Winter Leaf

The Winter Leaf is a three-day event in which any unclaimed Omega is to take place in, whether they like it or not. Tradition states that each Alpha without an Omega must also take part in. For the first day each Alpha and Omega are to meet. No fighting is to commence at this time; it is simply a meet-and-greet. Alphas usually tend to pick out Omegas that they like during this first day. The second day is the day of claiming. It is known as the "Fight or Flight" day where Alphas will battle to be the first to claim their chosen Omega. The third and final day of the Winter Leaf is the day where the claimed Omegas will say goodbye to their friends and family as they are moving to live with their Alpha. George happens to be one of the very rare male Omegas. No one has heard nor seen a male Omega for over two years, making him quite the prize. Despite this newfound attention, George wants nothing to do with the event, leading him to have mixed feelings about it. Dream is the son of the strongest Alpha ever known to have competed in the Winter Leaf tournament. Because of his legacy, his father expects the best- and only the best, nothing less of it. Dream's father wants him to grow up to become as strong as he is to carry on their legacy. He has no choice but to fight for the rare male Omega, or who knows what his father will do?

George's POV

"No, I'm not going!" I looked at my mother, angrily. A small twinge of fear sat with the anger.

"Yes, you are! They will drag you out of this building if you don't go, you know that."

I didn't care, I wasn't going.

Period.

I glared at my mother, then turned to walk away.

"You can't just walk away from me!" She gave me a look of anger.

I smirked at her.

"Just did!" I knew there was no chance of denying what was to come, I knew they would drag me to the Winter Leaf by my ear. Yet I wouldn't go down with a fight.

"I'm not going," I grumbled in a whisper. It wasn't long until the event. I wanted to ignore it as best as possible.

I'm not going, they can't make me.

No matter how many times I told myself that, it didn't change the fact that I would indeed go to the Winter Leaf. I wanted this to go away, can it just go away?

Maybe if I ran?

What am I saying? I can't just run away. No matter where I go, they will find me.

I hate being locked in this damn house. My mother always said "It's not safe, George."

I don't care, I can take care of myself. My mother always gave me stupid excuses like: "You'll be attacked!" and, "You'll get claimed!" and also, "You'll get mated as soon as you walk out the door!" but what my mom never understood was that I'm not afraid of some stuck-up Alpha.

I was startled out of my thoughts from my phone ringing. I picked up the phone.

"Your mother is still not letting you leave?"

"Yeah. You know how she is." I sighed.

Xaffo is a Beta- he has nothing to worry about like going out in public. Xaffo doesn't really understand because as far as he's concerned I'm a Beta too. Secrets I care not to tell anyone.

I knew he would find out as soon as the Winter Leaf came. All the Betas come for the entertainment, not to take place in the event. More reasons for why I fear the Winter Leaf. I just wanted a break, a moment to just breathe, not have to worry about everything.

"Maybe if she won't let you leave, I could come to you?" I knew he wanted to come over, but he just couldn't.

"Uh, no. My mother won't let anyone come over, either." I hated lying to him but it's the only way of keeping my secret. I could hear the disappointment in his voice.

What a good friend I am...

"Can we just talk?"

He sighed. Reluctantly, he agreed. I was right to do it; soon I was laughing with my friends, not giving a care in the world about the event which would ruin my life forever.

Why couldn't I just be like Xaffo? All of the males are always Betas or Alphas, never Omegas. Why can't I be like the rest? Why does it have to be me? What will all my friends think of me once they find out? Will they even like me anymore?

~Clay's P.O.V~

I huffed smoke as I slid around the corner. Charlie glared at me for a split second before I lunged in front.

"Slow down!"

I let out a smirk and huff, good luck catching me now. Sadly, being behind me is never a good choice and the faster I ran the more snow I kicked up.

I slid into a sharp stop making Charlie bump into me. "Wha-?" He glared at my father before me.

"What do you want?" I growled.

"Is this really what you're doing the day before the Winter Leaf?"

I shook my coat.

"Why do you care?"

"Because how you do reflects on me!" He rolled his eyes and growled with anger.

Charlie gave me a glance before standing up on shaky legs. "I think uh, I should go... Uh, see you at the Winter Leaf." He quickly ran off to avoid having to deal with my father, leaving me to fend for myself.

"I'll do fine," I growled angrily.

He approached me, making me back up. "You'd better." Taking that as an answer, he turned and sprinted away.

I sat back down, sighing. Is every father of an Alpha like mine? I know Charlie's isn't, it's unfair. I sat up sprinting in the same direction that my father ran in.

By the time I made it home I was panting loudly. I changed before walking in to my father talking to my mother at the table.

I was about to go to my room when my name was shouted by my father. "Clay, come here," he barked. Sighing, I turned around to go to the table, sitting down next to my mother.

"What do you want?"

My father glared at me. To him I was being very disrespectful. "There is a new Omega this year..."

I let out a stiff laugh. "There's always a new Omega."

He shook his head, "Not like this one."

I glared at my mother, then back at him. "What do you mean?"

"It's a male Omega."

My mouth dropped, I know how rare male Omegas are. "Are you- are you serious?" I glared at my father.

"You know I don't lie..."

"But I..." I was stopped in my tracks.

"You need to claim him."

My eyes widened, "Father-? Everyone will be trying to claim him."

He slammed his fist on the table, standing up sharply. "I know! We have trained you long and hard and this will be the only one for years!"

I shook my head. He looked at me sternly. "You are going to claim this Omega or else. I won't let you ruin our reputation with your tail between your legs!"

I knew he wasn't going to take 'no' as an answer. If my father wants something, he gets it. It looked like this Winter Leaf may be more dangerous than I thought...

Ya'll smell ;)
