Chapter 74

Naerin had been waiting for two days when there was a knock at his door. He threw it open and almost throttled Pryderin as worried anger stormed up his throat. The only reason he didn’t was because the ancient dragon was holding the limp, unconscious form of Siana in his arms. He then had to contain the urge to rip her from Pryderin’s arms and close the door in the other man’s face.

Pryderin just faced his anger with aplomb, a fierce satisfaction on his face. “She is ready to take the circles. Let her sleep.”

“You did not need to push her so severely.” Naerin took Siana, cradling her against him. “If she becomes unwell then-“

Pryderin held up his hands, forestalling Naerin’s words. “It was her idea and I pushed her as hard as was needed.”

“I will care for her.” Naerin turned from the dragon and shut the door in his face before looking down at the woman in his arms. “What have you done to yourself, my Siana?”
