Chapter 72

Siana woke up in Naerin’s arms, which was fast becoming her favorite place to wake up. The problem was that it was still dark. She didn’t know if it was late or early, just that she didn’t need to be awake yet. She tried to go back to sleep, but there was something wrong. Something was deeply and desperately wrong somewhere, but she couldn’t pinpoint it or figure out where it was coming from. She pulled slowly away from Naerin and sat up, trying to follow where the feeling was coming from.

It was a thin thread of wrong, but it felt like screaming inside her head. Almost a keen, like someone or something in pain. Siana looked around the cabin like the darkness would have the answers to what was happening. Naerin clearly didn’t feel it which meant it was linked to her abilities either as the Balance or as a healer. She had no idea how to discover which was which. Maybe she could try and figure it out?
