NEW LIFE

I woke up from my sleep, when someone tapped on my shoulder. I opened my eyes to see who it was, one of the flight attendants was standing there. She smiled sweetly and said, "Mam we're going to land in few minutes. Please fasten your seat belts." I smiled and nodded my head and she left. We landed after 20 minutes.

After finishing all the formalities, I came out and an American in his early 30's was holding a placard with my name. I went to him and said, "Hey, I'm Dhrithi Saxena" he smiled and said, "Good evening Mam, I'm Jack. Mr. Dixit has sent me, I'm going to be your chauffeur from now on." I shaked my hands with him and then he took my luggage and guided me towards our car. After a drive of one and half hour we reached my pent house. He bought my luggage in. When I entered the house, a man was there already in the living room. Seeing me, he stood and I went to me. He's my father aged and he was also an Indian. I guess he might be Vinod Dixit.

I bent to touch his feet, but he caught me in middle and hugged me. After that he said, "Daughters shouldn't touch feet, they should always be close to heart." I smiled at him and then he continued, "By the way, I'm Vinod Dixit. Your father's best friend. You must have heard my name." I smiled and said, "Yes, uncle. Papa used to say a lot about you. I always wanted to meet you, but we couldn't meet earlier." He smiled and said, "Now, as long as you're going to stay here, we can enjoy. Your aunty also wanted to come and meet you, but I said you'll be tired. So, she asked me to invite you for tomorrow's lunch. You should come definetely." I smiled and nodded my head. Then a sweet young lady in her early forties came in. She handed me water and then coffee. While I was drinking my coffee, uncle said, "She's Annie and she'll be here with you and look after your needs." She smiled and said, "What do you want for dinner sweetheart?" I smiled and said, "Make anything light." And then uncle said, "She can also make Indian food, don't hesitate to ask her anything and I'll be there anyways. If you miss home, you can come to our home at anytime. My daughter is looking forward to meet you. You'll become good friends. Now, I'll go and you take rest. I'll come again tomorrow. Bye" and kissed on my forehead before leaving. My luggage was already shifted to my room. I went to my room and got freshened up and then called my papa.

"Hello princess, how are you?"

"I'm fine papa. Vinod uncle is very sweet. He invited me for lunch tomorrow."

"I know, I spoke to him just now. Are you tired?"

"A little bit, but I'll be fine once I sleep over."

"Take rest for a while before dinner and then you can sleep."

"Ok papa, love you. Bye"

"Bye princess, take care."

And then I don't know when I slept while listening songs. I woke up when Auntie called me. I had my dinner with her. Then she asked me about breakfast and my food habits. We spoke for a while then seeing me yarning, she asked to go to sleep. And I went to my room and slept.

Next day auntie woke me, then I freshened up and went to the room. She made french toast for breakfast. After breakfast, she told me that Vinod uncle will be coming in a while. I went to my room and got ready. Then I heard auntie calling me, saying that uncle has come.

I went downstairs and hugged uncle and said, "Good morning uncle." He smiled and said, "Good morning sweet heart. How are you?" I smiled and said, "I'm good uncle." then he asked me, "Are you ready? Your aunty woke up early morning and started preparing everything. She's very excited to meet you. Even my daughter got ready and they literally pushed me out of our home and sent me here to bring you" I chuckled and said, "I'm ready uncle. Just give me two minutes, then we can go." He nodded his head and I went to my room to take my phone. Then we left for his home. All the way during our journey, he was telling about everything. Things and places I might need and also about his family. Uncle was very friendly and I'm liking his company. I'm looking forward to meet aunty and uncle's daughter. By uncle's words, I got to know that she finished her MBA and is working in Uncle's company.

Soon we reached home, and when I was about to enter inside. Aunty stopped me and soon a girl in early twenties came there with an Arthi thaal. I guess she is uncle's daughter. After taking Arthi, she asked me to come in. When I entered, that girl hugged me and said, "I'm Anshula, but you can call me Anshu, nice meeting you"

I smiled at her excitement and hugged her back. After breaking the hug, I said "I'm Dhrithi and nice meeting you too" Then she dragged me in and made me sit on the couch. Auntie bought juice for me, she was very happy seeing me. All of them are very friendly and welcoming. I liked them all. We were talking for a while, then Anshu took me to her room, she showed me around. Their house was really beautiful.

Anshu is very bubbly and chirpy girl. She talks nineteen to dozen and she doesn't get tired. But she's very sweet and we became a very good friends in the short period of time. She was telling about her friends, office and everything. Then, auntie called us for Lunch.

For lunch, auntie made Butter chicken, Tandoori Chicken, Roti and Gulab Jamun for dessert. Lunch was a noisy event. Aunty made me eat so much and I really liked it so much. Aunty asked Anshu to take me out and show me around. Anshu said that she'll take me out tomorrow. After sometime I said I'll leave, but aunty didn't let me. She made me stay even for dinner. And after dinner, Anshu dropped me back. I enjoyed a lot today, and I'm liking this new life. I called my dad and informed everything and then I went to sleep.

Next day, Anshu woke me. She has come early morning, as we were going out today. After breakfast we went out, we went for sight seeing for a while and then after lunch she took me for shopping. After that we were very tired, and then we returned home. She dropped me home and left. After Dinner, dad called me.

"Hello Princess, how was your day?"

"It was great. What about yours?"

"Good, I called you to ask whether you're okay to join our office from tomorrow."

"Ok papa, I'll join from tomorrow."

"Beta you'll be working as assistant to my manager there. Now you'll become familiar with financial department too."

"Yes papa."

"Jack will take you to our office and I know you'll manage after that. And like you said I didn't tell your full name, no one knows that you're my daughter."

"Thankyou papa, love you. I'm very sleepy now. I'll talk to you tomorrow and tell you about my first day."

"Ok bye. Good night beta."

"Bye"

And I cut the call and slept after that.

Next day I woke up early and got ready. After breakfast, Jack took me to our office. Office Building was very attractive, I stood there admiring our office. Then I entered our office, the interior is also very good. I asked the receptionist that I want to meet the manager. She asked me to wait as the manager has not come yet. Actually I came early to office, I was very excited and got ready pretty fast. After 20 minutes, the receptionist called me and said that manager has come and was asking for me. She guided me to the manager's cabin. I saw the nameplate, it read Arjun Varma. She opened the door for me, and I entered not before asking permission. I thought that the manager will be in his forties, but in real he was in his late thirties. He was looking very handsome in his charcoal tux. But I mentally slapped myself for thinking like that.

He asked me to sit down, and then I handed him my resume. He asked, "What's your name?" I replied, "I'm Dhrithi" He looked at me seriously and said, "I asked your full name" I replied, "I don't want to share my full name" politely. He said, "As you wish Ms. Dhrithi" and he looked my resume, there was no expression on his face. After that he said plainly, "You worked as a designer, then why do you want to work in financial department"

I said, "I want to start my designing company, so to gain experience I want to work in financial department." He said, "Ok, from today you're going to work as my assistant." then he explained me about my work and then he showed me my cabin.
