Will there be a happy ending?

Hidayah Loh is the heiress of the ARK Empire and next in line to be the Matriarch of Country C’s strongest founding family. Basically a royal of Country C. On her business trip in City K of Country M, she was nearly raped by a stranger when Nazreen rescued her. Nazreen, a prince from Country E was on holiday and happened to hear a struggled plea for help from the adjacent hotel room when he was returning back to his room. But to their dismay, City K’s Islamic Religious Department happened to be in the middle of carrying their night raids in that hotel. Both Hidayah and Nazreen was brought to the station and to avoid imprisonment and other negative implications that may affect their reputation, they were forced to marry that very night. Not keen on keeping the marriage to a total stranger, despite him being her rescuer, Hidayah returned to Country C quietly the next day. Leaving Nazreen with a signed post-dated divorce document at the hotel reception. After being forced to marry the woman he saved, he tasked his men to investigate Hidayah. Unfortunately, the next morning, he found that Hidayah had checked out from the hotel and had left him with a divorce agreement. What is he to do? Should he just process the divorce as per Hidayah’s request? Or should he find her to ‘save’ their ‘unexpected’ marriage? ********************************* Author’s note (A/N): The story is written with people from different ethnic, cultural and religious beliefs. Starlight

"What's your plan now?" Daniel spoke while pouring himself a drink. Daniel and the twins grew up together. They have been friends since the age of eight; meeting for the first time on the first day of boarding school. In actual fact, Daniel thought Hidayah was a boy when they first met… hanging upside down on a tree branch with a closed fist and a cheeky grin on her face.

"Nothing… Let them be. We can only prepare and wait for them to strike." Hidayat responded insouciantly, with a glass of Punt e Mas on his right hand and a cigarette on his left.

"I have already started with procuring the shares from some of the minor holders. By end of this month, hopefully, I would have control of at least 10% of the shares making me as one of the major holders and have voting power," Hidayah added to the conversation.

On a lovely night, a grim air lingers in the room while the faces on the group were callous. All six of them fell silent with Hidayah's announcement. It seems the battle had already proceeded without their knowledge.

Sitting opposite of Hidayah, Erika with her jet-black hair bundled up into a loose bun resting on the nape of her back suddenly shifted her posture up straight. "What did your dad say about this? Is there anything else we can do? I do agree that having voting power in Starlight Corporation is good but it is not strong enough for us to grasp the reign of the company."

Hidayat gave the group a smirk, "Neh, dad has no plan to interfere with our plans at the moment. I quote 'this is your time to make your mark. I have no plans to interfere or lead'" Hidayah's lips quivered slightly when she was recalling the night when their dad gave them a talk on the eve of their 21st birthday. This man may be a loving old fashion parent, but with his modernised way of thinking when it comes to business and education, he brought up his children to be an independent person at a young age.

"Well, it's for the best. It is time for the new generation to take over now. Our parents are to be our guide. Not the leader," Hidayah commented before standing up to reach for the Moscato on the bar counter on the left side of the room. "Furthermore, Starlight has a good foundation for us to venture out into the entertainment industry. They have a good pool of talent and the resources we need to make it better. But…" she sneered… "that old man… he just doesn't want to let go… even with the declining state of the company. Why is it so hard for him to let go?!" in anger, she threw the half-filled glass of Moscato against the counter and it shattered into pieces.

Oh boy… there she goes… and she is not even drunk… "You know what, Hidayah… you should sign up for anger management class… If you're gonna remain like this, you will never get a husband," Hidayat stood up and moved towards the door. "Guys, I'm gonna head to bed first, I'll see you all tomorrow in the office," and he walked off.
