 1,2,3, and 4. Grade 1 for household issues or petty crimes, grade 2 for bar fights, scruffles and other things similar, grade 3 for low profile crimes such as rape, arson or homicide and grade 4 for the high profile cases. Your job is to just that and the rookies will be mentored by the experienced staff pair yourselves accordingly."
"For the seniors, I want you to take a file and deal with them according to the book, no matter what happens, unless some bigoted law comes up that needs to be changed. If the later happens address Kingsley ASAP and if something comes in that is above your paygrade, label that red and send it to me. You four will work as a committee and make a weekly report of your work and send it to my table each Monday."
"Now, let me tell you something, if you guys fail to meet my expectations, you will be punished in accordance and if you dare misuse your position and power, remember that nothing can save your sorry little butts."
"Kingsley, I want the officers here to stay anonymous and under oaths and gag orders to maintain secrecy and security of both their families and of themselves. This system does not leave the room and no one can know that the workings of the DMLE have changed. I want you guys in the room next to this one, placed under a fidelius and other safety charms you can get."
"Am I understood?" Aster finished ordering.
"Yes sir." came a unified response with staunch salutes.
"Now leave with Kingsley and get your oaths sorted. If you find Rufus outside, send him in and Kingsley, return after you are finished dealing with them, and remember the oath needs to be airtight, get a goblin if you want help and obliviate him afterward." Aster ordered.
Kingsley and his encourage left the room and Rufus and a pair of old witches came in. All three of them sweating despite the cold of December.
"Don't tell me that it's that bad? Rufus, tell me that it is not bad as it looks from your faces." Aster asked the man who was visibly sweating and shifting.
