True emotions deep within

Marlo woke to the sound of the loud knocking on his door, "King Marlo!" the voice of Darkin called for him. Marlo looked around for a bit, Inshal was sound asleep in his arms, her breathing smooth and calm, her wings wrapped around her and for a split second Marlo missed his feathered wings. That was the first he has ever missed being an angel, he never regretted betraying his brother and the second council... he never thought about it much before. "Marlo!?" Darkin snapped him out of his thoughts.

"One minute!" he called, carefully moving Inshal aside to not wake her up.

Marlo left the room, opend the front door of his living space. Darkin had an unpleased look, "so I get told that you are not planning to head back" he started and Marlo knows from that, that he won't hear the end of it. "When the elfs know about the egg and has already attempted an attack" he continued.

"So what do you want me to do?" Marlo asked with a challenging tone, "head back, like one they'll stop, they're elfs for f-ck sake".

"Actually act like you care" he suggested, "maby get Xzaviar free".

"I'm pretty sure Xzaviar will get himself out" Marlo flicked his tail.

"No" Darkin shook his head with a frown, "I scouted out myself, that place it looked up tighter then your dungens".

"Fine I'll send an extra command over" Marlo gave in, "Inshal is in no shape to head back, not after they used that horrible spell on her".

"They used it on Inshal" Darkin snarled and a soldier who was standing on the corner fled.

"Yes now let her rest" Marlo snapped "we'll be back in a few days".

"So you expect me to return and leave my daughter unguarded?" Darkin challenged.

"She has me to protect her" Marlo felt afended that he considered her unguarded with his presents.

"You can't be with her every second of the day" Darkin mentioned.

"Nor can you" Marlo shot back at him, "look she's fine but we can't baby her, no demon will respect her".

"I don't want to baby her" Darkin sighed, "but I better see you at the camp in at least 3 days".

"Alright, I get it" Marlo dismissed himself and went back into his living space.

Walking into his bedroom, he saw Inshal snuggled up in the blanket, his heart has never been so warm and heavy before. Marlo gently picked her up to snuggle into up and sleep but only ended up waking her. "Morning" Inshals soft voice made a smile form across his face.

"Good morning" he pat her head, "sleep well?" he asked.

"Yeah" she nodded calmly, "what time is it?" she asked looking around.

"Probably around 9 at night" he shrugged. Inshal nuzzled her nose into his chest and he had to hold back a giggle as his chest is the most trickish spot, but he couldn't hold it back when she kissed his neck. "What?" Inshal asked in a tiered voice.

"It just tickled" he grind, still surprised how he doesn't get a boner every time she touches him.

"You know we still have time together if you're in the mood" Marlo licked her ear and she shook her head the way a dog does.

"No" she rested her head on his chest, "I just woke up" she yawned.

"Alright" he pet her head but a disappointed feeling flooded over him; it's not that he wanted sex he just doesn't truly know how to show his love to her. He remembers the first time he found out of her existence, the arora changed completely in the earth and it confused thousands of demons but he knows exactly what it was. First he felt fury- a hybrid!- something that isn't twisted but not pure it's disgraceful; but when Darkin confessed on his knees admitting his sins Marlo had to forgive him. 'I guess that's my best example that an angel is still in me' a wired feeling twisted inside his stomach and tightened his grip. "Ow, ow please let go" Inshal clawed at him.

"Sorry" Marlo let go immediately, "I was just thinking" he sighed.

"What?" she asked tilting her head, "something wrong?".

"No, no just old memories" he dismissed her worries and kissed her.

"You know that you can tell me, right?" Inshal nuzzled his neck.

"Yes but you have nothing to worry about" Marlo sat up, "let's get that meal" he suggested.

"Alright, sure" Inshal got up and her body moved flawlessly, Marlo couldn't help but admire. Marlo showed her the way to the dining room, it was almost as large as the throne room. Looking over at Inshal who had an impressed expression, he felt pride in his home that he is now able to share with her.

"Dafeny get the table set" he ordered one of the cooks who bowed and went of to get things organised.

"So do you just know every demons names?" Inshal asked with a chuckle.

"Yes" he nodded, "after all how else do I everything done?" he joked and pulled her close to his side, he likes the way she just allows him to move her around.

"Fair enough" she stood up a little taller, "so what is for dinner?".

"A spicy dish" Marlo shrugged and moved to the room next to the dinning room, "we're definitely gonna have a lot of guests joining".

"Who?" Inshal asked as they sat on the couch.

"Most likely your kin, a few nobals and some of the generals" he listed, every time he gets a new queen every nobal always wants to meet her or get on her good side.

"You know I haven't really thought of meeting my kin" Inshal said and Marlo felt a shock.

"You haven't?" he echoed, a demons kin is the worth the universe.

"No" she shook her head, "I haven't really thought about it, I've always had father".

"But you didn't want to meet your grandparents? ants and uncles? cousins?" he couldn't wrap it around his head, why wouldn't she wander about her kin. Even angels care about their kin.

"No" she replied, "but I would like to meet them I just didn't think about it before, honestly I'm surprised I don't have siblings".

"Darkin? having a wife and family? you are the only kid he'll ever have" Marlo joked, but inside he knows that Darkin doesn't want to settle down and have a big family like all of his other siblings.

"Oh" Inshal leaned into him and Marlo felt his heat warming up again, "so how many cousin do I have? do you know?" Inshal asked, Marlo had to think a little.

"Around 20 to 25 if I'm correct" Marlo answered, fiddling with the feathers on her wings.

"So demons are rabbits when it comes to breeding?" Inshal joked and Marlo gave an unamused look.

"No" he said coldly, "some families are bigger then others" he explained and she shrugged.

"King Marlo" Dafeny called for, "the table is set we are just waiting for everyone to get seated so we can serve the meal" she bowed.

"Good, tell everyone that they can sit at their seat" Marlo stretched and allowed Inshal to walk freely.

Marlo walked into the room with all the tables being filled but two seats, more fancy with dark jewls, was left untouched. "Here" Marlo pulled out the seat, "this is your one" he saw the mesmerised look in Inshals eyes and pride feeled his head. Marlo sat on his own seat and saw that Darkin and his family, sat infront of their seat. He can always tell if a demon is one of Darkins kin when they are a deep red with black stripes... now that he thinks about it, why doesn't Inshal have those patterns?. She is a dark grey with her wings even darker, no sines of any deep red, it can't be apart of her mothers side as angels have pure white wings. Inshals halo is also an obsidian black like her short and slightly curved horns. The cooks came in and gave everyone a plate but Inshals and Marlos were noticeable larger and the generals had the better pickings then the nobals.

The cooks left then came back with wines and shanpain, each one equal no mater the status. "For our new queen!" one of the nobals called pit and all the demons cheered, Marlo smiled by how well they were all taking it.

"Is that a hybrid!" hissed a young demon, Marlo dead stared him but before he could silence him Darkin slammed his nife into the table making everyone jump.

"Do you have a problem with my blood!" Darkin snarled and the young demon was dragged into the open.

"Wait no- I didn't mean to- please I didn't mean it" he paniced, Darkins eyes may be glowing with the look of hatred he has.

"Then what did you mean!" Inshal hissed and it was as cold as Darkins snarle.

"I..." the young demon started shivering the way a chihuahua does when it sees a larger dog.

"Well!" she gritted her teeth and glared with her eyes growling.

"I'm sorry your majesty" he begged on his knees.

"Gards take him!" Marlo ordered, a gard who held one of the spears and jabbed him until he moved.

"Not what I thought my first meal here will be like" Inshal sounded hurt by this.

"Don't worry they will respect you" Marlo whispered a promised to her.

"Hmm" Inshal looked as if in her own thoughts, thinking deeply.

"You should eat" Marlo suggested, she looked at it and smiled to herself. Inshal took a bite and the look of suprise and aw filled her face.

"This is good" she commented. The meal went like any other meal: everyone catching up with each other, some of the less strong nobals trying to get on Inshal's/ new queen's good side with gifts and sweet words but a couple got a bit too comfortable for Marlos comfort.

They finished the meal like any normal night, "you want to go back to bed?" Marlo asked as he felt a little tired as the cold still has an affect.

"Sure" Inshal relaxed herself, "those guys seemed sweet" she grind and gave him a side look.

"What?" Marlo felt jealousy stab his heart and he snarled.

"I don't know just that they seemed kinda sweet on me" she shrugged and her grin grew.

"Are you teasing?" Marlo asked baring the large thangs he grew when his feathered wings turned to scales.

"Of course I am" Inshal faked punched his shoulder, "you get jealous easily" she remarked.

"You should be careful" Marlo spoke coldly, "you would get many soles killed if you continue" he warned.

"Can you take a joke?" Inshal asked him with a sigh, heading back to their room.
