NEW GANG

I don't know why did I even ask him to join for lunch. I don't know what happened to me when he said that he has come alone and asked him to join us for lunch and now I'm regretting for asking. I don't know what his reply would be. What if he say something? When I was busy in my thoughts he said "Sure."

I thought he would deny and shout on me for even asking but he didn't do any of it. Then I looked around to see where Veer and Anshu were sitting. I found them sitting at the corner table. Then I looked at Arjun and said, "My friends are sitting over there, so shall we go there?" He nodded his head and I guided him towards the table.

Veer has already seen us coming towards the table. He was surprised seeing Arjun beside me. I sat beside Veer and Arjun sat beside me.

Veer was the first one to speak, "Hey, I'm Rajveer Singh. But you can call me Veer." and forwarded his hand towards Arjun. Arjun shaked his hands with Veer and said, "I'm Arjun Varma and you can call me Arjun." Then he turned towards Anshu and said, "You're Anshula Dixit right?" Anshu nodded her head and shaked her hands with him. Arjun said, "It's nice meeting you Miss. Dixit, I've heard a lot about you."

Anshu smiled sweetly and said, "I hope you heard only good things. Also call me Anshu, Miss. Dixit makes me feel like a older woman." He chuckled at that and nodded his head. Then Anshu said, "So, you're the grumpy boss of our sweety" After hearing her, Arjun immediately looked at me and then turned towards Anshu and said, "Unfortunately yes, I'm her boss. And I think you've heard only bad things about me."

Anshu laughed and said, "You're absolutely right. But I also know that Dhrithi never complains unnecessarily. Tell me why do you always put up that serious poker face?"

He laughed and said, "Actually first I was working as junior executive manager, then seeing my skills, Mr. Saxena has appointed me as Financial manager. So, after I've become manager, nobody cared for me and didn't do the work I assigned or them. Because some of them were senior to me and they couldn't take it, that I've become their head. This followed for a month, then I was fed up of all this because it'll cause loss to the company. So, I've become strict, arrogant boss for them. Since, then they started listening my orders and doing their work. So, I don't maintain any personal relation in office."

Anshu said, "Good, I always knew you have a back story behind this serious face. But seriously, you might be extremely good at work or else Neeraj uncle wouldn't appoint you as manager."

He smiled and said, "May be" Then he turned towards Veer and said, "What do you do?" Veer smiled and said, "I'm a doctor." He smiled and said, "Nice, where do you work?"

Veer said, "I used to work in Delhi City hospital. I've shifted here yesterday only. So, have to look for work." That's when waiter has bought food. I looked at Arjun and said, " Are you okay with this food or you want to order anything else?" He smiled and said, "I'm ok with anything." Waiter served food for us and then we started eating food.

Arjun said, "Veer I know few doctors working in the top hospitals here. So, if you want I can help you." Veer said, "Thanks, but I can manage. My senior doctor in Delhi, already gave reference. So, I'll manage somehow."

Arjun said, "From long you three have been friends?" I said, "Veer and I have been friends since we're 5. And I've met Anshu a week back, but we've become good friends. I don't have any one other than her here." Then immediately Anshu said, "Hey, you can even count Arjun. Right Arjun?" and turned towards him. He smiled and said, "Yes, but she don't even consider me as my friend. We already had an argument regarding this earlier this morning."

Veer said, "Now I know the reason behind her foul mood. Can you please tell me what has happened?" Arjun narrated the whole thing. Veer looked at me as if asking me to explain my side.

I said, "I'm just a responsibility for him and nothing more. So, I asked him not to worry for me and said that you're there to take care of me." Then Arjun stopped eating and turned towards me and said, "You only feel responsible towards people whom you care. I care for you so onl I was worried for you. But if you don't get that, I can't help it."

When I was about to reply, Veer said, "Misti, you shouldn't have behaved like that. He was worried for you, because he cares for you and also he's answerable to Neeraj uncle. You shouldn't be rude to him."

I replied, "If he cares for me, he shouldn't shout on me. You don't know how he shouted on me."

He said, "Misti, even you know you're wrong. So stop whining." I said, "ok" and continued eating. Arjun chuckled seeing me.

I was eating, then I heard Arjun say, "So, are we friends now?"

I said, "Yes, but only if you don't shout at me." He said, "Then that's not possible" and I glared him. He smiled and said, "Hey, I was kidding. I'll not shout at you, but I can't help it when it comes to work." I said ok and continued eating. Soon we finished eating and waiter has bought bill. I was about to pay the bill, but Veer said that he'll pay. Anshu protested that she'll pay. We three were arguing and Arjun paid the bill in that span.

Anshu told that she'll take Veer for a movie. Then it's time to go back. Then Arjun said, "Will you come with me atleast now?" I nodded my head and asked Jack to go home and come in the evening.

Arjun opened the passenger door for me and I sat inside the car. Then he sat in the driving seat and started driving. Then I heard him saying, "I'm sorry Dhrithi, if I have hurt you in the morning." I replied, "Hey, it's okay. You don't need to say sorry." He smiled and said, "So, we're all good right?" I said, "Yes."

Then he said, "You're very lucky to have friend like Veer. I've seen concern for you in his eyes yesterday. He really loves you a lot."

I smiled and said, "Yes, he loves me a lot. He will do anything for me. Infact he shifted here only for me." He smiled and said, "That's so sweet. I think you people have always been together right?"

I smiled and said, "Yes, we've always been together. You know, even during our graduation we were together. We both studied in the same university. I went to Harvard and he joined Harvard Medical school. After finishing his mbbs, he worked as intern here itself, until I finish my MBA. Then both of us went to India together."

He smiled and said, "Now, I'm feeling jealous of you both. You both are such a sweethearts. I wish even I had a friend like you have." I smiled and said, "Don't worry, now we're there with you. You can always count on us." He smiled and said, "Thank you." Then we reached our office. And we were busy with our works.

In the evening I went to his cabin to inform him that I'm leaving. I informed him and was about to leave his cabin. I heard him saying, "What are you're plans for evening?" I turned and said, "Nothing much, as you know Anshu has asked me to meet them. Later have to see what happens."

He said, "Okay, actually I was getting bored. So, if you don't mind can I join you people?"

I smiled and said, "Hey, why would I mind. You can definitely join us. I'm sorry, I didn't ask you to come out with us."

He said, "It's okay, no problem." Then I said, "You've your car with you right? I'll ask Jack not to come for picking me from office." He said, "Yeah tell him. We can go in my car." I nodded and went to my cabin. I called Jack and asked him not to come. And then called Veer and informed him that Arjun is also coming with us. Veer asked us to come to Starbucks and they'll also come there directly.

I came out of the office and stood there waiting for Arjun. Arjun came with his car and I hopped in and we left for Starbucks. By the time we reached Starbucks, Veer and Anshu has come already and were waiting for us. We went in and sat down. Veer and Arjun has gone to bring our order and I was waiting impatiently for them. As it's evening time, there's a very long queue. After waiting for 20 minutes, they bought my coffee. And no one could be more happier than me at that time. Such is my love coffee. Not only me, the other three are also coffee lovers like me. We four have become good friends and we're now a gang.
