COLD WAR

We had our dinner and were just leaving and I got bumped into someone. I closed my eyes expecting that I'll fall but I was caught by a strong pair of arms. I opened my eyes to see the owner of those strong arms. When I opened my arms, I saw Nikhil holding me securely and I was staring at him. Then I heard him saying, "Hey, are you okay?"

I came out of his hold and said, "Yeah... I'm fine. What are you doing here?", He chuckled and replied, "The same for which you came here." I smiled and said, "I mean, I was shocked and in that I always end up asking stupid questions" He replied, "Hey, it's okay. I finished my meetings a while ago. Came here to have dinner with my friends." I smiled and said, "Oh cool." I didn't know what to say next, I looked around for Veer. He was standing beside me, he turned towards Nikhil and said, "Hey man, sorry for yesterday. I wasn't in my senses and I lashed out on you." Nikhil plainly said, "It's okay"

Veer said, "Yesterday we didn't start off well. So let's start new. Hey I'm Rajveer Singh" Nikhil said, "Nikhil... Nikhil Ahuja. Nice meeting you Mr. Singh" Veer smiled and said, "Hey call me Veer, Since you're Misti's friend, you're mine too. So, no formalities." Nikhil said, "Okay Veer" Nikhil turned towards me and said, "How was your day?" I smiled and said, "Great, we had lot's of fun. You know when we went to orphanage we met two kids there. They were exactly like how we used to be when we were kids."

Nikhil said, "Ohh, nice." and I continued, then we went to lonely place and sat down just talking to each other and reminiscing our childhood memories. It's was fun altogether. How was your day? And what about the deal?"

He replied, "It's was boring had meetings all the day, but it ended well, when we got the deal. We have a success party tomorrow you've to come definetely. I'll send you the address." I replied, "Okay" And then he said, "Okay then I've to go, bye" I said "bye" and he left just like that. He didn't invite Veer to the party and not even said bye to him and left.

I know their first meet was not good, but Veer has apologized for that. But still I didn't like the way Nikhil behaved with Veer. I turned around to see Veer, Veer was also angry but he didn't say anything. Veer was just trying to be friendly with him because of me, but Nikhil was too much. Then we went home, we decided to watch a movie. We played our favorite Bollywood picture, "Dilwale Dulhania Lejayenge" we slept there on the couch itself watching that movie.

In the middle of the night, I woke up as I was thirsty and then I realized that we slept on the couch itself. I tapped on his shulder and woke him up. He wasn't even opening his eyes properly, I chuckled at him and said, "Veer wake up, go to your room and sleep." He then started going to his room but didn't even open his eyes. He's such a sleepy head sometimes.

I drank water and went to my room. I wasn't getting any sleep, so I opened my phone. There was a text from Nikhil, "Please be here by 7 pm and don't worry it wouldn't be that boring." He sent me address, but I didn't want to go. I don't like speaking to people who doesn't respect Veer. So, I didn't reply anything. I opened my Instagram and I saw a request from Nikhil and I just ignored it. And then I slept after a while.

I woke up hearing Veer's voice, he was at the door and calling me. I sat on the bed and asked him to come in. He came in with my coffee. He said, "Good Morning Misti" I replied, "Good Morning to you too." We were drinking our coffee I asked him, "Veer what are your plans for today?" He replied, "I just have one meeting in the morning. I'll be free by 12 pm. Then I'm all yours." I smiled and said, "okay"

He then said, "Misti why don't you come with me to the office. You can also see our office here. And you can also attend the meeting." I said, "I'll come to the office but what will I do in your meeting. I'll just look around and then sit in your cabin till you finish your meetings." He replied, "What do you mean by what will you do? Come on you'll also join uncle's business soon. It's a meeting with our Interior designers so it'll be experience and then you can also give me your inputs. It'll be a great help for me also" I said ok because I know he'll not listen to me.

Then after finishing he asked me, "Misti shall we go to shopping after Lunch?" I replied, "We can but what's the need now?" He said, "You're going to the party tonight, you must have not brought party dresses. So, I asked shall we go to shopping so that we can buy dress for you"

I got angry and said, "Who said you that I'm going to that stupid party? I'm not going anywhere."

He replied, "I thought your new friend invited you, so you'll definetely go." I replied, "I'll not anywhere where you're not respected and you know that. Then why are you asking such stupid questions?"

He replied, "It's nothing like that. He's just angry so he behaved like that. Slowly everything will be fine. And he cares for you that's why he stood up for you. So, you should go the party."

I said, "Whatever it is, even he shouted at you. You even apologized to him but still he didn't behave well with you. So, don't try to convince me." and turned my face.

He made me look at him and caught his left ear with his hand and said, "Sorry, now don't be angry. Go fresh up, we'll have breakfast and go to office." I nodded my head and went to washroom.

I got ready and went down. Veer was waiting for me at the dining table, I joined him. We had our breakfast and went to office. I attended the meeting with him. I was nervous at first, but then Veer caught my hand tightly to give me strength, and then I felt nice. After the presentation Veer asked me my opinion. I gave my inputs and they were all impressed. And then Veer concluded the meeting. After seeing Veer in meeting room, I was very proud of him. His dedication, hardwork and the way he handled everything made me feel proud of him. I mean being from entirely different field and still managing things is not so easy. But he's doing it very well and I just him for that. My thoughts were broken when I heard Veer calling me, "Hey Misti, where are you lost?" I smiled and replied, "Nowhere, I'm just proud of you."

He said, "What happened today that you're giving me such nice compliments?" I replied, "Come on Veer, I'm serious. I mean the way you handle every thing is not possible for everyone. Being a doctor managing business is not easy, but still you do justice to whatever you do."

He smiled and said, "Nothing like that, it's all because of your support. Now stop this, tell me what do you want to eat for lunch?" I smiled and said, "Italian" He said, "Okay then Let's go."

We went to a Italian restaurant, we had our lunch there and then Veer said, "Misti, My manager took an appointment for that boy at the best ENT specialist in Mumbai. Now he has an appointment at 3. So, I was thinking that we should also visit the doctor along with him. What say?"

I replied, "Yes, of course. Let's go" We went to the hospital. Both the kids were present there along with Veer's manager. Then we went inside, doctor examined and said, "He need to do some oral exercises daily and have these medicines. Then he'll be fine. But he needs to visit me every 15 days" Veer replied, "That's great. I'll not be available but my manager will bring him whenever you say. Thank you."

As soon as we came out of the cabin, that girl hugged both of us and said, "Thankyou, thankyou so much. We'll be forever greatful to you" That girl was very happy and she even had tears in her eyes. I wiped them and said, "No don't cry. You should be happy that now no one will tease your friend. Always stay happy and continue your friendship like this only" The girl smiled and nodded her head. She then turned towards her friend and signalled him to come. That boy was very shy and reserved, he was very happy but he didn't show it on his face. He was shy to say anything. He just said, "Thankyou" we smiled at him and said, "It's okay."

Veer's manager then took the kids to their orphange and we came to the parking lot. We sat in the car, but didn't move as we don't know what to do. He said, "What shall we do now?"

I asked him, "Veer, it's been long we went to a Movie, let's go for a movie" He said, "which movie do you want to go?"

I replied, "Let's go to the theater, we'll then select a movie." He nodded his head and drove us to the theater. "Avengers- End game" movie was there, so we decided to go to that one. We bought the tickets and went inside. The movie started and after a while I received a message from Nikhil, "Hey where are you? It's 7.30 and you haven't come yet."
