A Far Trade

I woke up after who knows how long with a great deal of effort and pain I managed to sit up. Looking around I found the icewing peacefully sleeping ' well at least one of us seems to be having good dreams. ' I mumbled to my self before slowly standing up and making my way to where I left the book of destiny so I could speak to Fatebreaker. After limping my way over to the book I collapsed from the pain and with shaking talons I opened the book that began to write words which I thought were filled with concern. " What happened to you I'd like a fully detailed explanation on both why you brought a random dragon here and how you got those injuries." " Haha ok I'll start from the beginning of... How long have I been asleep sense I returned." I nervously asked " it's only been about a day now start taking." Fatebreaker repeated in more bold letters, after letting out a sigh I retold the events of yesterday.

" Hmm I do hope you understand how reckless your actions were you may not die because your one of the Dragonets but that doesn't mean you can't be prominently crippled and be useless too the others." Fatebreaker wrote after a few minutes I took a deep breath before speaking " ya I understand but I just couldn't watch as another dragon gets killed even if there a stranger but I am sorry for putting myself at risk and will think more before doing something like that again." After I finished apologizing more words began to appear " As long as you this endeavor to grow more than I don't have much issue just don't make it a common thing but if you bond with me than you wouldn't need to worry about Fighting even large groups of dragons without much issue." " I don't think I'm ready yet but maybe soon." I replied before closing the book and putting it under a rock making impossible to see in the dark cave. I then walked towards the still sleeping icewing to check on there wounds after I finished tending to them I the cave to get us both some food.

After a few hours I'd to catch a couple of deer, and a moose not bad considering my injury. Returning to the cave I heard some movement and stopped listening more closely I figured it was the icewing do to only hearing one dragon and the grunts of pain coming from them. ' Now how do I approach them with getting turned into a snow sculpture.' after a few moments of thinking to my self I decided it would be best if I made my presence know. " Hey I'm the one who saved you from the skywings and I'm coming in with food so I'd appreciate it if you don't turn me into a Statue when I enter." I called out after a minute of silence I was about to repeat until I heard a pained voice respond " you can come in but try anything and I'll make you regret it." ' well she's more polite than I expected.' I mumbled to my self before continuing into the cave slowly making my way to the main chamber. As I walked in I noticed that the icewing had managed to stand up into a defensive stance before I could continue forward they hissed. " Stay right there who are you and why did you save me from your tribe?" I thought for a moment on what I could say to calm them down before replying " For your second question I'm not really welcome in the tribe and I can't just watch a dragon die even if I don't know them as for who I am that's a bit complicated." I paused a moment thinking about what to say next " What do you mean complicated I can tell your a skywing so what are you talking about." The icewing hissed " Calm down it's because I'm a hybrid of skywing and icewing or an abomination as I've been told and just so you believe me look at me closely." I answered while showering off my talons and tail which resulted in the icewing gasping in shock before speaking. " You are a hybrid how did that even happen we're in the middle of a war, but I guess that does explain why you saved me, sigh I'm sorry for my earlier aggression it's just hard to trust dragon outside your tribe these days." The icewing visible relaxed which confused me greatly which much have shown on my face because they began to explain in a more friendly tone. " I see your confused so I'll explain the fact that your a hybrid means that your hated by the skywings because they care a lot about being pure blooded, it's honestly surprising your mother cared about you enough to Abaddon you here instead of killing you makes you very lucky." " And your ok with me being a hybrid." I asked ignoring the compliment to Cinder " well the skywings are the most prejudice against hybrid's while the other tribes look down or pitty them we icewing's are the only tribe that treat hybrid well from what I know haven't met a rainwing to know there opinion." After answering my question they laid back down on stone floor while thought on what she said ' I really should've learned about that from these past four years instead of just assuming things but I can't be blamed for wanting to learn about the past of PYRRHIA.' " So what would you like to eat deer or moose."

After we had finish eating we spent the next few hours talking with each other I learned her name was Snowfall and that she had become an icewing soldier a few months ago. I also learned about some of the current events that were going on but there was one thing I really wanted to know. " Do you have any idea on where the dragonets of destiny are and who they've sided with I'd would really appreciate it if you could tell me." I asked in a slightly desperate tone " That's a weird question to just bring up but no I don't in fact no one knows where they are and that's not for a lack of trying now why do you want to know so badly." Snowfall answer while giving me a weird look " well I was born on the brightest night like them and..." " You were what your one the dragonets now it makes even more sense why you were left here if that's the case." Snowfall interrupted while looking at me in astonishment " Now wait a minute we don't know that for sure I can't be the only skywing born on the brightest night there could be few others." I said trying to deflect the the suspicion away from me " that's the thing queen Scarlet had all the eggs that were meant to hatch on that night destroyed which makes you the only surviving dragonets Born on the brightest night you are a one of the Dragonets of destiny." Snowfall countered completely destroying my only argument but that didn't matter as I was to horrified by the discovery of all the other skywings hatch the same night were dead. ' But why would she do that they were just defenseless dragon's that didn't do anything wrong so what if they could have been a dragonet of destiny that's no reason to slaughter them.' my thoughts raged trying to understand why but before I could ask I heard multiple thuds by the main entrance causing both of us to become alert. " I know another way out of this cave but we need to go now." I said in a hushed voice elicitating a nod form Snowfall as we made are way down a side tunnel however as we saw the light from the exit. There were three skywing blocking are way but before they notice us I changed at them and grabbed two of them by there necks and slamming them into the cave wall while Snowfall tacked the third. Using my grip the two disoriented dragons I smashed there head's together knocking both them out. As I about to turn and help Snowfall another skywing had jumped on my back and tour into my already injured wing causing me to yelp in pain. I then slammed my back into the wall getting the skywing off me I then turned and grabbed and threw them at the oncoming group of dragons coming from the main entrance of the cave. " Frost come on we need to go." Snowfall called before gasping in horror from the site of my mangled wing I could tell form just a glance I wouldn't be able to fly anymore so I looked toured Snowfall. " You go while I hold them off and if you come across the dragonets you mind helping them out that should be a fair trade." I shouted with a smirk before turning back to the skywings. " I am Frost of the skywings son Cinder and won of the Dragonets of destiny if you think you can kill me then bring it on." Roared before charging into them with a endless fury I attack every dragon I could get my claws on I even saw fear on some of their faces before everything faded to dark.
