Chimerical War

Merlin brought Ra to a huge island, there were towers and mountains, caves, rivers, and castles, hundreds of structures of all sorts dotted the landscape.

"They've repurposed an entire island for this?"

Ra was stunned. Merlin was nodding emphatically.

"They've taken to calling it the 6 Cardinal Chiliocosm. Look," Merlin pointed to a hovering list of information, "those are the rules of Chimerical War, you have to register at that terminal," he pointed towards a large white square plate with a glowing blue screen. "and you'll be matched with 9 other Chimeras." he explained excitedly.

"So the players are called Chimeras, apart from that, are the rules the same?"

Merlin shrugged, "Only you really knew the rules Ra, come on, let's get registered." He then proceeded to drag Ra towards the terminal.

As Merlin was registering, Ra's attention was drawn to an incredible battle happening in the center of the island. 12 green monstrosities were currently surrounding and sieging a tower. Inside the tower were various colored chimerical forms, apparently they had sought protection inside the tower and combined their resources to strengthen the towers walls.

The green monsters pummeled the walls violently, every strike causing the tower to shake.

One monster was flung at the wall like a sacrificial cannonball, and on impact directly detonated, causing the tower to crumble to the ground.

Silver lettering appeared in the sky.

[Winner: Queen Bast!]

One of the green monsters descended to the ground before dissipating, leaving Bast in its place.

Ra was slightly stunned but not surprised, this game is only limited by what the players can imagine.

And Bast being both creative and clever was a scary opponent.

Merlin didn't take long to register, and Ra quickly chose the name he wanted to register under as well.

Not long after Ra registered he was placed in a match, he was slightly disappointed to find that Merlin did not join his instance.

However, he was soon embroiled in battle and was having the time of his life. 

Ra used two chimerical forms to construct wings for himself, the remaining 23 were used to give him a shield, a sword, and armor.

Like a yellow beam of light Ra shot off towards his closest opponent whose chimerical forms were still bubble shaped.

Ra easily wiped out each of his opponents on the field in a few moments and before he knew it, the match was over.

Silver lettering appeared in the air.

Ra landed on the ground as his chimerical orbs dispersed, he was a little disappointed at the level of talent his opponents had displayed.

He found Merlin waiting for his next match as well.

"Merlin, how was the match?"

"err...they weren't too good?" he said laughing.

"I thought the same, can we set up private matches here?"

"We should be able to," said Merlin, "but it beats me, you wanna check?"

"Yeah lets do that, it isn't too fun when no one fights back." Ra said sounding aggrieved.

The two made their way to the terminal, Ra scanned through the list until he found an 'invite' option.

"Merlin, I've got it, go ask for people to participate in high level wars."

Merlin nodded before sprinting off yelling loudly at the surrounding Chimeras. He soon had a small crowd.

"Bro invite me, names Treetop." Ra quickly sent invites as the players sent their names.

"Menacing Axe"

"Soft Peas"

"Great Merlin"

"Set"

Bast slid through the crowd like a lithe cat, displaying an exceedingly cocky smile.

"The number one Chimera, Queen Bast." she said grinning.

"What? don't tell me you're scared, big strong guys like you?"

Ra grinned, an invite popped up in front of her face. 

After filling in the remaining slots they were immediately transported to a location on the island map.

Ra was scanning the area with a sharpened focus, his chimerical orbs were spinning rapidly, collectively they began to kick up dust and soon formed a massive tornado with Ra at the center.

Soon Ra was shooting across the terrain at 200 miles per hour. He wrought devastation upon the surrounding structures, and even stone were caught in his wake. Flying towards the tornado and orbiting it at a rapid pace before being flung in a random direction causing even more destruction.

Ra even captured another Chimera and his chimerical orbs, the suction force resembled an unstable gravitational pull. Ra split off 2 chimerical orbs and altered their forms into massive blades, becoming a sharp spinning top that shredded everything that came in contact with his violent winds.

Seeing that Ra was constantly adapting and on the verge of becoming unstoppable, Merlin formed his chimerical orbs into a single giant ball, suddenly the ball split in half and each half began spinning rapidly in opposite directions, not long afterward the ball burst into flames.

Merlin sent this spinning ball of fire hurtling towards Ra's tornado, and surprisingly Ra's revolving winds of death slowed to a crawl before stopping completely.

Ra retreated having lost all but two of his chimerical orbs, Merlin was eliminated along with the other Chimera who happened to be trapped inside Ra's tornado, Soft Peas.

Merlin cursed, "If I'd known they'd all be destroyed I wouldn't have sent all of them into that spinning death storm." He said feeling wronged. Unfortunately there was no medicine for regret in this world and all he could do was spectate the rest of the match.
