PRIORITIES

Mom woke me up today because we go to temple every year together on my birthday. She gifted me a beautiful red designer dress. I wore it and got ready and went downstairs. We then went to temple and Veer came directly to the temple. After temple we went home, like every year Mom has made Kheer for us. Then we had breakfast, after that Papa said that he arranged a small party in the evening. We were sitting in the living room and talking to each other. Veer got a call, so he went to study to take the call.

Nikhil entered slowly, I ran to him and hugged him. Then I made him sit on the couch opposite to Papa and I sat beside him. After greeting mom and dad, Nikhil turned towards my father and asked, "Uncle, can I take Dhrithi out for lunch?" Papa smiled and replied, "I don't have any problem, if you want to go ask her and go out." He then turned towards me and asked slowly, "Baby, will you come out for lunch?" I blushed profusely and nodded my head. He held out his hand for me, I placed my hand in his and we went out.

During our drive, I informed Nikhi that dad has arranged a party in the evening. I asked him to come in the evening for the party. But he said, dad has already sent him an invitation. He took me to his farm house. He took me to the back side of the farm house. There a gazebo was decorated beautifully. Everything was so beautiful there. We then sat there and had our lunch, and spent quality time with him. After that he dropped me home and went away.

When I entered, I got to know that Veer has gone home. I didn't understand why he went home, because on my birthday he would stay here all day. Then later I realized that he might be angry that I left even without informing him. I'm such a stupid, he came here for me and I left with Nikhil and didn't even tell him that I'm going. I called him immediately but he didn't answer. I tried again but there's no answer. I felt really bad, Am I changing? Am I neglecting Veer? I don't have any answers for these questions? I sat there thinking and then my papa came and sat beside me. He asked me, "Princess, is everything ok?" I nodded my head as no.

He asked me, "What happened? Did anyone say something?" I said, "Papa, I don't know what's wrong with me. But ever since I met Nikhil, everything is so messed up and I somehow end up hurting Veer. Even today, I hurt him. I don't know what to do." He rubbed my back and asked me sweetly, "What did you do today?" I replied, "I went out with Nikhil for lunch, I didn't even inform Veer before going. He didn't even go to hospital for me today and I didn't even bother to tell him that I'm going out. He must have felt bad. That's why he's angry with me and not even answering my calls. You know how he is right? Even if he's angry with me, he would answer my call but now he's not answering my calls and messages. What should I do papa?"

He said, "Princess this is the important time in your life. Before Nikhil, it was only about you. But now you have Nikhil, so you should think of him also. It's not wrong that you wanted to spend time with Nikhil. Every girl wants to spend her special day with her partner. But apart from Nikhil you also have other people in your life and you cannot loose them. You cannot please everyone and at the same time you even can't hurt others. So, you have to think before doing anything. And coming to today's incident, what you did was wrong. You should have waited for Veer, and leave after informing him and asking sorry for leaving suddenly. Then he might have felt bad but he would understand later. Like yesterday, for your sake, he didn't even come infront of you until Nikhil left. Don't feel bad, explain him, he'll understand but next time keep it in your mind. You understood what I'm saying?" I nodded my head.

And then he smiled and said, "Don't think too much, Veer is not answering your calls because he forgot his phone here" and gave me his phone and I smiled at him. Then he continued, "But that doesn't mean he isn't angry with you." and he left.

I got up and went to my room, to get ready. I got ready in a teal blue gown and matching ear rings and wore the chain which Nikhil gifted me. And I was waiting for my mom to call me, so that I could go down stairs. Veer's phone is with me only, he didn't come till now. After some time, my mom has come to take me down stairs. I was descending down the stairs but my eyes was searching for Veer. I didn't find him anywhere. By the time, I reached the last step, my father came there for me and held his out for me. I held his hand and walked with him. I saw Nikhil coming towards me, I smiled at him and he smiled at me back. He noticed that I wore the chain he gave me and I can say how happy he was by looking at his face. He hugged me and whispered, "You're looking stunning." And I blushed, but tried to act normal because if anyone would see us then the rumours will start spreading which I definetely don't want.

Then, I met some of my dad's friends and but still Veer hasn't come. Then I saw Raj uncle coming in. So, I excused and went to him. He hugged me and wished me, "Happy Birthday Sweetheart" and handed me a bouquet. I smiled at him and said thankyou. I immediately asked him, "Uncle where's Veer?" He gestured me to look back. I saw Veer coming in. I ran to him and hugged him and he hugged me back.

He asked me, "What happened Misti? Why did you come running to me even in this heavy dress?" I looked at him and said, "I'm sorry Veer. Please forgive me." He said, "But why are you asking sorry?" I replied, "For going out for lunch without informing you." He said, "Hey, it's okay. We'll talk about that later. See everyone are looking at us. Let's go in." I broke the hug and saw that every one looking at us, so I started walking in with him. Everyone know about my friendship with Veer, so I don't mind huuging him infront of everyone. Then papa came to us and said, "Since, Veer has also come. Let's cut the cake." I nodded my head and Papa asked the waiter to bring the cake.

Mom and Dad stood on my either sides. Nikhil stood beside my dad. And Veer was standing in the previous position itself. I gestured him to come forward, but he didn't move. So, I walked to him and dragged him and make him stand beside my papa. then I cut the cake.

I fed the first piece to my Dad and then my Mom. And I fed the next piece to Veer and then I turned to feed Nikhil but he wasn't standing there anymore. I think he's angry now. It's becomig very difficult for me.

When everyone left for dinner, I took a piece of cake in a plate and looked for Nikhil. He was not there anywhere in the hall. I came out searching for him. And there he was, gazing at the stars in the garden. I went to him and tapped on his shoulder and he turned back.

He looked serious, I didn't know what to say, but I somehow managed to ask, "Why did you leave like that?" He said, "Don't you know?" I replied, "No, I don't"

He replied, "Then let it be like that" and he was about to turn again. I held his arms and didn't allow him. He looked at me asked, "What is it?" I smiled at him and said, "Won't you have cake?" He said, "No"

I said, "Even if I feed you with my hands" He said, "I know you wouldn't do that." I said, "And why would I not?" and pushed the cake in his mouth. He moved a little back, and ate it slowly.

After eating he said, "You'll feed me here, when no one is present. But you'll not feed me in front of everyone."

I replied, "No, it's nothing like that. I was about to feed you, but you wasn't there. You left already" He said, "Really? I thought you wouldn't that's why I left. When you turned to feed Veer, I thought you wouldn't feed me because if you would feed, then you would feed me first right?"
