That night

Chandler was in the garage with his parents, Mr. Beckham's truck was still parked outside so the garage was empty apart from some boxes and parts of cars that are no longer in use. The whole garage was silent, Mr. Beckham just finished telling them about his encounter with Brad, his old-time friend. He told them what Brad said was the reason why the Entities were in support of Chandler breaking his seal, Mr. Beckham knew that telling Chandler that the Entities wanted him to break his seal so he could fulfill his destiny in a way that will favor the werewolves or they put him down won't make Chandler change his mind. Chandler was looking terrified when he heard that but Mr. Beckham was not worried, he knew how determined Chandler was and this little thing he just said won't be enough to make him change his mind.

"I don't want it again." Chandler finally broke the silence but the way that Mr. Beckham exchanged glances meant that they were not expecting that response.

"What?" Mr. Beckham asked so Chandler could be clearer, he wants Chandler to break his seal now so he could help him out and he had time to think about it if Chandler could make them stop hiding from humans then it won't be a bad idea.

"I don't think it's a good idea to break my seal, you guys should be happy now because I know you don't want me to do it," Chandler explained he was nervous and scared so the little that his father was enough to convince him to not go through with it.

The garage was quiet again but not for a long time, Mr. Beckham cleared his throat as he looked at his wife who was mute and then he moved closer to Chandler looking for the perfect words to use to convince him that he wants him to break the seal that he was not in support of before.

"I know you're scared son, the truth is that I would love it if you would break your seal and I would make sure to be there for you and help you through anything."

"Why...why would you want me to do that now?" Chandler was confused now, his father just told him that the Entities are ready to eliminate him if he breaks his seal and takes any decision that would be harmful to the existence of the werewolves.

"The Entities would make sure that you get your seal broken for sure even if you don't want it, it would be better if you do it voluntarily and we're here for you son." Mr. Beckham replied as he looked at his wife who nodded in agreement.

"I don't know if I'm ready for all of this, I don't know what I have to do to fulfill my destiny," Chandler stated.

"I don't know too but I think the first step is this, you have to break your seal first then when the time is right you will know what you have to do." Mr. Beckham was convincing enough because when he looked right at Chandler's face he could see him gaining his courage back.

"Let's do this then." Chandler's voice was not strong but he believed that he had to trust his father if he thinks it would be a good idea then he was ready to do it.

"Firstly, you have to remove your shirt and kneel so I can set these candles around you," Tracy said as she picked a box that was behind her feet, she moved to where Chandler was and opened the box which was filled with candles.

"We will still need the totem right?" Chandler asked as he removed his shirt and flung it behind him.

"You mean this?" Tracy pulled out a totem from the box of candles and it looked exactly like the totem that Brian gave to him that night in the basement.

"It looks the same," Chandler said in awe as he took the totem from Tracy and looked at the totem closely.

"Yeah, the totem is the most crucial item for this." Mr. Beckham said as he moved closer to help his wife arrange the candles around Chandler.

Mr. Beckham picked up the candles in the box as he moved around Chandler placing the candles around him, his wife was with a lighter so she just lit the candles while Mr. Beckham drops some hot liquid wax from the lit candles on the floor and sticks the candle on it. They repeated that until they were almost done and Chandler was in the middle of the lit candles with just the totem in his hand.

"So what does the totem do?" Chandler asked as he watched his parents circle him with the candles.

"Have I told you about the origin of werewolves?" Mr. Beckham asked

"No."

"Have you heard about Nebuchadnazeer?"

"Is that a Greek god?" Chandler asked

"No. He was once the king of Babylon but he challenged God and God turned him into an animal to make him humble but God later turned him back." Mr. Beckham responded.

Chandler was confused because that did not answer his question in any way, he looked at his mother and she was busy setting more candles around the garage to make it more lit.

"So did God do that with this totem or what?"

"No, before God turned him back to human. The king's advisers took him to many mages to know if they could reverse it but no one dared to do anything to reverse it because they knew it was the supreme God that made him that way." Mr. Beckham paused and Chandler exhaled as he sat down in the middle of the Candles, he knew that it would be a long story.

"They moved the King to and fro until they met one mage that had no respect for any other gods, he believed that he had the power to change him back. This mage tried but instead of lifting the curse, he took a share in the curse too but sadly it was not just him but his whole family too turned to beasts."

"Did God turn them back when he turned the king back too?" Chandler asked but his father waved his head.

"God forgot about him and his family but even though the Mage was a full beast he was able to use the totem that he always wore in his neck to Change back to human but not fully. The power in the totem was enough to help him get back to his human form but he still had fangs and claws which he could use anytime he wanted." Mr. Beckham continued with his story.

"So he did the same thing for his family and turned them back too?" Chandler asked immediately as he thought that he has already understood how the story ended but he was wrong.

"No. You have to be strong in mind and get in touch with your human form for you to turn back but sadly none of his family was as strong as him so he had to kill them all to save them from the pain and shame. He had more kids later but discovered that some were half human and half beast just like him while some were just half human. He made more totems even stronger than the ones he had, he taught the children how to use the totem to break the seal, he was the first one to do this." Mr. Beckham paused, he believes that he has answered the question asked and also told him the story about how werewolves came about.

"So that's how werewolves came about?" Chandler asked lowly.

"They are lots of stories about how werewolves came about and that is just one of them," Tracy added as she walked to where they were.

"Any other story was just mere folklore." Mr. Beckham stated.

"We wouldn't know because we were not there in the medieval times," Tracy said and Chandler giggled.

"So mom what's your own story?" Chandler asked as he looked at his mom, he was enjoying the storytelling or he was just nervous and was just stalling but he would not be able to stall forever.

"The origin of werewolves does not matter, it's real and you're one of them so let's do this." Chandler's heart sank immediately he heard his mother say that.

"Yeah she is right, the candle won't burn forever." Mr. Beckham added as he bent closer to where Chandler was, Chandler cleared his throat as he knelt with the totem still in his hand. He was nervous but he had to be strong and he was happy that he was doing this with his father.

"So son, immediately after the spells and chants then you hold the totem very firmly and think of the best moment you think makes you human. Once your seal is broken you will turn to a beast so you have to have a strong mind and memory of the moment that makes you mere human so you will use that as an anchor to your human side." Mr. Becham explained.

"What happens if I don't have such a strong mind?" Chandler asked and silence filled the garage briefly.

"It won't get to that." Mr. Beckham replied

"That's not very reassuring," Chandler confessed his fears.

"Everything is going to be okay," Tracy replied as she held Chandler's hands softly, she had walked to where he was and squatted down in front of where he knelt.

"Are you ready?" Mr. Beckham asked Chandler the moment that Tracy let go of his hands and stood up.

"Yeah," Chandler replied as he cleared his throat and exhales.

Mr. Beckham and his wife stepped back a little as Mr. Beckham instructed Chandler to repeat whatever he said, Chandler nodded, and then Mr. Beckham started with some gibberish incantations that Chandler found it even hard to repeat but he did When they were done with the incantations and Chants, Chandler did not feel any difference and he was about to tell his father but he felt a sharp pain. The pain started from his spine and then he could feel it on every part of his body at once, he groaned and winced as he tries to jump the candles to meet his parents but it was like there was a spiritual invisible shield around him that made it impossible for him to jump or cross the candles.

"Use the totem just like I told you!" Amidst the pain, wailing, and groaning he could hear his father's voice yelling.

Chandler held the totem in his hands as he tried to ignore his pains at the moment and focus on the totem and think of the moment that made him a mere human like his father told him to. Mr. Beckham was shouting at the top of his voice to motivate Chandler to be strong but the pain was lasting than it should so he was starting to get worried as he looked at his wife and she looked worried too. All of a sudden, Chandler fell flat inside the circle and was not moving, his mother tried to run to meet him but Mr. Beckham held her back.

"Give him some time." Mr. Beckham said as they watched Chandler's body lying down in front of them in the middle of burning candles.

Tracy was about to free herself from Mr. Beckham's grip so she could go and see why their son was moving but before she could do that, she heard him groan and move. Tracy and her husband smiled as they exhaled, Chandler looked at them and his eyes were glowing red and then he howled so loud that all the candles in the garage went off and Tracy had to reach for the light switch and turn it on immediately.

"It's done, son." Mr. Beckham said as he stepped forward to hold Chandler who was looking exhausted.

Chandler looked down at his fingers and stretched his fingers more and then claws popped out and he smiled.

"You're gonna learn this faster than I even thought." Mr. Beckham said as they all giggled.
