His Father's Death

Ruby continued clearing the dry leaves. She didn't answer Blake's question.

"Grandma…" Blake called, asking for her response.

"I don't think you need my blessing." Ruby's answer showed she was hurt by Blake's words the other day. "You can get married or survive without any ounce of my blessing Blake." She stood up with difficulties.

Blake heaved a loud sighed. He  regretted his words to his grandmother before. "I'm so sorry…"

"You are not wrong. I did cross the line." Ruby turned and headed towards him. "But Blake, you know right, I did everything for your sake." She tapped on his arm and walked past him.

"Grandma please…" He walked fast to block Ruby from leaving. "Please, I really need your help this time."

"Always be by her side and don't worry. I will help you with that matter." Ruby rubbed his arm and walked away without turning back to Blake.
