You're unworthy

When the whole fiasco with the introductions was over, Frederick allowed the students to look around the campus.

"Also there's no need to come back to the classroom, once the clock turns twelve you can leave." After saying what he needed to say Frederick dismissed the students and left. The moment Frederick was out of sight one of the students headed towards Sigmund. At the same time, another student was heading towards Aki.

Yuuki and Mirai who saw the incoming student could already guess what he was going to do. Yuuki couldn't help but shrug his shoulders, while Mirai was unconcerned.

The student that approached was a boy with a scowl on his face, his body wasn't large nor was it small. Aside from his scary-looking face, his overall presence seems normal compared to the other people in the classroom.

"The failure of the Resteti family, you don't belong here. You should quit now when you haven't embarrassed yourself too much." Sigmund didn't even bother to respond to the student and was about to leave with Yuuki and Mirai, but then the student once again blocked his path.

"Don't you dare ignore me!" The student roared at Sigmund who was now looking at him with ridicule. The failure of the Resteti family, the one who wasn't even able to evolve properly was looking down on him. This didn't sit well with the boy and was about to say more, but then Sigmund interrupted him.

"Lester Bowman, age sixteen years old and four months. Ability user, Pyrokinetic. Grades from pre-school to middle school has been slightly above average. Physical ability is average. Has been described by friends and teachers as a hothead. Once joined a school gang in middle school, and became its leader in his second year in middle school. Weapon of choice: none. Overall assessment: Not a threat."

Sigmund had more information about Lester, but he just told Lester a bit of what he knew. Before entering this school, Sigmund asked a favor from one of his father's old students, Kei Kaido. The favor was to find out everything Kei could about the students and teachers that were attending Chromer.

As expected from the member of the mercenary club that was famed for his information gathering. He was able to gain a lot of information within such a short time frame.

Lester was shocked by how much Sigmund knew about him. He was irritated by the fact that Sigmund had him investigated. But what angered him the most was the fact Sigmund's overall assessment of him was that he wasn't a threat.

"I'm not a threat? Really, then if I"m not a threat then you wouldn't mind challenging me."

"What rank are you?" Sigmund didn't really need to fight this fool, but if he doesn't Lester would probably not stop bothering him.

"Why should it matter? You most probably either dead last in this class or second to the last."

Sigmund sighed as he raised his battle pad. "I challenge you to a battle." Both Lester's and Sigmund's battle pad started ringing and both of them received a message.

'Unapproved, challenger is of a higher rank.' Seeing the string of words written in his battle pad Lester was wide-eyed. The failure was actually higher ranked than him.

"How far are you going to insult the other students! You obviously entered this school and acquired your rank through underhanded means. If your father the hero was still alive he would be sorely disappointed in you."

The moment Lester said those words, he felt a heavy pressure befall him. Not only him those that stayed behind to watch the show felt it too. Yet after a few seconds, the heavy pressure suddenly disappeared. Lester then heard an ice-cold voice speaking to him.

"Enough of this farce, just challenge me already." Hearing Sigmund's voice, Lester could feel something was off.

'Could it be possible that heavy pressure was coming from him?... No, that ain't possible it was most likely one of the twins trying to scare me off. Yes, surely that's what happened. They're just trying to scare me so I won't challenge the failure. Yeah, I'm sure that's it, but I won't fall for it. I'm going to expose the failure of his misdeeds.'

After convincing himself Lester looked at Sigmund and raised his battle pad. "I challenge you to a battle." The battle pads started ringing again. The two checked the message they received.

'Battle approved. The battle will begin in twenty minutes. Head to open arena 120' After reading the message a map was displayed on the battle pad.

"You better prepare yourself." After saying his piece Lester left the room. Sigmund, Yuuki, and Mirai did the same and left the room after a short pause. Once the four were gone the classroom started to get noisy.

"Did you hear that? He was actually higher ranked."

"I know, so either he's the real deal or he was just like Lester said a phony using his family's influence."

"Hey look it says here that we can watch the battles of other students." One of the students raised their battle pad.

"You're right, then should we watch the battle between the two?"

"Sure let's go." After agreeing to watch Sigmund's battle, the students saw Aki passed them by. Wasn't she also challenged by another student? The others then looked back and saw a shivering student who was holding onto his neck.

"Hey what happened?" Curious as to why he wasn't moving one of the students approached the shaking classmate.

"She cut me, she cut me, she cut me." The one who approached heard his classmate mumbling the same thing over and over again. Curious the group of students pulled the hand of the shaking student away from his neck. They then saw a clear neck without a single mark, yet even with this revelation, the student kept repeating that Aki had cut him.

Riku who was sitting at the back watched everything unfold. He saw how Sigmund's expression change and he felt that overwhelming bloodlust that Sigmund emitted. Yet what surprised Riku the most was what happened to the one who challenged Aki.

The student did the same thing as Lester and questioned Aki's legitimacy in being part of Class 1-A. The moment he did so Aki spoke and asked. "Are you challenging me?" The moment she said those words the student that confronted her started to hold his neck and looked at Aki in surprise.

"You're unworthy." After saying those words to the trembling student Aki left the room.

'She didn't draw her sword, she wasn't even touching it when that happened. This place is even more dangerous than I expected.' Riku licked his lips as he started writing in his notepad.
