Getting back to Work

We boarded our flight half an hour back. The pilot has just made an announcement to fasten our seat belts that our flight is going to take off in two minutes. As soon as our flight took off, I drifted into deep slumber because I awake all night talking to papa. Infact we all were awake talking to each other. Papa and Raj uncle told us stories about their friendship and their memorable moments. We were so glad to hear them all. Papa told me how happy he is seeing Anshu and Arjun, the way they care for me and take care of me. Papa knew Veer would be there for me, but now seeing the other two who also care for me is making him overwhelmed. Now he got the assurance that I'll be ok and happy with them. He knew that Vinod uncle would take care of me, but still he was little afraid of how I'm going to stay there with them whom I barely know. But now everything is okay and he's very happy. But Raj uncle was little sad that we wouldn't be there with him. Last two years, we used to meet daily and also Veer used to come to our office and in that way uncle got chances to spend more time with Veer. Earlier there was little gap between uncle and Veer. Though they love each other a lot, there was always a little gap betweeen them. That gap is bridged a little bit in the past two years. But now since we were going back, he was little sad.

I don't know how long I slept, I woke up when Anshu woke me up saying that our flight will land in fifteen minutes. We reached home after three hours after finishing all the formalities. Anshu and Arjun went to their home. I directly went to my room to bath. Meanwhile Annie auntie said that she'll make something for us to eat. After freshening up we ate little bit and then retired to our rooms. During dinner Veer said that he's going to attend an interview tomorrow and soon join in any hospital. He's getting bored and also he's not liking like this without going to hospital. It's his passion. He love to work always.

Next day I woke up a bit early, then got ready soon to go to office. It's been 5 days since I've last gone to office. So, I'm little excited to go to office today. I had my breakfast and then Veer dropped me at my office and went to his interview. As soon as I entered our office, Emma rushed to me and hugged me. She said that she missed me and also worried for me that why did I not come to office. Also my number wasn't working because I was using my Indian number. Then she took me to her cabin, so that we could speak for a while till our office starts. Actually I came bit early today.

Emma said, "Hey Dhrithi even our manager didn't come to office past three days. I wonder what might have happened. Because this has never happened. He never took leave, he used to work even on holidays. I don't remember him taking even a sick leave." I was shocked with the information. That guy who never took leave for himself, took leave just for me. Instantly a smile played on lips when the information sunk in my mind. Emma gave me weird looks, but I diverted the topic and we spoke about other things that happened in the office last three days. I mean she was telling and I was just hearing her. She's very talkative just like me. Later I went to my cabin. I noticed that Arjun hasn't come yet.

So, I went to cafeteria and made coffee for Arjun. I went to his cabin and placed it on his table. I arranged the files on his table, but still he hasn't come. I can't stay there for too long in his absence, so I left a note for him.

"Hey, why are you late today? I've bought coffee for you which might have become cold by now. I know I don't make best coffee, but I can assure that you'll like it. So, just give a ring to my intercom, I'll bring another coffee for you."

And I went to my cabin, but even after half an hour my intercom didn't ring. So, I myself went to check on him. I enquired the receptionist whether Arjun has come or not. She said that he came twenty minutes back itself. I knocked on his cabin door, but there was no reply from his side. So, I slowly opened the door and peeped in. I saw him sitting on his chair and his head lying on the table. I wondered why is he sleeping in the office. I immediately ran inside and called him, but he didn't reply.

So, I went and stood beside him and patted on his cheek. He opened his eyes slowly, but immediately closed again. I think he's unable to open his eyes. I got panicked seeing him in that state. I sprinkled few drops of water on his face, so that he'll come to conscious. He opened his eyes slowly but he was very weak. He murmered, "Food" I understood that he might not have his food. I soon ran to cafeteria bought sandwiches and juice for him. I made him eat and then juice. He's now better.

I asked him, "Arjun what happened to you? Why were you so weak? You know how worried I was seeing you like that? Why did you not have your food?"

He replied, "Yesterday the food I eat in the flight didn't go well with my body. I have vomitted everything that I had, but still I was feeling nausea. So, I didn't have anything last night. Today morning I didn't have energy to make breakfast, so thought to have it in the office. But I don't know how I lost my conscious."

I replied, "You forgot that you have friends here. Next time, if you don't feel well, inform us. You're not alone now, we'll be there with you to take care of you. But please don't neglect your health like this. Also anytime if you dont feel like preparing food, come to our home. Remember you're family to us."

He smiled and said, "Sure." I asked, "Do you want anything else?" He replied, "No, I don't need anything. You can go to your cabin and carry on with your work. I'll call you if I need anything."

I nodded my head and went to my cabin.
