He simply nodded as his face was filled with surprise.

Zara walked up to me as she extended her hand, I took hers in a handshake "welcome to the kitchen"

She handed me a toque Blanche.

I spent the next few weeks just having a go in the kitchen during the day and peeking I mean scouting the free night live pornos from Esther.

But for some reason she had become more daring, like leaving the door open a little wider, and increasing her moaning just when I was right at the door.

I wondered how her parents felt about it, but I didn't bother to ask.

I was rather late to the restaurant today, didn't sleep early enough and woke up pretty late.

I was already the star chef and was used it to when I was needed to make meals for important or special guests, but today was different.

They seem rather anxious than usual.

"What's up?" I asked as I changed, grabbing the apron as I wore it.

"Country food inspection" One of the chefs replied.

He was the one who challenged and try to stop me before, but now he just follows me everywhere like a lapdog saying he would like to learn from me.

Well, I basically saved his ass from getting fired before when he mistakenly tripped a large amount of salt into the food he was cooking for a couple of guest.

Just throw a potato in there and boom saved.

Since then, I had become the main chef aside from Zara herself who made meals once in a while for rather very, very influential individuals of the Society.

I was being briefed on the food inspection process where chef were being harassed and careers cut short.

The inspection team moved around once 6 months and the team was made up of high-end chefs all over the world.

It was a big opportunity for upcoming chefs to make it, or a disaster that ends their careers.

The entire event was filmed on live TV like a reality show, more like Gordon Ramsay energy if you ask me.

Today happened to be the day our restaurant was picked, it was a random pick, so nobody could prepare in advance and just operate normally.

Zara walked up to me smiling.

"Do you want to take it?" She asked.

There was a spoken rule that the head chefs didn't participate because imagine the head chefs getting cooked in a restaurant by some professional chefs, it will literally be the end of that restaurant.

So they usually picked a young chef from the team, so as if they were a mistake it didn't affect the restaurant too much.

I simply nodded as I excused myself, walking out of the back door.

"Is he nervous?" A chef asked as they watched me walking away.

"Who won't be?" Another replied as they went back to work.

"Hey, fuckers, I need more ammo" I said out loud.

I simply walked back inside confidently as the kitchen was filled with cameras and different individuals in black chef uniforms.

One of them walked up to me, patting my shoulder.

"Thought you ran away boy" He said

I held his shoulder, dropping it as I dusted my shoulder, everybody looked at me in surprise.

They knew how young chefs with bright futures have been humiliated by the very man in front of me.

This just made a grudge between us, but who cares, I don't feel any pressure.

"No pressure" I said, smiling.

I grabbed two kitchen knifes, striking them together.

"What am I making for you?" I asked as I slammed on knife on the metal sink, throwing the other one, which landed close to the first one.

"Anything, impress me" The inspector who's placed his hand on my shoulder said as the camera panned to me.

"How about a consommé?" I asked, tapping the table.

The entire kitchen staff, including the guest, went quiet immediately.

The inspector burst into laughter.

"A consommé?" He said to confirm what I just said.

"Yes, a consommé" I repeated.

"I have seen many ambitious chefs, but this is the first time I have seen a stupid one?" He replied, still laughing.

I sighed.

"I will take that as a yes then" I said as I walked to the fridge, pulling out 300g of chicken breast without skin.

Everybody watched me.

"You know the consommé was started in France?" I said, smiling as I washed the chicken breast.

"Consommé for a king" One of the inspectors said, nodding his head.

"Everybody knows it was started in France" The inspector who had his hand on my shoulder said

I had come to learn his name was Bob during the introduction, and he was the last champion of the international chef cooking competition.

"Yeah, yeah, am not talking about the basic information you all were taught in chef school like how it was started by Louis XIV of France when he ordered his chef to create a soup so clear that he could see his kingly reflection in it." I said as I began to dice the meat into cubes.

"Hey Mike help me grab those shallots two of them actually and on your way help me grab 6 fresh eggs" I said as I finished slicing the meat.
